Get out there and do it! There's people of varying levels of fitness. I ride pretty consistently year around. When I did this ride, I had already done a handful of 60 to 100 mile events + my regular weekend duration rides, so this event didn't give me too much trouble. (I'm also not hammering down on the climbs.) However, the key is to make sure you're fit enough to do a duration ride. The climbs are VERY mild.
There was a nice turn out, I'd estimate maybe a couple hundred people participated. If you haven't done it, I'd say go for it and bring the family if you have one. I brought mine and we stayed down the street at the Red Rock, which was a perfect location.

im interested in trying this but my fitness is no where near as good! how long did it take to prepare for this?

I was thinking about doing this ride this year (2024) How many riders did the 75 miler last year?

How fast were you going downhill? Around the 7th minute
Probably 34-38mph range. This was a nice, long but gradual descent.
