And as far LGBT romance option that had exist in both Mass Effect and Dragon Age, it’s an RPG, the player has the right to love/sleep with any character they want. The power goes to them, that’s the genre. You’re confusing the WOKE version of “progressive” that has infest the gaming industry, transforming it into the abomination it is today. But saying BioWare wasn’t progressive is a complete lie. But it was never a bad thing, because it was done right. Fans of BioWare who brought these past games to success has already proven that. Some other author pushed the idea and convinced Gaider (he refused at first) and other team members, that the world (and player) must face some inevitable force. Well, he did a great job implementing this concept. Now just imagine DAO without the grey wardens and darkspawn, what will be left? The chantry against mages theme and that’s it. It will still have a realistic tone to it and great politics, but would feel much closer to a generic fantasy, if you ask me.

Their response "New Players might of been overwhelmed with the choices" has confirmed my suspicion. This game is not for us fans, its for newer and younger players. Everything about the art design and simplicity of the game play , along with what the statements from the developer is the proof. It is what it is, not much we can do about it other than not purchase the game.
Instead of overwhelming choices, let's dumb it down to Fallout 4 levels, where the extra dialogue options mean the exact same as the first two. And at the end of the day, the differences from any of them is just superficial.

But I too enjoyed her character, she is tough as nails, commands respect, protective, isn't afraid to admit she's wrong when proven so, humble, and will get things done when needed, but is also a diehard romantic who loves gushy romance novels like Varic’s Swords and Shields that she keeps secret. She is nowhere near the girl-boss troupe that would make her, otherwise, insufferable. I too romanced her in my games. She even hands the power of command over to the player, acknowledging her flaws and her inability to lead.

The sad truth about gamedevs is they are weak, they crave acceptance and praise. Most developers found clout and acceptance for the first time in their lives by talking trash about the audience among an emerging post grad group right out of subversive education centers, and they finally got to feel the moral highs for being the good guys after a life of developing games in a cave, alienated and alone. Now they are addicted, they drank from the well of tribalism so deeply that they can't go back, they can't acknowledge that they have turned into the bully that gave them wedgies and wet willies long ago. To acknowledge the damage they have done to this industry would be too much to bear. All their lives they have been the vulnerable, the victims. That is their identity. They cannot process the hurt and damage that they have caused to this world stroking one another's egos all these terrible years. Gamedevs are not strong and principled people, they are weak and fallible which is why they are able to hide away and become slaves to these flights of fancy.

I used to work for one small game development studio and in my limited experience I would say that yes, there are some people like that, but a lot of them are not. Heck, half the company was engineers and probably wouldn't even know what to do with that kind of attention. The artists were moreso (they WERE artists, after all). And the designers were hit and miss, though certainly we had a few whose egomania was off the charts even in our small studio. And then you get the number-crunching executives and things can get a little crazy. Some teams would produce a hit and just be proud and happy that people liked their work, but the guy who ran the tester team thought he was a god among men. People are people no matter where you go.

Its the drug dealer vs drug addict mentality. The drug dealer cuts/dilutes his product because he knows his addict customers will always come back for more. Even if the purity of the product is crap. They are addicts afterall and they need their fix. At some point the game industry adopted that same mentality towards their customers. Because games are addictive aswell. But seeing how Dragon Age is being treated i am very worried how my beloved Mass Effect 5 will be treated. Hey, i played DA-O and i loved it. One of the best games ever made! DA2 was ok, but not as good as origins. DA-I was good too. So i was excited to hear about the franchise being continued, but what i've seen so far disappoints me so much i can't even express myself. I just hope Bioware goes bankrupt as other woke studios experienced the consequence of going that dumb route and they are forced to sell their IPs. Maybe, and i am inhaling a huge amount of copium now, a studio buys the DA IP and remakes DA-O. (yes, i'd be fine if Bioware does it too if they survive and realized that the woke road just leads to selfdestruction)

Breaks my heart what happened to Dragon Age. I was looking forward to this game back when I beat Inquisition. It wasn't the best DA game but I still had fun. I really wanted to go to war with Solas in the next game but once I heard we weren't even going to be playing the Inquisitor my heart broke and I no longer care. Then I heard that the Inquisitor was corrupt..... even though I made sure that didn't happen in my gameplay... Like what is the point of "Failguard"?
One of the best aspects of the game was that choices taken in previous entries carried over but i guess they were too lazy to code different approaches.

