    The only function of anger is to harm. And the greatest harm is to those that create and maintain it. It is the greatest enemy, except for the ignorance, that it is our enemy. Contemplating the faults of anger is the beginning of opposing it. Meditation on the faults is stronger.

    I love it. Competition is the driving force for just about everything I do. The egg boxing is a hilarious way to compete. Egg boxing from a teen to adulthood might be a little obsessive to some degree; nevertheless it just may be a mechanism for a type of therapy that translates to other activities for performance.
    Is the archery sights or no sights? Recurve or compound bow? I found it most challenging hunting deer with a no sight with a recurve bow. It takes more strength to hold a bow strength steady, especially if your draw length is long and you are drawing a 50# recurve. In my day there was two options: single pulley and four pulley. I'm not sure what advances there are in more modern bows. And trigger pull is a consistent mechanism for rifle or archery for accuracy. I learned to master the trigger surprise training in the Marine Corp.
    I have an analogy for anger that relates to time to think. I played football at every level accept the NFL level, though I competed against many NFL caliber talent. What I noticed, as I progressed through each level of competition, the speed of the game increased to what seemed to be exponential. What is interesting the games slowed very quickly in a matter of days, not weeks. The lower levels appeared to be remarkably slow after this experience. Of course there's a component of talent that gave me the ability to respond using my God given speed and mass to quickly compensate; however even the lesser talent could see the game slow, but they were unable to respond as fast as the gifted. I'm thinking the same could be true if we had purposeful training to respond to the speed of uncontrolled events through focused repetition. Repetition king in sporting events.

      Maybe instead of breaking down energy stored in the body, which is the goal of fasting, instead it uses caffeine, consequently ignoring fat.

    Regarding the use of (2) Slow-Mag in the morning/evening, and (2) Mag L-Threonate (Magtein or Jarrow's Magmind) at night.. Peter tweeted that even though it's not readily absorbed, he uses Mag-Ox for bowel function?
    Regarding a visual on some of the exercises, he demonstrates a little bit here:

      1. One interesting thing I noted. I normally sleep very well and rarely not get a great night of 8-9 hours of sleep. But if I take Zinc before bed, I have insomnia and poor sleep. Weird right?
      2. I'm not convinced about different forms of Mg. I mean, why is the standard advice to take Mg Threonate at night? I'm trying to be super sharp in the AM when I study different languages and do my day job at the hospital. So I tend to take Mg Threonate in the AM on weekends, and a cheaper Mg in the evening.

    Three day fasts work well for me followed by five+ days of OMAD carnivore. Much easier than a seven day fast and my ketones stay above 3.0 for the full time after 72 hours. I do this once every month. I fast with lots of MCT C8, Sport salts & exogenous BHBs. They minimize the hunger spikes.

    You should look into virtue philosophy. The human person can be improved at a deep core level through the continual cultivation of virtue. Aristotle had a lot to say about this. Catholic medieval thinkers developed this understanding from the ancient Greeks and this development continues today. It has many seriously positive ramifications.

      So many societal norms that support eating all the time that many people would feel, very unconsciously, that they're breaking the rules. And, the consumption (eg breakfast cereal & other foods, snack foods for daytime & night --taste really good, feel good and are actually addictive). We know that to break that routine & pattern, it's a mental & physical thang... then people's experience allows them to form new 'rules' and beliefs. Fingers' crossed that more people get there sooner vs later!!

    This guy fasts wayy too much considering that 3+ day fasts have been shown as unbeneficial for longevity as they cause too much stress and our ancestors likely did not actually fast for these extended periods. Robb Wolf has talked about this. Weird move by Dr. Attia - his routine 7 day fasts cant be good.

    • @StephenPougas
      @StephenPougas 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      He is literally saying there is zero research on what is optimal fasting scheduling and length...

    • @Artiscetic
      @Artiscetic 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I can't speak on when exactly a fast reaches diminishing returns, but I would have no trouble believing that it's likely our ancestors fasted for much longer than 3 days at a time.

    • @BlueSkies360
      @BlueSkies360 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say you need at least 36 hours to clear garbage out of the bowel. 7 days means you clear all in 48 hours, then fast for 5 days. If he is healthy or take supplements that is fine.

    • @ChrisPuckett
      @ChrisPuckett 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robb Wolf is also selling food products and another diet plan. Fasting advice is bad for business. 48 hour fasts are nothing, if you’re too scared or too skinny to do them, then you should do them. As long as you replenish your electrolytes with sodium, and monitor how you feel, fasting is the best way to live.
