      Been workout since h.s. (Football) until now. No injuries but changed up from moderate to extensive or heavy during the years. Shock the body and never stay in a routine. My motto is KYB which stands for know your body. I live in Queens and I used travel to Sheepshead Bay a lot to visit my grandparents who were from St. Petersburg. Yes, now at 58 I tend to do more body weight exercises and I still hit the dumbbells once in a while. No longer lift heavy as I try to stay lean. Full rotation of joints and heavy joints is KEY. Many of my friends my age have lost interest in working out so I tend to work out with 25 year olds. I guess I get my dedication from my Army career. Keep up with your content.

    • @angelos.9690
      @angelos.9690 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IrishJJ27 I run several marathon but half marathon is my favorite distance. In the past I though that burpees could be too exhausting especially for endurance athletes, but after watched many videos of Iron wolf, I have been inspired and my first impression on Burpees and run is very positive.
      Often who run long distance, have stamina in the legs but not almost reactivity. Reactivity of the Muscles is important to improve the performance, but above all to prevent injury.
      Burpees helps to build harmonious muscles.
      Sorry for my bad English.
      Regards from Italy

    • @IrishJJ27
      @IrishJJ27 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Angelo, your English is better than 90% of Americans. Running and burpees are definitely synergistic! After a hard 45-60 burpee session i feel like I have run 6 to 10 miles. They work you as hard but without the pounding! I have bursitis in my left hip and 2 torn meniscus. Burpees dont bother me at all. If i run more than a mile, my knees and hip freaking kill!

    Not that I'm an official "expert," but I've been working out religiously for basically my entire life, started at 12 as a chubby pre-teen and am now 51. This is all great advice: it's about basics, no fancy equipment; it focuses on clean reps, not speed per se (I quit kipping any reps!); it balances pushing and pulling exercises with straight cardio; train every day or most days; nutrition is balanced, eat carbs early, skip the garbage foods, reward yourself intermittently; supplements are overrated, unless they fill a real gap in your needs; don't ignore the mind-body connection. Thanks, Iron Wolf, for reinvigorating my passion for basic grinder-style workouts. If I stick with your workouts, I notice a typical cycle is that I begin pretty optimistically, then I reach a saturation point where I begin to doubt my ability to complete, then I see a light at the end of the tunnel and finish strong. Sort of like anything worth doing in life, huh? Can't wait to feel confident and fit enough to take on one of your truly epic burpee routines! Thanks!

    Been loving this channel, and getting my friends on it too during lockdown. Been weightlifting/running for years, but the fitness and physicality of these burpee workouts has been amazing. My previous experience in tightly controlled intermittent bursts of high resistance or long sustained runs has left me weak in doing dynamic work involving more of my body at once, and doing these burpees helped expose a new and exciting dimension to grow in. Thanks for the videos!

      @@caucasoid5645 youre right! its just the verbiage of fatigue resistance holds a little more weight than conditioning. I think everyone wants to be "conditioned" but fatigue resistance is different. thats just my opinion! but yes correct.

    I just finished a 30 day burpee challenge 75 per day. Watching your videos and you saying you've done burpees for years when you were starting out and the importance of conditioning makes me feel I am on the right track. I have got discipline covered. Just have to keep going and keep at this. Gonna take up this alt. day burpee challenge for 60 days. But I am vegetarian trying to build strength and conditioning without taking any supplements. This video helped me to focus again on eating right. May be some nuts and veg. sources of protein. Thanks 🐺👊🏻

    You made some good points bro. I would say tho that recovery is essential, that’s when most of the gains happen. Every exercises has to be progressed or regressed properly and safely. As far as supplements go, you don’t need them, but they do help. Everyone go do your research and never take anyone’s world for anything.

    You're the only youtuber fitness related I really enjoy so far the reason for that is that you aim the same things I do, strong, agile and fast also you're in the military which is pretty much what I like. The way you train isn't unhealthy like other fitness youtubers that look big and totally out of reality they even recommend people to take steroids sometimes. You're doing great!

    Hit it on the head with the fatigue resistance part. Remember the key to that is efficiency of movement. You need proper movement patterns before anything else! My favorite is ten sets of ten squats with strict 2 min rest periods all while keeping proper form! Your form degrades the reps don’t count! Throw 50% of your 1rm max on and it’s tough

    That's right. I can only do high rep burpees and calisthenics in the morning on an empty stomach after drinking a liter of water for energy. I feel lighter in my gut. My drive is my instinct to survive and to counterattack all the internal pain. Like a starving neantherdal hunting for mammoth and rewarding himself with a feast right after. The rest of the day is to eat 2-3 adequate meals and paper chasing. Stay solid Arthur.

    I think it’s good advice you’ve given here for Newbies do Burpees every other day or 2-3 times a week. Maybe beginner level starting at 50-100 Burpees, Intermediate 200-400, advanced 500-1000 per session. Then maybe over time it might be possible for people do Burpee workouts like yourself 4-6 days a week.