the "migration" from twitter to the other platform is due to a twitter policy update. The new policy basically states that the copyrights to everything uploaded to twitter (images, clips etc) automatically go to twitter. That's why a lot of game devs left twitter because if they upload let's say promotional images or really anything they give away the their copyrights... More or less in a nutshell.
17:20 Yeah, this is cope. You don't need to "Warm up to it eventually" if the thing is great to begin with. This is just the words of a developer who got shafter so often that he got used to it and is now fine seeing changes he doesn't personally like. Dragon Age, for me, got worse with every iteration. I loved Origins. DA2 left me scratching my head about what happened, and DA:I - I couldn't even finish the first act, it was so bad. Now this - I don't want to play Veilguard even if they PAY me those $70 to do it.
On a positive note: I am playing Metaphor right now and it dosent need sex to make you feel emotionally attached to your companions, that happens watching them grow as people and it's actually inspiring
I never liked Dragon Age beyond Origins, but as someone that loved and consumed Tomb Raider since 1996 and saw the brand being turn to crap to fit mOdeRn AuDieNcEs, I know how the fans of Dragon Age are feeling. The industry are not learning, they believe they are trully moving foward, modernising for the new consumers, but games industry are dying. It would be dead already, if it wasn't for Black Rock's money. But it will die eventually, 'cause mOdeRn AuDieNcEs only plays fortinite and CS2. And, when they are too old to play fortinite anymore, they will stop playing videogames.

Some other author pushed the idea and convinced Gaider (he refused at first) and other team members, that the world (and player) must face some inevitable force. Well, he did a great job implementing this concept. Now just imagine DAO without the grey wardens and darkspawn, what will be left? The chantry against mages theme and that’s it. It will still have a realistic tone to it and great politics, but would feel much closer to a generic fantasy, if you ask me.

The sad truth about gamedevs is they are weak, they crave acceptance and praise. Most developers found clout and acceptance for the first time in their lives by talking trash about the audience among an emerging post grad group right out of subversive education centers, and they finally got to feel the moral highs for being the good guys after a life of developing games in a cave, alienated and alone. Now they are addicted, they drank from the well of tribalism so deeply that they can't go back, they can't acknowledge that they have turned into the bully that gave them wedgies and wet willies long ago. To acknowledge the damage they have done to this industry would be too much to bear. All their lives they have been the vulnerable, the victims. That is their identity. They cannot process the hurt and damage that they have caused to this world stroking one another's egos all these terrible years. Gamedevs are not strong and principled people, they are weak and fallible which is why they are able to hide away and become slaves to these flights of fancy.

I used to work for one small game development studio and in my limited experience I would say that yes, there are some people like that, but a lot of them are not. Heck, half the company was engineers and probably wouldn't even know what to do with that kind of attention. The artists were moreso (they WERE artists, after all). And the designers were hit and miss, though certainly we had a few whose egomania was off the charts even in our small studio. And then you get the number-crunching executives and things can get a little crazy. Some teams would produce a hit and just be proud and happy that people liked their work, but the guy who ran the tester team thought he was a god among men. People are people no matter where you go.

I waited to much for the next Mass Effect and went crazy hyped after that last mysterious trailer and the leaked images of the Alliance Relays.
But seeing how Dragon Age is being treated i am very worried how my beloved Mass Effect 5 will be treated.
I can only hope Veilguard will be a massive wake up call for EA and Bioware so they do it right for next Mass Effect

DA2 was ok, but not as good as origins.
DA-I was good too. So i was excited to hear about the franchise being continued, but what i've seen so far disappoints me so much i can't even express myself.
I just hope Bioware goes bankrupt as other woke studios experienced the consequence of going that dumb route and they are forced to sell their IPs.

Breaks my heart what happened to Dragon Age. I was looking forward to this game back when I beat Inquisition. It wasn't the best DA game but I still had fun. I really wanted to go to war with Solas in the next game but once I heard we weren't even going to be playing the Inquisitor my heart broke and I no longer care.
Then I heard that the Inquisitor was corrupt..... even though I made sure that didn't happen in my gameplay... Like what is the point of "Failguard"?
One of the best aspects of the game was that choices taken in previous entries carried over but i guess they were too lazy to code different approaches.

the "migration" from twitter to the other platform is due to a twitter policy update. The new policy basically states that the copyrights to everything uploaded to twitter (images, clips etc) automatically go to twitter. That's why a lot of game devs left twitter because if they upload let's say promotional images or really anything they give away the their copyrights... More or less in a nutshell.

Dragon Age, for me, got worse with every iteration. I loved Origins. DA2 left me scratching my head about what happened, and DA:I - I couldn't even finish the first act, it was so bad. Now this - I don't want to play Veilguard even if they PAY me those $70 to do it.
On a positive note: I am playing Metaphor right now and it dosent need sex to make you feel emotionally attached to your companions, that happens watching them grow as people and it's actually inspiring

I never liked Dragon Age beyond Origins, but as someone that loved and consumed Tomb Raider since 1996 and saw the brand being turn to crap to fit mOdeRn AuDieNcEs, I know how the fans of Dragon Age are feeling. The industry are not learning, they believe they are trully moving foward, modernising for the new consumers, but games industry are dying. It would be dead already, if it wasn't for Black Rock's money. But it will die eventually, 'cause mOdeRn AuDieNcEs only plays fortinite and CS2. And, when they are too old to play fortinite anymore, they will stop playing videogames.
