You've just solved my problem without even meaning too!
I've been trying to get my pump to work for hours so came in for a cup of tea and I watched your video.
The second you said about the glass fuse I went back out, got mine off, swapped it over and it worked!
    Absolutely brilliant video!

Thanks for the feedback. It helps. My first attempt at anything like this. I doubt you will get an easier fix

This is great. I am tired of wasting money on fixing this cassette toilet. I am going to see if an auto or ordinary electrician can wire mine to a switch like yours. Thanks for your great video.

Thanks for your video this helped me. repair my toilet.
    * A mirror (iphone camera) helped me find the 4th screw to remove the switch assembly
    * The little metal switch goes back in with one end (with protrusions) taking the holes you used for the paperclip. It goes in in an "n" shape.
    * MY intermittent switch problem was actually the fuse housing! The inner part had corroded.

@@kathleenellison4430 hi disconnect the original pump wiring at your feed into the toilet, disconnect the water pipe from the old pump (inside the toilet and cut the wires remove the pump, will be held in place with a small screw you'll get a whale submersible pump, cheap one will one will do ,put in into the place where the old one was, bore a small hole in the top of the toilet close by the wall, making sure you have enough wire sticking out to make connections you will need 12v power from your battery minus and plus/live and neutral, neutral direct to neutral on the pump, live with a fused connection to a simple on/off switch, from the switch to the live on the pump, hopefully you'll understand my description

I need to remove the plastic moulding which holds the wiring harness. You show it removed (four screws). But how did you reach the two screws which are so far inside the cassette housing? And how did you put them back. It looks impossible!

Hi and sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It was with great difficulty and a lot of perseverance. A real pain. If you are still working on it I have almost put together another video where I have removed the toilet and exposed the location. Will try and post it in January. Regards

Hello could you tell me why the blade don’t open fully on your cassette as mine is the same and I’m sure they are suppose to open all the way or am I wrong

    • @pj6690

It is Dec 30th. I have just gone out to look and yes it can fully open but it took 3 hard throws to move it the last few millimetres. In the beginning I remember applying vaseline top and bottom then working it back and forth to improve it. I still redo that occasionaly. Apologies for the very late responce.

Hi There, can you post the links to the diagrams please? Great video, but it'd be good to see the blade fuse version? T
    hanks.

Thetford web site. Click on products, toilets, cassette toilets, scroll down through their range. Click on C2 discontinued, scroll down to spare parts list, click on download arrow left hand side. Open download, 21 pages. Multiple other sites have images of the mechanism or blade housing, for sale, with the bayonet fuse clearly visible.

Wish I could understand your English, I'm from the U.S..
Not getting power to fuse though.
    Any ideas?

Hi Joel and apologies for the slow response. My knowledge is limited. If you are still having trouble you will need to acquire a wiring diagram, trace the other end and test and so forth, there may be another fuse. The English is a Glaswegian/Scottish version, you may struggle. Try listening to some Billy Connolly you might catch on to some of the nuances. Billy, aka Big Banana Feet, is now a resident of Florida. Hope this helps and if you receive this All the Best for the New Year. P J

How did you wire it and what switch have you used

    • @pj6690
      @pj6690  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Jason. The switch and wiring were already there. There is a 20cm deep basin under a floor panel to stand in for a shower. The switch was for a sump pump for this area. I just rerouted the toilet wiring. If you go down this route I would suggest using a rocker switch to eliminate the possibility of leaving the switch in the on position and burning out the pump.

OK thank you for the reply I'm going bypass the wiring just below where it comes out from the bottom of the caravan and connect it to the pump just wondering what switch you used please 🙏
