I hope CIG's CitCon hangover is gone by Monday morning because they need to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty to fix this incompetent mess.
they need Chris Roberts to be like : "im stepping back from the project and we will no longer be selling ships and now getting rid of 80% of our employees until we have a 1.,0 platform from which to be profitable and then we can work on adding content to that persistent universe and we are throwing away sq42 and giving u your money back" I think is the only way
😂 "we are integrating sq42 completely into the PU, and moving over all 1000 employees to only work on our persistent universe, and we are adding loot boxes and skins along with our season zero battle pass.
Terrific recap on the things that happen to mining loop. Seems like the mining never was the CIG's main dish - which is fair, it's not something that every individual has to enjoy, but right now they wipe out everything what we had from the plate, this update was rushed, an absolute fiasco just to release things before CitCon. The fact, game is basically unplayable, lmao.. Hope the following days will be more kind so they put the servers on feet and fix the mining aspect for us so we can pop that goddamn flare.. for the CULT!
Yea isn't that ridiculous.... I am thankful I have always been into mining because cargo hauling has been treated like the red headed stepchild for sure. Worse than that. I melted my msr for a similar reason even though I love the look and feel of the thing. It just has no place and hasn't had a place for a long time...
thanks for watching. When the next hotfix hits, ill let you guys know whats up in the discord. Also, once it gets fixed I have a new video waiting in the oven.
Believe it or not, we found 2 Nodes, one dolivine, one aphorite, one on wala and one i think hurston area. NOT WORTH IT at all right now. It is definitely broken for the time being. I think I am astronomically lucky for even finding what i found.
Not you my friend, I think we all thought the same thing. After all said and done, I scanned in total from when i first went out, till i made the video... 5+ hours? 3 clusters and 2 rock minables.
My entire experience of playing Star Citizen can basically be summed up as: Learning how to play around the bugs. I can appreciate this video (thank you!) but as someone who enjoys mining / salvaging I think I'll just give the game a pass until 4.0 is out. . . and maybe then a few hotfixes / patches to get 4.0 right.
As someone that has every mining ship in the game including the Orion, I have given up on mining until they release the game. As you can imagine, I work full-time and just do not have the time to learn all the work arounds for every different type of mining vehicle and it is killing me because I love mining in this game
Yea. I get it 100%. In 3.19.1 (what I consider the golden age) they had things working, everything was right and consistent, it was just....a blast. They need to get us back there, but I believe if they could do it then, they can do it again. It seems like these large system overhauls they keep doing bricks game loops on such a consistent basis though. Being honest though danger, if they fix this patch and make the modules actually work again; I do believe mining will be in a pretty good state. The question is how much do they really care about making mining in a consistently playable state?
absolutely, they keep beating the absolute piss out of mining. They gave us greatness with 3.19 and it steadily just dropped to nil. After they patch this rush job though, its going to be better than before, question is when will they patch and fix it. Now, Once that happens, day one Or night of (whatever) ill have a video out to prep you right. Its just waiting here....
Hi Elguapoe o7 ! Yea, unfortunately, everything is broken. We need to wait for some updates. What is a concern is not seeing mass from the pilot seat, they maybe completly remove that, pushing players to play together, and not go alone anymore in Mole, so you need to have someone in at least one side laser.
nah, thats not the case. This was a rush job. They absolutely rushed this patch out and didn't even add rocks to the planets. They broke the scanning, they broke the active modules, the one thing they did do intentionally for the mole and other industrial players was get rid of the gimbal finally and that aligned up the lasers. But as another user pointed out, it seems that we still have a little residual aim assist left over. If you dont know what the problem is with not knowing mass when scanning a rock but being able to somehow scan the depths of the rocks to tell you the exact percentage of the composition, idk what to tell you. There is also three lines saying "unknown" up in the top there if you watch the scan screen. Those lines will be populated with im assuming rock type "igneous, granite" maybe something like that, and certainly mass. They didn't put too much thought outside of the huds and that one thing they did on turrets when it came to mining this patch, they had much bigger fish to fry, just none of us knew they would do a rush job and destroy it so they could get a broken patch out before citcon. Now, if you remember they gave us the prospector mining hud in the pilot seat a few patches ago. I wasn't a fan tbh, why would argo use prospectors ui anyways, thats just a lazy change they made... Im good with them nixing that all together in the mole, better left for prospector for sure, but....to assume you shouldn't be able to scan from the pilot seat and see information such as mass size is a bit ridiculous. I also wouldn't be against showing all info only on those huds, but maybe allow the huds to work properly, 2 scanning huds open one left one right on separate pages, so far i can't get that to work (even though it doesn't matter in this moment anyways) but... lets go with your thought, you have a co pilot, maybe co pilot would see the more detailed info, pilot sees the base level. What is base level? Mass size, rock type. co pilot possibly sees composition and percentages as well as the others. There, fixed it in that scenario, you definitely dont want to be flying around with a person sitting in your literal mining laser if you are out flying and mining around though right? Even though i currently do that, thinking of the future...those are open turret ports, no windows, gets cold out there, that will kill your ass haha. So its gotta be the co pilot seat. ALLLLLL of those speculations aside, I believe they just rushed this bad ptu out, which anyone in evo and ptu had seen was garbage days before release and they still released it anyways. Sorry for the essay, but this is my complete thoughts. We will have rocks on surfaces again soon, active modules will be working again soon, the scanning wont be ass soon... At this point, just gotta wait it out and embrace the suck until they get over this citcon thing.
If mining is corrected... Do you advise to get a prospector or a solo mole ? I have the store credit after a melt for. I would like to know your final opinion. (Time etx ..) Thanks in advance and well done dor your great job.
@@Elguapoe thanks for your advice. 3 years ago I have mined a lot and for me it's less boring compared to the current salvage gameplay. But it's just my opinion

I really liked mining in 3.14 but they changed some things about it and I really just lost interest in mining from then on. They need to remember this is a game and it should have fun over reality. Mining is dull on top of that it's unrewarding in fun and pay out
Mining in 3.19.1 was miles better than the mining you remembered. It was practically the same system, except you had the ability to profit from more rocks. They added larger mass sizes that we could strive to break. Even in 3.24.1's state, it was so much better than what you remember. You used to do one of two things and look for the same exact thing and mining was in no way a challenge, it was a slog..when they get this rushed update patched and fixed you NEED to give it another shot. You are letting yourself down if you enjoyed mining and don't try out the new system. They didn't articulate these changes from 3.19.1 btw. Another massive change was the addition to something like 50-100 times the instability compared to what the rocks used to have making it more of a challenge and interesting. Just my two cents
the disconnect between the pipedream trailers of Citcon and the actual state of the PU is insane. i dont care about SQ42 and its parade of Hollywood actors. i dont care about Chris Roberts cringey cinematic writing. I don't care about player built space stations. they need to focus on making the PU a proper early access game. its just a mess. starting to just not care at all about SC.
