    I had basically given up hope on my Ronin - had everything balanced but just couldn't stop it drifting upwards - had basically lost the will to go on - found your video by chance and I went through your video and changed the settings through the app and BINGO ! So thank you for this video appreciated. REALLY APPRECIATED !

    Aloha
    Excellent Intro - I specially appreciated your including something that no on else seems to do. You show the correct way to set up very clearly - but you also intentionally set some things wrong and show the consequences. This showing the effect of improper/wrong setting is INVALUABLE for a newbie like me. I don't have to blindly follow the correct procedure because you demonstrate what to expect if set improperly.
    ALSO - your explanation of DEADBAND is the clearest and most accurate description ever recorded,
    Clear, concise, accurate (with error demos) EXCELLENT
    Mahalo !

    brother is the red epic at 16:06 also on the DJI Ronin M? If so is there any additional stuff needed for RED EPIC camera to be mounted on it? Thanks

    • @UltimateGravityRiders
      @UltimateGravityRiders 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Gimbal with the RED on is a Ronin. The big one for cinema cameras and the one with the canon on is the smaller one. You have to buy the big Ronin for using RED's or cameras like that because of the weight.

    Great Tutorial! Can you suggest a "how to link" on upgrading the firmware? I've to the DJI assistant on my mac desktop, now. I'm experience the tilt/horizon drift and hoping the new firmware will solve this problem. Thank you!

    Do you think the box containing the Ronin M can be carried in a case in a plane (in the hold) ?
    I'm taking a 10hrs flight soon, I have to keep all my fragile stuff on me (video gear, hard drives & co) but unfortunately I can't take everything in the cabin… I didn't get the Ronin yet but the case looks solid with the polystirene. But I'm still affraid, I already got 2 broken ND filtes plastic boxes that were well protected…

    question: in balancing my ronin-m, particularly on the tilt and roll axis, it won't find a point where it's "neutral". it comes back to even from both sides instead of staying in place, on both axis. what should i do?

    • @AerialMediaPros
      @AerialMediaPros  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Schwantes It usually has to do with the vertical position of the tilt adjustment. Start with adjusting the tilt axis as shown with the camera on its back, and balance so the camera will be tilting around its center of gravity. Then take a look at roll and adjust little by little to reach center.

    ive owned the ronin-m now for a few months, it's a great tool but no matter how much I balance ( and im pretty damn good at balancing it ) I noticed as of late the roll axis starting to shift. This never happened before and my setup hasn't changed. have you guys ran into this? I've just been using controller to fine tune but we shouldn't have to do that esp since we have the app.

    Manually balancing this overpriced gadget is a nightmare.. Even this guy had problems trying to get it stable. If they added an automatic balancing feature where you don't have to balance yourself it would be worth it. If you buy this you have to spend 1 hour each time you want to balance your camera....

Zoom to infinity adjust focus set focus to Manual and every thing is in focus right down to 10'. Short depth of field SUCKs for the type of video I do. R/C Model Planes.

    • @astika81
      @astika81 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Freddy Acosta There are plenty of alternatives that you can get and some of them do run around 500 to 600 dollars (DYS Eagle Eye with 8 Bit AlexMos) however I do believe you are jumping the gun here because a DIY system will require some major know how. 1) You need carbon fibre tubing (too heavy otherwise) 2) you need a 32Bit Alexmos processor or Simple BGC (both require some major programming to balance ) 3) you will need 3 5203 Motors and a make shift casing for them if you want to use this gimbal outside and ensure it wont fall over from a drop of rain. You will need to do some clever wiring to put everything out of the way and ensure it doesnt affect the free movement of the motors .. what I am trying to say is .. yes the materials will probably run you $500-600. Your time spent however is going to really make this a bargain at $1400

    You didn't actually balance the unit! That's not helpful when we are listening to you for guidance and you don't actually follow through with balancing it and what it takes.
