Dang nab t shirt !!!! Sign me up!!!!
We'll have design one soon!!
You guys bring me so much joy everything I watch your videos. I would love to meet you when I decide to visit the Ford presidential library in Grand Rapids!
That's so nice of you to say. Comments like those help to keep us motivated. We really appreciate it. The Ford presidential library in GR is fantastic. It's not a huge place but you could definitely spend hours there. He was a pretty interesting man! Are you planning a trip there soon?
I don't think this year but maybe 2025.
I am so happy for you two having a shop now to work in and be out of the weather. The holiday rambler is coming along nicely. Always look forward to your next video. Love watching you work your magic in renovating the RV’s. You’re doing a great job.
Thanks! It's a difference maker for sure 😁. We're excited to keep making progress! We'll keep making videos too 😉.
As I watch this video I think (as I have watching many of your other videos) "why can't a tool company sponser your videos" so you can use the appropriate tool for the job tou are performing !
Well, we bought that drum sander deal ourselves but it was on sale at Harbor Freight and we definitely think we'll get some good use out of it! But, hey, if any tool companies ever wanted to sponsor us, we'd be all for it!
Shew guys that was a lot of work!!! So glad seeing you starting on that sweet ‘ol gal, I bet she’s going to be a beauty when you’re done with her. For some reason it just looks like it’s got to have a lady’s name.🤗
Yes! We agree! We actually named her Ladybird 💙 Thanks so much for your comment and for watching the channel!
@@retrorevivals love the name!!!
Great job Jack on the power lift!
💪🏼💪🏼👏🏼
I love you guys! You make me laugh and I enjoy your interactions with one another.
Thank you 😊 and thanks for watching!
I also have a love/hate relationship with ratchet straps. lol
That Ron D. Ratchet! 😡
You two are awesome! Love watching you work together! ❤ Can’t wait for the next video! 🙏
Thank you so much!!😊 We'll keep making them. Keep watching!
Congratulations on that new ac! You two are so much fun to watch!
Thanks so much! 💚
Great progress on the Rosie Rambler. I too remember that commercial.
Thanks! It's funny how some commercials from many years ago are make a lasting impression.
This was a fun episode! Y’all are getting more confident in the various tasks you do:)
Thanks! Practice makes perfect 😄
You two are my therapy! I don't think my insurance will pay you though
Thank you so much 😊. Lol, submit it and see!
Love your channel! Have fun guys!
Thank you! 💚
😅you all make me laugh!
Thank you! 💚
I have a hole new respect for Tyler after the whole hole shot
Lol, hole new respect 😂
I remember that commercial
A classic!
Great video guys! Making progress and great job with your auction win!
Thanks for watching! It was a pretty good score 😁
Smooth like butter. Great job. You landed a good deal on the work bench’s.
Heck yeah, we're pumped about the deal and hopefully can get organized soon!
a french dude called gustave a audifferen invented the ratchet strap
Good to know. I like to learn new things 😁
You two make my wife and myself laugh the whole time, great Sense of humor you two. Fyi go back and put the sticky sealant tape under your air conditioner, you will thank yourselves down the road. Keep making the videos We love you guys 😍♥️🏆
Thanks so much 😁! Good tip. We'll keep making the videos. Keep watching!
Another awesome video, and that AC unit looks nice, its not huge and if you can use a portable power bank it's a game changer.
Thanks😁! The portable power station is pretty cool tech.
Great team work
Thank you 😊
It’s looking great
Thanks!!
We’d definitely wear Dang Nab t-shirts! 😂 can’t beat Curly Bob! Oh and your little video clip inserts are spectacularly amazing! Hilarious!
We'll have to work on that 😉. Thanks for watching!
It could use some tapered pieces of wood between the rafters and the roof metal. That would make it smoother, with a slope from the plywood in the center to the edges. It's what Holiday Rambler should have put in the roof.
Agreed. Good idea. I was thinking some dense foam might even give it a sound deadening quality.
