Kayaking From Kings Landing Up Rock Spring Run

After a nice stay at Kelly Park Campground I drove just downstream to spot from which you can launch your own kayak or rent your own. Kings Landing as it's called is very well organized and has plenty of parking and lots of kayaks to rent. There was a very calm little canal that lead to the Rock Springs Run from where you can paddle upstream towards Kelly Park again as close as you can get to Rock Springs anyway.
It's not a long paddle but there were still alligators, manatees, plenty of fish, and nice calm waters. Once you float back down you can then float further downstream then paddle back up and back to the launch.

I don’t know when you be in Sliver Springs and I hop you have a chance to hike the Florida Trail in Ocala National Park Forest. I live 10 mins from the springs. Hike from Juniper Springs to north on the Fl Trail to the Hidden pond. The trail starts from outside the gate on right.

That's a great paddle! Definitely worth it to go all the way to wekiva in the other direction of you have time, maybe take a night to camp in Wekiva State Park halfway thru.
