$1500.USD a month is dirt cheap for a cosmopolitan/global city. However, Pat is NOT PAYING $1500. a month. He is paying $50. per night and he multiplied $50 times 30 days ($50 X 30 Days =$1500). The monthly Airbnb rate for that location is MUCH LESS than $1500.
I’m desperately trying to move over there as soon as possible! I just got back a week ago and spent a week in El Chico at the NH pavilion next to Parque 93. The bang for your buck going over there with USD to COP ratio is insane! I have found three bedrooms/4 bathroom apartments in the same area as well as Chapinero for $800-$900 a month. One day we were there it broke 81° and everybody was dying from the heat! Saying that Colombians are fashionable is an understatement! Definitely motivates you to want to work out and dress up just a little bit more before you leave your house lol But everybody was so nice and not once that I ever feel in danger even going as far south as Calle 45! You can eat 3x a day at food carts for about $10 too! 10/10 would love to live there!
Next time you’re in Bogota try the apartment on Calle 72. It’s $807/m in a high rise with a pool, gym, balcony, and free parking if you’re renting a car

Strictly speaking, the paseo millonario is when you're kidnapped and taken from ATM to ATM until all of your money is withdrawn. You're describing more of a raponazo or a generic atraco. Colombians are all about the perfect word for specific criminality.
BOGOTA is super cosmopolitan and tons of fun! And yes, the people are very fashionable, tall and gorgeous (women and men)! MEDELLIN, CARTAGENA, BARRANQUILLA, CALI, BUCARAMANGA and SAN ANDRES are on my agenda. Thanks PAT!!!
Most companies rely on motorcycles to get their burocratic tasks done effectively. It's a country of laws, and you need a document for every single thing. So delivery couriers are always on high demand.
This specific neighborhood is called El Retiro. It took a few days for me to feel safe here just because it was unfamiliar. Once you settle in, you get a more practical idea of the dangers which are more present in certain areas of the city than others. Only aspect of homelessness in my neighborhood is Venezuelan migrants asking for money.
@@francom179 US has way more homeless. and according to the International Peace Index it is way more dangerous than Colombia. www.visionofhumanity.org/maps/#/
I've lived here 3 years and never been robbed, but I'm not an obvious foreigner as short and tanned! I bought a six bed house with 1/4 acre for $300k, and 25min uber from here to Pat's would be about $3
I am colombian and i can say that you got the gringo price, that appartment at most $900 with the current rate! is old, does not has a view, and it's not even that big...
Yeah, people from Bogotá D.C, (and Colombian in general ) are very fashionable and one of the best good looking latinos, in addition very open mind people ( same sex marriage are legal, abortion, euthanised, adoption from same sex too, LGBT people can be in the military etc) People from Colombia are very mix between them so you can find a lot people with different kind of mix ( a lot black people, arab background specially from Lebanon, Syrian, Palestine, turkey, Israel) , Spanish and Mediterranean ethnicity, Europeans specially from Germany, Italy, some Asians, ) Brazilisn people and culture is very similar to Colombian too.
Who comes up with such prices - they are far too high for what he got, unless like someone suggested you get an Airbnb long term and calculate price xx times 30 days per month.
Nothing really going on in Bogota, horrible traffic, bad air quality, very dirty, its cold, the weather keeps shifting within a day, high crime especially at the city center, "Pickpocket Central" and gangs dwell there and follow tourists. Invest in Medellín, Cali and Cartagena those are much beautiful clean cities, and if you want real paradise go to San Andrés.
$1500/month is downright stupid for Bogota or anywhere in Colombia, regardless of what kind of "upscale" it is... Sorry mate, you're getting ripped off.

smart guy right here 👆
70% of the planet $400 a month is average rent in such a city.
$1500 is too pricey.
You are comparing this price to LA or NYC, which is a mistake.
Exactly
In NYC it’s a steal
Anywheee else it’s normal
But only one bedroom

Yes, many motorcycles here. Almost like SE Asia
I've seen apartments with two floors for under $1,000 two years ago!
Very nice apartment, modern, spacious thanks for the info

Does the $1,500 include utilities and the apartment administration fee?
this is an airbnb so it includes all that
Airbnb is always going to be more than the local long term rates. Short term rentals and Airbnb more.
Exactly

Calle 85 & Carrera 7
That place isn’t worth a penny over $800 a month. And that “view” is horrendous lol. There definitely should be better deals out there.

How much is a small finca near bogota?

You need a realtor for that...not Pat.
Where are the girls were where can we find the girls like Medellin ?You walk by body tech would you do a review on the body tech inside out?
good idea

in Cali you get something 2x better for that price, in a building with gym and jacuzzi at the least
i believe that for sure. Cali is on my list

murder rate is 5 or 6x higher in Cali, no thanks
Is it safe there? Looking to go solo travel but I've heard a lot of robbery stories

It's just like any other major city. You have safe upscale areas and poor working class neighborhoods.