Nurse Ratchett (one Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest)!😊😊 Dang nab...or Fiddle faddle...I'd buy a t-shirt! Dicor isn't supposed to look neat! Just a big blobby mess!! Nice work as always! ❤😊
Well, if it's supposed to look like a big blobby mess, we nailed it 😆 We need to get some new shirts going soon. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I also have a tin roof. mine had tiny pinholes, we patched with Henry's roof tape and coated entire roof with Henry's roof coating. We have an 1981 Class C Tioga. We had to rebuild overhead so we used dicor and Eterna bond tape on all roof seams. It's been almost 5 years and still holding up great. Keep up the great work.
Those pesky roof leaks! I'm glad those products well as well as they do. One little leak and things go downhill quickly. Thanks for the comment 😁
Fine work.
Thank you! 💚
Wo what a great deal for ten bucks...can't beat an underadvertised auction!
We lucked out for sure!
Great video!
Thanks!
I believe the silver coating is a mobile home coating with fibers. I used to have to do it about every three years to the summer trailer we had. Great score on the benches.
That silver stuff is the worst. Takes forever to stir up the aluminum powder from the bottom of the bucket, and after putting it on the roof it doesn't last. The aluminum is supposed to reflect UV light to protect the tar or whatever it's mixed into. Black tar or plastic coating, with or without fibers, goes bad just as quick.
The white elastomeric coatings are much better stuff. Even better are the silicone coatings but they're the most expensive and require special prep and primers.
Whatever it was it sets up pretty hard. Probably not flexible when traveling down the road. Thanks for the info 😁
Ratchet straps are the bestvevet!
They are pretty sweet. You can do a lot with ratchet straps and zip ties!
Sweet score of the new AC! That roof tar sucks! I had at least a 1/4 inch if that all over my roof. I opted to replace the roof skin, but that surface conditioner seemed to work ok. Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks! I'm glad ours ground off pretty easily. Any thicker and it would be a bear 😬. Keep watching!
I pray makita 18v or 36v leaf blower sponsors your next video.
🙏🏼
You can get a roll of white butyl rub roof replacement material, 12 ft. Wide @ Home Depot. It glues down after you seam seal😊. It's for mobile homes.
Thanks for the tip! We decided to leave the metal roof the way that it is. We sealed it with the intention of painting it down the road 😁
I had a pinhole in myself leveling Dicor that allowed water in. It was in one of my swirls under the edge of the vent.
It only takes one little leak 😬. We'll be on the lookout
I think a couple of Harbor Freight Scaffolding might be a good purchase so you can work on the camper without having to climb up and down a ladder.
We never considered that! Now that we have the barn up, something like that isn't a bad idea. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@retrorevivals Dad has scaffolding you could have.
I wish I had de humidity in Florida. Everything is wet
That is a pretty cool feature. It'll be interesting to see it in action.
You need an old fashioned winch attached to a rafter above the camper, it would make it much easier to lift things up or lower them down! Would love a T-shirt….do you have v-neck ones?
We've considered some type of host / pulley system. Maybe for the next one 😉. No V necks yet. We'll try to add merchandise designs as we can. Thanks for the comment 😁
The little channel that could has gone right on ahead and done!! You know you've hit the big time when sponsors come looking for you to feature their merch!! Strong work on that guys!!
Just a quick word about the dicor. It's self leveling, which means you literally glob it on and then let it level itself out. It takes some time to level, especially if it's cooler temps, but you don't have to mess with it at all. Just let it do it's thing. It also doesn't go that far. And yes Christy, it's pricey for what it is, but what isn't when it comes to these camper parts??!! I'm def not going to tell you how to do your rehab, but I would suggest you didn't use enough around the new vent. It should cover most of the silver frame, which will probably take about 2 tubes to get enough coverage. It should look very similar to how it did on the old one, just pretty and new. It's not used like caulk. It's meant to be a lap sealant. If it's not on thick enough, it's not going to do what it's meant to do.
As usual, another very fun and entertaining vid from the MI folks!! Enjoy reality!!🤷♂
Thanks!! It's been a lot of hard work 😁. Good point about the lap sealant. I'll likely climb back up there and glob some more on. We'll keep working at it 😉.
