Thank god for tekken 4. It might have commercially failed but it really honed in into tekken's aesthetic and nailed it.
First ewgf came out in Tk3, but jin is the user not kazuya
I think people like me who got into tag 1 from arcade got so much into Mishima's, Kazuya, Jin, Devil and when they decided to change Jin, it sort of fizzle out some casual players
Then with walls, it's sort of alienate the fan base more. I'm glad Tekken 7 made Tekken popular again. One aspect of Tekken 4 was odd for me was stages with steps, it changes the height of the character
Agreed. Tekken 4 has the best aesthetic, but my first PS2 game was Tekken Tag Tournament, so it felt like a downgrade to have less characters.

People complain about combos doing too much damage these days but back then your entire health bar could be depleted in just 4-5 hits lmao
I like this guy.
I think the main problem with combos these days is they take soooo long to finish, you're essentially sitting there watching your ass get beat for 10 seconds or more

In Tekken 2, there's a 70dmg staple with WGF ~ 1 ~ 1,2,2
I just tested this in the lab, it only does 62
@@chugsomeheckingparmesanche6004 Hm? I have been doing it for years, and tested again for the sake of it. I get 70dmg. You sure you're not doing 1,1,2 instead? The only way I can lower the damage is by doing a neutral 1 instead of f1 (in T2 the lead jab dmg tends to change by 2 depending on this, though for some it's higher as a neutral), but even then the damage will be 69, or 68 at the lowest IF you can actually land the 1,2,2 without pressing forward (I don't think it's possible). With counter hit, the damage is 77.

@@chugsomeheckingparmesanche6004 No, you end with 1,2,2. The last hit of that string is the key to the high dmg. Otherwise, yes, just remember to keep pressing forward after the WGF.

Tekken 7: ewgf + ewgf + ewgf + ewgf

Kazuya is one of my favorite characters since Tekken 2 & Tekken 4 & 5 didn't play him in Tekken 6 Tekken Tag 2 I played him & getting use to him again I'll main him in Tekken 8 as well
Dark Resurrection was a balance update to Tekken 5 for arcades that got ported to PSP, then PS3. Not a tweaked version specifically for PS3.

@@SolidSonicTH it doesn't claim anything, it just says it was a tweaked version for ps3, because ps3 was released in year 2006 namco wanted to fix the bugs and introduce the game to new gen hardware
