I remember this gig, I was there with Mel on drums and the last minute he said 'Oh, you're backing Della also." Great book to play and she was sassy and great to the band. We rode to the airport together the next day, classy lady.
What a blessing and a joy it was to be in her company for Sunday service at UPCHURCH where she was the Reverend Della Reese-Lett for 20+ years. We were truly “TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL”
I am glad to watch this concert. For me it is a rather strange combination, especially when they sing together: the very powerful and tough voice of Della and the very beautiful voice of Mel. But thank you for uploading.
