It def was tuff staying vertical early in the day. My brother usually runs the trolling motor. It was in constant use. We had to use a spare battery due to fighting that wind and current. From what I understand you try and keep the nose of the boat into the wind.
There's really no WAY to handle it, you just gotta adjust when needed. I was out sat, April 20, and had some nasty wind as well. But we delt with it and got our 3 man in roughly 8 hrs..so, not lights out by any means but it was fun as hell.