@@retrorevivals Glad I could help!
In it to win it like ysermen, can drink about 15 hinekins
Classic!!
You should never use caulk on the AC gasket just the gasket is all you need just snug it down it actually has a torque spec which is surprisingly light
You know, it's funny... on the last one we bought from RecPro, the instructions said to use the sealant underneath. This one didn't say that but we used it anyway because there were holes around the hole and we didn't want to risk water getting into them and rotting around the AC. We keep learning! Thanks for the comment!
@@retrorevivals it's looking good! Can't wait to see it finished! I'm getting mine ready to take up to Glennie for the whole summer at my seasonal campsite
I'm no authority on these ac units but remember that George on Humble Road had a leak issue and because of that disagreed with the manufacturer's instructions.
Where is the dry test fit? Is this a union job? ...just kidding, awesome video.
Haha, we were under a time crunch! 😆🎉
@@retrorevivals You getting more work benches in?
What will you use to paint the sides of the camper? I am using a primer then what kind of paint should I use? I want to use the right stuff to last a long time. I have a 73 also but a 30ft. Thanks! Looking great!
We have an airless sprayer that I think we'll try. We'll also use primer and then go over that with an oil based paint. Plans can change but that's the way we're leaning 😁 Thanks for the comment!
Any reno on the trailer yet?
We'll be back on that one soon 😉
What sort of online auction did you find those workbenches on? I have never thought to look for anything like that in my area down here in Florida, so I'm wondering if there was a site you used to find auctions close to you. TIA. Love watching you guys!
Hello! We have bought items from Repocast.com in the past and just happened to notice that their site has a like to their "Family of Companies" in the top corner --- these workbenches we bought off Orbitbid.com. I'm not sure if most of the family of companies is in Michigan though or if they're in other states.
@@retrorevivals I'll check it out, thanks!
Your way was better....I feel like it was too... 12:13
We calls em likes we sees em 😄
Not sure what part of Michigan you all live, but hoping the tornadoes did not affect you.
Thankfully it only rained where we are. Thanks for caring 😊
How many watts was the AC pulling from the oupes
Hi. It depended on the setting... just fan or dehumidifier was around 350w. With the AC on, it was between 800-1000w.
Raining caulk...😅😅😅😅
😅
Absolutely laughed my head off at that haha definitely doesn't want to be raining "gooey" caulk 😂
@timcarr5129 hey!! This is a family friendly show!😂😂😂
I would guess that the reason the AC parts are missing is because they found it to be dead and didn't bother putting it back together.
That's likely. Or got lost when it was originally demoed.
Down? Down? Down? Down?
That was funny 🤣
Sorry guys, I tried to watch it. There was so much distraction before you actually got to it that I opted for a different video. I dislike monetized TH-cam channels anyway.
👍🏼👍🏼
It's going to be raining caulk? That is definitely what she said.
So I'm immature! Sue me!
Isn't Christie a great woman? She is letting you have all of the fun of the sanding on the roof , to yourself! There is not a selfish bone in her body!
Ha! Christy is great! To be fair,I would much rather sand on the roof than try to organize the barn. But I'll act like I'm taking one for the team 😉.
Personally @retrorevivals I'm getting Tom Sawyer vibes from that woman!
Not a good time to make him laugh with that air conditioning on the ladder
Right! 🫣
Matthias Baldwin, a Philadelphia locomotive manufacturer invented the original ratchet strip in 1853. I realize this is life changing information, but you know. Haha!
That is great information to have! Never know when it might come in handy, lol. Thanks for the comment!
I love watching your channel , but is it just me or are y’all copying sleeperdudes Channel . It’s starting to feel and look like their vids.
Thanks for the comment, we appreciate you watching! There are many similarities between our channels but there are a lot of differences too and we don't feel like we're "copying." Those short clips at the beginning are like his channel --- we stopped doing them for a few videos and people asked for them back :-) Other channels do that too to try to give an idea of what's to come in the video. We like their channel though so being compared to them is a compliment 😊
