You've described my pain exactly- especially after eating while seated for more than 20 minutes, and/or getting in and out of the car. Excruciating!

ive had low back pain for over 20 years after a few injuries in teens/20s. Finally, at 43 got a Dr to look closer and do a MRI. The study didnt show anything out of the normal for a active man my age. A mildly degeneratd L5 S1 and some fluid buildup( inflammation) in the facets. My pain is right side only with blips of pain in butt and groin. They recommened injections in facets to see if thats where the pains coming from. For now I decided against it and just going to do strenghing exercizes at home on my hips and pelvic floor. I understand once you have back issues its a long most likely never ending road to find relief. I also believe people carry their emotions in there spines. There has to be a place our emotional pain lives as it travels down from the brain. I think the spine and muscle skeleton is that spot

Thank you! This was extremely helpful and explains why my dad was worse after a physiotherapist appt. My mom is scared to see a physiotherapist regarding her back arthritis. Now I can help them ask for exactly what they need… someone who can help them that specializes in non surgical cases! Thank You ! ❤😊

I wish you lived in my area! Omg! Everything you mentioned is me! Plug hip issues. I’m only 48!!
I’m young not overweight but have tons of issues with arthritis/inflammation. I have a belly and that is where my weight issue mainly is and can’t lose it - I’ve done fasting intermittent fasting walking and now gym I don’t drink I’m vegetarian etc etc etc - it just won’t go away. And when I work out my abs I never feel sore 😢 I’m feeling disappointed and helpless.
Thank you for all this info!

Hi Punam, We are so sorry to hear that you are suffering from back arthritis, especially at the young age of 48! We know how frustrating it can be to the point of wanting to give up but please don't. It does take time and patience (which is disappointing to hear too but it's the truth) We would highly recommend a Virtual Consultation with one of our experts.
Our Virtual Consultations are conducted similarly to a Zoom call, and we will send you a link that will automatically connect you with one of our doctors. This consultation will allow us to better understand your condition, discuss your medical history, and provide personalized guidance tailored to your needs.
Once you have purchased the Virtual Consultation, we recommend sending us an email with your questions, any records you would like to discuss, and a brief description of your medical history at least 24 hours before your appointment. This will help us prepare and ensure we can address all your concerns during the session. Please refrain from sending this information before purchasing for security purposes.
After your Virtual Consultation, you will receive a recording of the session, and you will have 30 days from the date of the consultation to ask any follow-up questions regarding your session. You can email us your questions, and our doctors will get back to you at their earliest convenience.
Once you purchase your consultation, our scheduling coordinator will contact you to find out the best time and date that works for your appointment.
To learn more about our Virtual Consultations, including cost, please click here: www.epmanualphysicaltherapy.com/virtual-visit/
In the meantime, we do have a back arthritis help playlist that might be helpful if you haven't already seen it. You can access it here: “Back Arthritis Help”
      th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1maO8mjLabmoW2hgcx1XG2jH.html
We recommend working with this playlist for 2 weeks. Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not.
We hope you found this information helpful. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

Hi Christina, there is no guarantee that any program will work. There are too many factors that contribute to the success of recovery such as the severity of the issue, commitment to recovery, nutrition and other medical factors. We have several free resources on our TH-cam channel with additional information and exercises.
You can try them out first and if you feel that it has been beneficial you can purchase the 28-Day Back Health and Wellness Boost Program for further recovery.

What about the upper middle back that I have osteoarthritis is very painful and I have it in my hips and my knees. What’s the best thing to do is therapy doesn’t seem to help. And the rheumatologist wants to stick me to a pain doctor which pain medicine doesn’t work either.

So I share this video with a friend who has arthritis in his back too. My sister-in-law does two at any rate we have a plan for me and yeah medication‘s up on medication‘s but if it helps I am all for it. I start physical therapy soon I hope I can get back to my life. I have literally been on my back for over a month. When I stand up and walk, I am in so much pain that it takes me an hour to get over it but at least I understand all of it now the arthritis which I have seen in videos at that L4, L5 area is crimping my sciatic nerve and then my muscles in my buttock are so tight that it’s also affecting that sciatic nerve that runs down the lake so I’ve actually got it in two spots.

So i had upper back surgery. And was told that i have disc degeneration in my neck and low back. My doctor for my back recommended that surgery would not help. Like today because of me having had foot surgery. Walking irritates my low back or movement. Since I can’t really move on my foot. So my question is, since I have left me surgery done and needing a replacement. My right foot almost healed from foot surgery. What would be the next or best thing to do to try and relieve the pain I get. Like I have today it makes me not want to move, but I can’t lay still?

Hi Michele, We understand how frustrating it can be with all the information that is out there. It can be overwhelming and oftentimes contradictory. One thing to consider is that at El Paso Manual Physical Therapy we specialize in helping people avoid unnecessary injections & surgery while traditional physical therapy tends to focus on healing post-surgery.
Because of this, the information we provide will be different from traditional physical therapy advice. Also, everyone's body composition is different so what works for one person may not work for another. What's important is finding options that work for you as you know your body better than anyone. To find a solution you may need to try different techniques and exercises that you find beneficial.
