One of the valves came loose and I was not able to pump any steam it just dripped water from the base How I fixed my Shark Steam mop Model S3501 part 2 • How I fixed my Shark s...
Thank you for the video. I manage to open mine, it was leaking from the tube that supplies water to the steamer. After finding the problem, it was easy to fix, but unscrewing the cover was a bitch. Thanks and thanks again.
Thanks for sharing. I'm having the same symptoms. Waiting for our mop to cool and I will check it out. We heard a loud pop followed by dirty water and no pressure. When I called Shark, they only offered for me to clear it out if it were clogged. They told me nothing about this but did try and sell me a newer model. It appears their customer service can use improvement.
SAME PROBLEM - same LOUD POP. Same response from customer service - to clear it with a paper clip. didn't work of course. I was also going to toss mine so I'm glad to have found this. When it cools down I will take it apart.
Love that you did it without tools...go get yourself some and hide them...going to try to attach hose with a very small cable tie...hope it works...Thanks for the tip
I too have the same steamer and i love it I have had mine close to 4 years, and same thing happen. So im going try and take apart and hopefully my hose came off to. thanks
So awesome that you checked it out yourself. Didn't wait for that husband. Lol BUT...I was waiting to see if it worked! Wish you could've let us see the result!
You seem pretty damn handy for someone who doesn't have a screwdriver! You should have a whole toolbox of your own. I bet it's fixed. I'll try that on mine. (And I have a screwdriver! LOL)
I was actually ready to throw mine out and buy a replacement but think I might just try this out in the morning. Seems like it might be the same problem as mine. Hopefully it does the job. Thanks.
mine won't light up/heat up. the blue light no longer functions. it dribbles cold water, but won't make steam. its a shark hand steamer, little different - any insight?
I recently experienced the same issue but cannot get the screws out! Any recommendations on what to use? My mop is out of warranty of course so would be great to figure out if it's an easy repair!
+Joy Stuckey depends on the model but some of the screw are hidden behind the shark emblem (2 screws) and the top spray button cover (2 screws) just peel back the sticky pads to expose them
+Brandon E Wright I think the spring in the hose is to stop it crimping when it bends. I don't think it is a strong enough spring to push the hose off--more likely the steam pressure did it (possibly caused by a clogged outlet?).
+Kevin Bartlett We have a water softener and we had only used the mop 2 times before it broke on the 3rd use. I checked the outlet and there was no buildup. When I tried to put the hose back on I was prevented from doing so because of the spring. I had to compress the spring while lining up the hose and holding the clamp open; too much to do in such a small space. I removed the spring and the hose went on easily. Perhaps the heat causes the spring to expand more than expected?
I hope this fix works for mine. But for sure, I won't buy another SHARK product. It is such a common problem you would think customer service would know about it wouldn't you? I had only used mine maybe 10 times before this happened. BUT it was out of warranty.
Go ahead girl 👍🏾 Ima bout to take mine apart. " I asked my husband to do it but he didn't want to " 🤣👏🏾

OK my hose was broken. Easy fix. No need to buy a new one. I wonder how many of these steamers have been thrown out with the same issue. Thanks again.

Hey way to go! I hope it worked for you ...this same thing happened to my shark so I am going to attempt to do what you have done! thanks!!

Oh my goodness same story here. I am going to try that. I bought my mop two years ago for $30 on black Friday. No way I want to replace it full price.
thanks, great advice
I love you let nothing stop you - what a clever woman you are :-)
Thanks!
+AdleneH89 You go girl!! Great job...n hey...+Taffy Dugan...men do incredible..out of the hat stuff too!!
They need make that nozzle longer so it won't pop out!!!
Thanks so much!
What tool did you use to take the 6 screws out. It isn’t Phillips and my star set won’t fit either
I agree. ok I have a question. Where do I go to get a replacement hose? Went to homedepot and Ace hardware. Neither had a hose that would work.
Brilliant!
What screw or screwdriver did you use to open up the back?
thank you!

This was exactly what was wrong with ours. There was a spring in the hose and I imagine that that is what slowly pushed the hose out.

HAVE TO ADD. YOU GO GIRL. I love it when women "don't need a man to fix it". yes indeedy.

did it work after all?
I did the same thing not sure where to get a new
What did you use to get the screws out?
Need a long screw driver
legit result following this direction
I will try to make it work
yes
i will lend you my tools
pressure builds up than this happens its annoying
If you go to the Shark steam mop site there will be a phone number and believe it or not they will sell you a new one for $99.00!
seriously a person can not go buy the right screw driver? What a religious doctrine never do anything right?
Lol
