One of my fav leisure activities is to fly over A18 with my new ship. Dont know if it's been mentioned and I just missed it, but Arcorp has definitely gotten a minor makeover. There are more building types and domed towers in the city hubs, and now there are more white buildings instead of the sea of red. Looks absolutely amazing with the new clouds.

For real bro ! I was literally saying this to myself earlier today. I can't even use my quantum drive... this new power management system sucks and is bugged asf. Only thing that works for me is arena commander. And since this patch this game is crashing ALOT. And it didn't crash on me once before... Now it just straight up crashes out of nowhere. I also don't like the new cockpit interface. They had it much better last version, it was still buggy but it was enjoyable. Now it's just all round frustration.
If there's one thing that has jumped out at me from my first session in the new patch: when it comes to keybinds, LESS is actually more.. and CIG desperately needs to understand this and overhaul the keybinding organization with that in mind. I can't even bind the 'use' function to my gamepad either, like I can set it, it just doesn't do anything when I press it. Same thing goes for ship and ATLS tractor beams, a custom button to toggle the beam simply doesn't work. So.. given that they're still forcing gamepad users to switch to the mouse constantly, perhaps they could fix the infuriating bug that snaps your view by a random blend of a random number of 90° angles in a random direction every single time your character changes altitude while walking over terrain. Even the tiniest little bump or edge of a floor panel, any time you jump, go up or down a step on any staircase in the game, it doesn't seem to matter, your view will always instantly flip around to look straight up OR down EITHER facing backwards or forwards at complete random. It is a constant annoyance, and it has been in the game for literal years. There's plenty of cool new stuff in the patch, but as always it feels rushed and no effort has been made to address some very persistent issues with basic input that I have never experienced in another game.
I agree they really need to add rebinds for ship tractor beams. It's ridiculous that they've been out for a year and we still have to use a mouse and keyboard only. I set one of my flight stick triggers to mouse left click. It gets around a few keybind issues, but I still have to bust out the mouse for some things.
Honestly, the real fix is a 3rd party tool that allows you to generate the keybind files with a graphical representation of your flight equipment. And most importantly allow you to share files like steam has community keybinds so we as a community can develop the meta. My starting point for my keybinds in star citizen was from a generous player who gave out their base setup. But trying to navigate the menus while binding and then testing, then realizing you have conflicts and then having to figure out how to set up modifiers manually it's all really convoluted. And star citizen isn't the only one plagued by this, but it's probably the most egregious.
Tried testing it out last night, couldnt leave hab, then trains wouldnt show up, then couldnt spawn my ships, not only me but tons of others. I still dont get how updating MFDs and doing some other tweaks aftects elavators and spawning your ship? But idk im not a game dev.
Escape, key closing out of menus is such a lifesaver and something that I am surprised they did not do sooner because every time I’m in the menu, I stay pressing the escape key and get annoyed each and every time return to menu screen comes up
One change you mentioned is either an oversight or a big step back from CIG: only one fire button and you can only switch between your four groups? I hope not, they fixed that on PTU like 2 iterations ago by having four different bindings four all four groups.
@danielrose5641 Looks like it for now. it was only a small run to test it as I was getting ready for work, so I grabbed the 109scu from Magnus to Everus, and it went smoothly. I also docked at Everus without any problems. It even loaded the 1 scu box

Alpha3.24.2 seems very smooth. I love smooth patches where I can play without constant disruption and now I can FINALLY play with my buddies in our hangars.
My main question: Why haven’t you implemented personal apartments? For instance, go to the hab location, speak to the person so they allow you purchase a apartment or just provide one for testing like hangers for all who choose a residence & implant the same mechanic as the hanger but for apartments. I know the biggest obstacle is that the h augers are not in fixed locations and move in as we call them. So in sure they would have to do something there, but hey they can make us click the elevator button the same way & we enter our apartments as a luxury condo here in miami, via elevator. Then they can stick people in random buildings with views vs under the map.
So glad I got the Zeus back during IAE, this ship is so nice, and the little details on it are amazing. Now to make sure my alarms are set for the Citcon streams tomorrow
I’ve been looking forward to 3.24.2 for a while now, but I think the biggest and best surprise feature is easily the ESC button exiting menus without a doubt
They should mention in every patch note how 90% of the listed contents still won't function properly and will immediately be adding it to their bug list to be fixed 10 years down the road
I love the new hair additions. I finally have my Killmonger hairstyle. It might be a bit played out now for some. Yeah, everyone started using it after Black Panther 1. But it’s still one of my favorite hairstyles to use. The best birthday presents, are the ones you can use. In case the recipient doesn’t want it.😋🇺🇦🇭🇹🇵🇸

