It will work, it might even be more stable because the draws are heavy and the rubber wheels on the carpet will produce a flat track that will align it when you use it often. That's my guess.
@@PoolarityChannel so In theory if you get the malm with only two drawers . Would someone with the skills needed be able to modified the 2 drawers and make them larger let’s say almost large enough to the other side of the bed

Man my bed frame sucks I have the exact same one and the support beams move like alot! I have to constantly fix the bed and can't even sit on the side of it. It makes so much noise especially intimate times. Drawers are hard to move when you have stuff in it.
Thanks for the response! I figured it out turns out the beam underneath was placed wrong, but after lowering it or adjusting it the mattress was leveled. Thank you.
I just assembled our MALM bed we purchased last night and it creaks like crazy! It was assembled correctly. It is not rubbing against the wall or baseboards. Did yours creak and if so, does it stop creaking with time?
Have you tried to notice what area is creaking. Try putting those small felt stickies at the bottom where it meets the floor. Never creaked, nearly 1.5 years now.
@@PoolarityChannel Thanks for getting back w me! It seems that the wooden slats under our mattresses (we have two twin xls making a king size) are creaking with any movement. I'll try the felt pads and see how that goes. If that works, that would be way less work than disassembling it and driving two hours back to IKEA!
Its very good, I made a video here about it - th-cam.com/video/xKDRYKQf53c/w-d-xo.html I thought the mattress was very decent for the price, my brother also got the same mattress for himself and his daughter and so far they really like it.
Judging from their photos on IKEA, I don't think the twin comes with a support beam in the middle www.ikea.com/us/en/p/malm-bed-frame-high-white-luroey-s49009952/
Make sure its not rubbing against the baseboards, from a lot of comments people say the creaking is from the bed rubbing against the wall or baseboards.
4 storage is nice. BUT BUT BUT keep in mind, it blocks the use of night stands on each side, so you might have to go with just 2 on the lower portion and not 4 because of that reason.
@@PoolarityChannel i did it in 1.5 hours but i have a drill screwdriver, the tedious part for me is screwing the screws in with that tool that comes with the bed.
BTW if your bed is creaking, make sure its not rubbing against the baseboards, so move the bed 1/8" from the wall and baseboards
Thanks for creating this. My landlady bought a used one with no instruction manual so this really helps.
Do you recommend this bed for purchase?
Do u think the drawers will work on carpet?

@@PoolarityChannel I was just about to ask this, thanks!!
If you don't install the storage boxes does it look like the normal malm without storage? or are they not actually attached to the frame itself
1:40 - the storage boxes are not attached to anything. they simply roll on the floor
@@PoolarityChannel so In theory if you get the malm with only two drawers . Would someone with the skills needed be able to modified the 2 drawers and make them larger let’s say almost large enough to the other side of the bed
How good are the drawers at keeping dust out?
I also wanna know....
Yeah they don’t seem to be very good at that…
All depends on how much you clean, I have no dust issues, because I run my Robot Vacuum 3 times a week.
Hi , so far how is the bed performing? It has been years
Did you need a box spring?
No, this bed doesn't need a box spring
Will the boxes fit in a Nissan Rogue?
Yes. Side boards gonna be on the center console though

How strong are the wooden ribs structure, if kids jump?
What is the size (in inches) of the gap between the slats?
Hey! Do you need a spring box for the bed?
No. Just a mattress is fine.
@@PoolarityChannel thanks I was wondering the same thing
Do you know the weight limit of this bed?
They only say exceeds 440 lbs
How strong are wooden ribs ?
i have used the same ones for 6 years, no problem
Could you put in a box spring if you wanted to
Yes, but your bed will be super tall
Is anyone else’s slatted base making it so that the mattress is slanted on both sides, with the middle being higher up. Any solutions please??
No here, pretty normal. How thick is your mattress?
I totally agree. I’m miserable.

Very helpful video. Very detailed and informative! Thanks so much

@@briandavidofficial This person here as a bunch of tips on how he made the squeaks on his ikea bed quieter th-cam.com/video/S7GnKj60OFI/w-d-xo.html

How is the squaking on this bed? I heard it was pretty bad from reviews so im not sure. Also how high is the headboard?
No squeaking, if the legs are pressed against the baseboards, you may hear squeaking. Otherwise quiet after 1 yr now
Hello, can you please tell me the demonstration of the bed
If you mean the mattress, that video is here - th-cam.com/video/xKDRYKQf53c/w-d-xo.html
Do you know how big the box’s are? I’m not trying to drive to LA and have it not fit
You need a full size SUV, unless you strap the headboard to the roof or leave your compact suv truck open. A car won't fit it
@@PoolarityChannel okay thank you so much for replying! Hopefully it’ll fit in my highlander!
@@Ruizzzz Highlander should fit.
What tools do you need to install?
the allen wrench that comes in the bag, maybe a small hammer to do some light tapping
Hii hopefully you see this and can help, my headboard is quite unstable! i’m not sure why
Hi you can try wood glue and or brackets.
Is the bed fixed to the wall?
No, like any normal bed. Moves on the base, feet

Hi Can you install drawers on either side? Or only one side?
Both sides, and both towards head and feet. Keep in mind it will block a night stand
I have the single one in my villa and it's annoyingly noisy, when I sit or toss and turn around in bed!:(((
How strong is the wooden rib like structure ?
Make sure its not rubbing against the baseboards, from a lot of comments people say the creaking is from the bed rubbing against the wall or baseboards.
Hi there is the paint on this bed glossy?
Its not really glossy, its more of a matte finish.
Is it noisy
No. Not noisy. Make sure its not rubbing against the baseboards, that may cause noise also.
It's very noisy!:((((
Hey where did you buy the middle metal beam that connects to the front and back metal pieces? This piece doesn’t come with the bed frame boxes.
It should, you need to go back to IKEA and tell them its missing.
Ours came separately
do you recommend this bed frame with the 4 storage or the 2 storage boxes ?
4 storage is nice. BUT BUT BUT keep in mind, it blocks the use of night stands on each side, so you might have to go with just 2 on the lower portion and not 4 because of that reason.
Does your bed happen to have a arch in the middle I don’t know why mine does
Nope. Very normal and level
theres no room for a bedside table though?
that's right, there is no room for a nightstand if you use 4 draws, you would only be able to have 2 draw towards the foot side of the bed.
Is it possible to have this bed with an adjustable base?
That’s my question. I have an an adjustable base but want this bed
Is this hard to assemble? I’m planning on buying the twin size one
Not hard, just time consuming, expect to spend 4 hrs on it.

whats the size of this in cm?
