I love how you show the reality of working on things. The switch snafu for instance. You didn't have to show that but you did. I hate the DIY shows that all the work is done during the commercials and your wife wants it done this weekend because "you just do it like this"! Do me a favor. Put some sidewalls on these tires! no bigger than 16" wheels with 33s :o)

When I first saw this, I thought crap, he's doing another bumper. Once I started watching it, I was pulled in by the great work you do as well as the good production of the video. The quality you put into everything you do is always amazing. Another fantastic job. I can't wait to see what you do with the 4Runner.

If you ran the light wires through the factory grommet that’s by the brake booster, you’re gonna want to fab up a cover over the grommet. The windshield drains directly on the wires there, and any added wire through that grommet will cause the water to run into the cab and soak the carpet. Happens to everyone that’s ran wires through there, including me.

White vinegar is the easiest way to get millscale off. Soak a towel, cover with plastic, leave on for a day then hose off. Do the whole sheet before you start. Way easier than grinding.

You should try using bar soap on your sanding pads. Using the soap is like using cutting oil with a drill but it wash off more easily without leaving a residue that paint won't stick to.

You can use a hard stone grinding wheel to cut of mill scale and then a flap disk to sand it smooth, or another sanding tool, but a hard stone will last so much longer.

i use vinegar to remove mill scale. when the parts are flat i put them in a kids swimming pool (or smaller container) with just enough vinegar to cover them for 24 hours. take them out and just rinse them off with water and the mill scale will fall off. i use a second pool as a lid and i keep the vinegar till it gets slow. you can use other stronger acids but there not safe around kids and pets so i dont use them.

Another fantastic meticulous job, your work always comes out great. I do a lot of tinkering in my shop, it always seems that someone is hitting me up to build a bumper or something for their vehicle and I usually Raptor line it. I don't know if this would help, when I epoxy primer I always use black Omni MP172 this way if somebody gets Wild and chips the Raptor liner it's kind of hard to tell with the black epoxy under it. Anyways keep the videos coming I really like watching them you are very blessed with your talents!

I learned to weld after deciding not to replace a stock front bumper on a '01 4Runner. Too bad I didn't come across your channel sooner before I welded a MOVE bumper. Bare steel rusts much faster when you remove the mill scale. You'll get better welds when you remove mill scale it. Taking it all off is, as you said, overkill, aka a waste of time. If you were going to apply a finish coat of smooth, high gloss paint for a street rig that would be a great touch. I don't think taking it off for the sake of taking it off is productive.
