You can only say withdrawing money from ATMs is the most convenient way to get money, but not the most cost-effective way. Like almost everything else, the more convenient, the more costly. I disagree. I find it completely charming. It reminds me of the expressive grace and elegance of traditional Thai dance. She is speaking a different language and being expressive, with better flair than you could probably speak her language. Maybe it would be annoying from somebody with a bad attitude, but from this friendly ambassador from the land of smiles it is totally welcomed in my book.
POS using credit cards are prohibitive because of very high minimum purchase. I eat alone but minimum is 500 baht . Even 7/11 stores ' minimum is 200 baht

Best way is with cash or some kind of debit/credit card.
Thailand has separate "wallets" here that you would have to transfer funds into.