Damn that is a heavy update. No wonder it's taking so long to download. Lol "Star Citizen devs report drying funds, micromanagement, overspending, and episodic release for Squadron 42" .... you guys will need to buy somme new ships soon so Roberts and build some more offices. Obviously paid off industry moles/shills. Just proves CIGs unprecedented accomplishments have the gaming industry quivering for mommy. Youll be shaking when sandworm dlc ships as a pre alpha teaser that will be immediately downloadable as LTI token
Just one thing amongst many things is the reason why I can't play this patch until SURFACE MINING ROCKS come back. Everything else, to me, is garbage. I ONLY mine, and when I tried space mining around the Lagrange points, in the PTU, I exploded due to an invisible obstacle. I reported it and CIG did nothing. I'll be sitting this one out until they fix this game breaking bug.
I got in last night, or this morning, what ever. My C2's landing hear has no spring in it. It sits like the hydraulic fluid leaked out. Then it starts to roll. Yes...roll. you have to drop both ramps to make the ship sit flat.
Did CIG fix problems with Argo Cargo Pods mostly clipping through the cargo elevator floor and when touched with the tractor beam they would fall through the floor completely to never be seen again? If this is fixed that would be sweet 'cause I want to replace my Prospector Cargo Pods with the ones from Argo Mole but this bug prevented me from doing so.
I wish the MR was one of the versions released. I know they're waiting for prisoner gameplay, but all I have to say about that is "exploration gameplay". The MR seems like the perfect little "strike force" craft.
Please @BoredGamerUK, if you can, ask someone when, if ever, the 600i will get a re-work (especially with the exploration module) That would be so very much appreciated!
So, I fixed the lack of Primary Objectives and Markers for Merc and Bounty contracts! I checked my ssd and it was in the red! Deleted a program, Clipchamp - 84gig, and now I have quest markers again!!! Except for the 890 Boarding Action contract. That is just broken..........fix it..... I hope a keybind for Cargo Rotation with the Multi-tool is in there......but i know it isn't 😒
I know there are a lot of naysayers but having been following this project for the last decade, I think people don't give CIG enough credit. It looks to me like they're really finding their legs.
I agree. I've only been following for about 2 and a half years but what CIG is trying to do is a video game technical marvel if they pull this off. I dont have much complaints about my sessions. If I have an issue, I try jumping servers and if that don't work, I log off and do something else. But that's just me I would LOVE a better keybinding experience however.
I tried playing Live and it was a spectacular fail - 5 minutes to get out of bed . . . could not gear up. Maybe after a couple of days, it may be better?
Problems ii was having with live it will only run full screen in 4k. Been having that problem in PTU as well. The F key for interaction hasn't been working very well in ships any way for the last couple of days in PTU but haven't had a chance to check it live.
So far so good on CitizenCon. A little disappointed that there isn't a definitive update on SQ42, but the new tech looks pretty great. Thanks for the vid Bored and Zin. Be well everyone

I ONLY mine, and when I tried space mining around the Lagrange points, in the PTU, I exploded due to an invisible obstacle. I reported it and CIG did nothing. I'll be sitting this one out until they fix this game breaking bug.
Weird I've hit invisible asteroids maybe 3 times in a few years amd 2 of those were in a reclaimer
Hopefully I can get my joysticks working now that they've changed up some keybindings 🤞
Servers were swamped last night went it went live, hopefully by now they've settled down a bit.
Im exhausted just from imagining all those bugs awaiting for me.
The rework likely will take away pilot guns if the corsair is any indication…
@@Jerfish1 ''Will,'' is the correct answer, the pilot weapons are no longer game friendly, will get its rebalance soon enough.
Did the corsair pilot gun changes go through? On PTU the pilot could only control two of the four nose guns
I was only able to hop on for a few minutes last night and aside from the teething problems this patch feels crispy.
Yes i logged on and it was laggy AF, however i assume its everyone jumping on checking out the changes!
I am very much looking forward to a functioning Hull C and the accompanying gameplay.
Great rundown of the patch. Thanks.
So far the update is surprisingly stable!
That’s good to hear. Last night was a disaster, maybe they fixed the back end.
But that's just me
I would LOVE a better keybinding experience however.
Unfortunaley those legs they found were broken and crushed at the bottom of an elevator shaft that failed to fully render an elevator floor. :-P
Zeus is cool, but even with the nerf, I can't get enough Corsair.
Yah. I tried it out last night solo and it still rocks. :-)
Pyro is so close I can taste it 😋
I'm guessing nothing much has effectively changed, like just about every 'patch'..
Eh.
I tried playing Live and it was a spectacular fail - 5 minutes to get out of bed . . . could not gear up. Maybe after a couple of days, it may be better?
When the servers actually work, I'll look in to this patch.
Weapon groups are nice. Will be useful for targetting components with armour-piercing weaponry in the future!
Oddly, in my testing on the PTU, my MFD changes never persisted from one login to the next. Even storing and retrieving a ship reset the MFDs.
Same. Im expecting 1 of these upcoming patches to address that or add in the ability to save presets
I just want to be able to use my Carrack for mutirole and cargo....
Was there any discussion of fixing ships with non accessible cargo holds?
Have fun at CitCon! I look forward to your coverage!
Great to meet you tonight!
I can’t wait for tomorrow cya there!
Excellent overview. Always appreciated thank you.
