Thank you! There was always that thing with the 'one shot' build - "What do I do while Evil Eye is on cooldown?" The answer was deceptively obvious - walk around watching them get wrecked by Acid Pox. From a damage perspective, this build is done ... but we still have 60+ skill points to play with on any other mastery. I'm looking forward to doing the next video, should be fun :)
@@danm6370 Indeed 😜 - I’m intending to show which skills from the other masteries would be best (in my opinion) to support the build as it is, and I’ll obviously recommend the best two or three masteries, again in my opinion, but the final choice will be down to personal preference.
Nice! I only recently started playing and I love the variety of build options. I'm doing an Elemental/Fire/Aether build arcanist as my first character. Thinking of a gunslinger as second. But this build looks hella fun too.
@@baddman69 Thanks for the comment. I really like the gun stuff in this game, Purifier is strong and kind of obvious; Pyromancer with pistols + chaos can put out some ridiculous damage but you do need the full Darkblaze set to get the most out of that. This build (unfinished as it is) benefits from being very easy to gear-up right from the start, with high damage over time and also surprising survivability due to the kiting playstyle and damage absorption from Possession skill.
Nice build review and guidance. I have been following along with my own character and he is doin fine. I was a little unsure about pox since eye was doin so well. Pox is great though but I only use the eye without grenade mode, don’t like the cooldown. Thanks again.
@@ArcherLongBow Thanks for trying this out. The trick (or whatever you choose to call it) is using the offhand to convert pox to acid so you only have to focus on buffing acid and not vitality damage. Pox becomes much stronger than it otherwise might, and Evil Eye is as stupid as ever - using the node to add damage+cooldown is entirely optional and depends on personal preference and playstyle; I personally like the big bomb effect and I find the cooldown of Evil Eye is largely irrelevant while pox is active on a group 👊🙂
Yeah, I tend to focus on devotion damage as soon as possible, picking up defensive stuff later on. Priorities slightly different in hardcore but not much.
@@latamir2630 I can tell you that you need one or more masteries that have aura-damage skills, for example Inquisitor (Aura of Censure), Nightblade (Night’s Chill node of Veil of Shadow) plus any gear that directly adds damage to those skills or buffs the damage type being dealt by those skills. Have a look at this video where I am messing about with both those aura damage skills - th-cam.com/video/98aFAHUksH8/w-d-xo.html Next, I can tell you that if you want the aura damage to be acid/poison then you’re going to need to be converting the damage type of a strong aura-damage skill such as those two mentioned above. Night’s Chill lowers enemy resistance to acid/poison but it deals cold damage so you’d need to be converting cold (or elemental) damage to acid damage. There’s gear that will do this, but chances are you will have to give up a gear item that buffs the aura’s default damage to equip an item that converts it. As with most theoretical concepts in Grim Dawn, this one is possible … it just isn’t guaranteed to end up ridiculously strong.
@@Arcadelife1 Hi! Thank you so much for your response and recommendations! Now I understand what I need to look for. Thanks for the information. I will definitely watch your video to better understand the use of these skills. I will also keep in mind that in order to achieve acid/poison damage, I will need to convert the damage type and possibly change the equipment for this. Your advice helped me decide on the next steps. Thanks again for the help!
That's too bad if there aren't more legendary sets/gear that this build can use at very late game. Just seems to me like there should be end game legendaries for every type of build so you have something to work towards to instead of just sticking with MI's at level 100
@@XuroX. It’s because I’m not doing a recognised ‘normal’ build such as a retaliation sentinel (Occultist + Oathkeeper) which has legendary set support but involves creating a build that follows particular guidelines. If you have a legendary set that you want to use (any legendary set) you’re probably going to have to tailor your build to get the most out of that set. The way I’ve done this build is to look at two attack skills (Pox and Evil Eye) and then target the ‘easy’ items that are the best at buffing one or both of those skills. For me, for the purposes of providing builds anyone can easily replicate, I’d rather use target-farmable MIs than say “You will need X legendary set for this to work the best”. Of course, I’m starting a pistol Pyro build guide series that says “You will need the Darkblaze legendary set for this to work the best” so I’m erratic at best 👊😂
I thought your One Shot build was fun. This is One Shot 2.0. Thank you for giving me a reason to take a break from wow classic. You're the best.

@@Arcadelife1 I can't wait to see what mastery you choose for the second. I doubt you'll go arcanist because you've already used it before.

Some constellations have nice resistances. But there's always a trade off. Nice build thus far. Thank you.
