But with maturity comes wisdom and that hate turned into great appreciation and the pinnacle of all emotions, love!

Oh my, what a wonderful story! growing up in Iowa during the mid-fifties, all we had were 2 or 3 TV stations. They would often run short films of singers at sign off (usually at 9PM). Burl Ives, Jimmy Dean, etc. But to my recollection, they ran Mahalia the most. And that was where I got my love for music. Incredible influence! Just as important as seeing Chuck Berry on AB.

This title is definitely misleading!!! Ms. Reese was telling about when she traveled with Ms. Jackson as a young woman, and she wanted to go out with the young men, but "Mahalia stood in the way" of that. Getting on into the story, it is very obvious that she respected Ms. Jackson very much.
It is enough negative in the world. I was getting ready to pass this video but I could not believe the title I knew it had to have some good instead of bad in it. But most people I believe will pass on listen to bad. Because no matter what there is more good in this world I like to believe than bad.
Take it down and repost it, this time with the sound. And get rid of that ridiculous title. Don't you realize that people who don't know better and don't play the tape will BELIEVE Della Reese hated Mahalia? That's not fair to either of them.
