That was the best match I've seen this year............wow..........thanks for posting.
Seemed like a quick pin call but, give credit where credit is due. This was a hard fought match and Aaron had 3 opportunities to seal this match. Ragusen just seized the opportunity. Nice work
I actually thought it was a late pin call to be honest
@@pfsman35the ref counted way too fast on the danger count but, Aaron was pretty damn flat on his back so in the end it didn’t matter because it didn’t look like Aaron was going anywhere either lol
What a brilliantly called match... Well done, Sir.
Rajusin seems like a nice kid, in the inerview after the match it seems like that win made his season. Nagao has a stong jiu jitsu background which means he is comfortable being on his back briefly, this time it bit him in the ass. He took out 12 ranked wrestlers as a true freshman last year, he will be fine.
Well that backfired😅😅 already lost at the championships
@@devoncasebolt9111 Penn State bounced back nicely going 10 for 10 last night. Literally just crushing every program in the country
@@BabyBrands60056 tough loss for Davis, wanted to see him in the finals
Jeff Byers is the voice of wrestling!
Quick pin call, but it would have been clearly danger rule in that position. Nagao was in trouble either way in OT
One mississipppi two . . . pin
@@cdrtej I agree with the call! Just making the point for those claiming it was bogus
Way too quick for a pin call. Danger count for sure. He was on his back for 2 seconds at most. Nagao was still fighting for a takedown.
@@jbrowne9357he was flat on his back for like 2 seconds this isn’t high school rules
@@jbrowne9357even in the high school rule book a two count is what is needed for a pin and this is college
What a match! Can't wait to see how this one plays out in March!(if it happens)
I hope Ragusin places top 3 this year. He is a beast and wrestles hard. He has had a tough go of it at 133. Fix got 4th last year! Time for everyone from last year to improve 3-4 rankings each.
He was flat. That’s the game he plays, and this time it back fired. He’s great at scrambles and he’s great at rolling on his back, but this time he got caught. . . Aside from the pin, I’m surprised he got rode for all two minutes.
they hit ragusin for locked hands once, but i thought i saw the official call locked hands twice; the first time when ragusin got hit for stalling.
Both of those guys are incrdible.
Aaron will definitely beat him when it counts !!!!
He just got caught in a bad position. Happens to the best of us. He’ll get him come NCAAs for sure
3:03 interesting . . . .
Great look at a great match, much appreciated
Thanks for uploading!
No problem! 👍
Awesome match. AG is the better and more offensive wrestler. Won’t be surprised if he dominates him on a rematch, and again. Great edit/upload
Yes thank you for posting.
great match. very different styles. ngao will get pinned a lot at higher levels if he does not stop entering unsound positions.
What a match dude, hopefully Nagao can turn it around in March.
Great match...
That was an all time great match with a shocking ending.
Wow, what a match
Tough call by a very well respected Ref, I am OK with it.
I dunno about Angel Rivera being well respected.
He’s literally the worst ref in wrestling douche bag!🤣🤡
One on One love it 🇺🇸
Ya if penn state was a country and you count all the guys that wrestled for them they would be like world champs in wrestling Sanderson does not let his guard down but he knows what he is doing
Realistically the only team that could beat. Penn is Iowa they have a great team this year they might beat penn
Great match
What are the commentarys on, Levi gave up multiple takedowns against an unranked guy recently
"As long as Nagao doesnt get pinned" .. oops
Byers with the jinx.
Angel is the worst ref in the NCAA! No way that he was pinned! He didn’t even take the time to look at the other shoulder!
Nagao was in pretty bad position multiple times in those scrambles. I think he just got outmuscled there at the end.
Cael must be putting something in the water at wrestling practice his crew continues to just get better and better every freaking year, penn is not happy with winning by 1 point they put on a clinic, im a Iowa fan so unfortunately I'm not a fan of the school but there wrestlers are top notch, im thinking of jumping ship because iowa, my team, I am so tired of all of them being okay with being up by 1 point and then it's like they stop wrestling, I just don't get it? Real woods the number 1 ranked wrestler on there squad comes out hot and gets a takedown and then he's like oh im up ok I'm good match over, anyways penn go get em
did the scorer's table miss a locked hands on ragusin in the 2nd period? i thought the official called 2 locked hands that period. the first one 5:38 and the second one at 6:40.
The first one was a stalling call. The second was the locked hands call.
@@xzjayz7925 is it not possible to call stalling and locked hands? he clearly locks around the leg right before the official blows it dead and the announcer says ragusin was called for stalling. the officials hands are out of frame, so i can't see what he is signaling.
@@MarkCornelius-x5t so when he locks, he’s putting himself into a position to where he’ll be unable to let go of the leg. Which I don’t believe is illegal or considered locking hands. However, since he is now unable to let go, the ref counts to 5 and he is stalling.
Now this Ref is known for being a pretty good one compared to the other garbage we get. So I trust he knows what locked hands looks like but again everyone is human and makes mistakes. Considering he’s staring directly at them and announcer says Ragusin was “holding” hence the 5 second stall call. Also once you get a stall call (per the 5 second rule) you have to stop the match. So that could be why he didn’t give him the locked hands as well. Those are the only two possibilities and the ladder seems more likely.
I hope this helps.
@@xzjayz7925 i thought if he is still in top position and they are on the mat, he is not allowed to lock around the leg, similarly to how he was not allowed to wrap around the chest at the end of the period.
just looked up the rule. couldn't find the official ncaa rulebook, but what i have gathered says he can lock around 1 leg, but not both legs.
5:38 was a stall call. The ref was not showing the locking hands sign.. he was showing the stall on top which is the ref grabbing his wrist. It looks similar to locking hands, but its a different sign. The reason for this is to tell the table to pause riding time since you do not accumulate riding time when called for stalling.
His shoulders were both on the mat, so it was a right call. But the duration those shoulders on the mat was like one half a second, not sure that really counts. In high school, your shoulders need to be on the mat for like 2-3 full seconds to get called a pin. So when wrestlers are bouncing around to get off a pin, those short spurts moments never count.
Michigan lost to South Dakota state.. they're not that good
That was a bs stall warning against Ragusin.
I think it was a good call
What a dog fight...2 even lying matched wrestlers..
TBH I WAS EXCITED HAVING AN AA IN NAGAO TRANSFER TO PSU BUT HE'S BEEN NOTHING BUT A DISAPPOINTMENT SO FAR. I THINK WE SHOULD LET SOMEONE ELSE WRESTLE INSTEAD OF NAGAO.
That pin call was bullshit.
how can you tell from the angle we have? the official was in better position than the cameraman to see if he was flat.
Hmm 🤔
Nope
He looked flat but the key is, he wasn’t moving. You absolutely cannot stay static like that if you are close to being pinned. Gotta keep moving to show that your opponent isn’t controlling your shoulders.
It was a fall.
I’m sorry but that was a bullshit call 😮😮😮
Nope
Flat
He might have been pinned but he was already calling the fall as he was dropping to the mat. I've seen him take 30 seconds looking at guys who were flat multiple times during the sequence and still not call the fall.
Way too quick for a pin call. Danger count for sure. He was on his back for 2 seconds at most. Nagao was still fighting for a takedown. You cant call that in SV.
Wow, what a fall.
