4 Wheel Steer "TANGO" goes TWIN BRUSHLESS - TEKIN POWER! | RC ADVENTURES

  • With the full size "FORD RIVIAN R1T" being built - we are NOW ABLE TO RUN MOA in Class 4! Ever since inception, Tango was always intended to be Dual Brushless. And today, this dream comes alive. I have with me 2 RX4's from Team Tekin. Also with me are Dual 3100kv Brushless Roc 412 Element Proof motors. Ohhhhh mamma! Each one of these axles are independently controlled by a motor and transmission mounted directly to them. The servo is for steering, and since both axles have these servo's, they can steer in both directions, or in the same direction. Also.. they can be controlled as separate units. The Tekin Website has a TON of helpful information on their products, and you can see them here: www.teamtekin.com/products.html
In this video I install these items and also give some tips and tricks on soldering them.

I'll tell you something, I'm 62 and I've been watching your videos for some time now. I recently bought myself my first rc plane, my 14 year old son and I have the most awesome time flying that silly thing around. We've crashed it and repaired it, but that's part of it. Thank you for inspiring me to get into the rc hobby, it has brought me and my son the greatest of joys.

I 100% would never got a crawler without watching your videos, it used to be all about how big and fast my RCs where and yeah that was enjoyable but no where near as much as the detail and variations u can get with crawlers, opened up a whole new side of RC I had never even considered and I enjoy it more than any other type of RC

How do people click the dislike button on these great videos? You produce AMAZING work that got me into the hobby and will keep me in the hobby for the rest of my life. Thanks for that. I guess there are people out there that are very negative and somehow do not like the way you inspire people like me to keep the hobby alive. I'll always be with you on this channel.

Excellent video again. People may not mention it as much as they should, so thank you for the small tips. Like burning with the center of the lighter and not the orange flame end, to prevent soot build up on the wire. Thanks. :)

I’ve been on my local walking trail and had people stop and stare as I drive my truck on my. There seems to be a mix of people that are amazed by the extent of the hobby and people that have to try to make you feel bad about being in the hobby. I was talking to a guy I go to High School with a couple weeks ago and he thought RC was stupid. To each is own, but don’t bash the hobby until you have given it a fair shot. The scale truck movement has really taken off in the last few years, and I’m excited for the new technology and new enthusiasts that will be coming along for the ride! You are the reason I got into scale stuff last year, so thank you for helping me go broke!!!

I've been soldering professionally for 19 years and we use Hako irons (932) and also Weller (witch is my new go to iron, it holds the heat much better and heats up from cold start in a few seconds). I've always had my iron set to 800 to 850 for 8 hours a day 5 days a week. As long as you keep solder on the tip during stand by, the tip will last for a few months. Pro Tip: If you learn how to wrap the solder around your index finger to feed it in, you can use your middle finger and thumb to hold the wire in place. This comes in handy when soldering 2 wires together.

You should have seen me trying to do the loom on my trailer a few weeks back. I got $5aud that says my neighbor's filmed me doing said wiring, then played it back at x3 speed with Benny hill music inserted for good measure.

I would insulate the wires on the ESC.
If a screw, a tool, a body clip or something else falls on those connectors then you could have a problem.
I would use T-7000 or PlastiDip or similar, then you can easily remove it.
Or solder the wire in a straight angle and use shrink tube.

I think some people wouldbe surprised to see how long gears can last with no lubricant at all. Especially in an application like this where the will see relatively low use and are of high quality. Dry lube or no lube is definitely better than something that will attract grit. I live in Florida and my truck that frequently sees mud gets nothing on the r&p. I clean them frequently and they do fine.
