I am Mongolian and I've thought that reindeer Dukha people speak more of paleo-Siberian or Turkic dialects but when I listen to them they speak more like Mongolian dialect. But probably it is somehow recent transformations of their language
This was Beautiful! I can't believe their dedication, wow and here Some of us think that, we've done something out of Ordinary, by going Steelhead or Salmon fishing in the Rain or Cold winter day!! I'm Sure no Cold weather that I've experienced, comes even Close to their Extreme cold!! Can Someone at "SLICE", tell me, what species of fish that was, to me with limited View, it looked like either a Salmonid or maybe an Unusual "Strain"/Race of Arctic Char!! I'll formally give Credit in a book that I'm writing!! Thanks 😊
This is in Khuvsgul. So it should be one of the lenok, salmon or sturgeon. We call them “white fish”. But I don’t know much about fish. So I don’t know 😅
There is another method of pulling a net under the ice that was used in North American. It is using a diver board that when pulled heads down at a steep angle and then floats up at a slant away from you. You keep working it until you can get the string at the other hole and then use it to pull the net . Having ice you can see through is pretty important hear either way. Guess you could also make the second hole when you have reached your extent instead of having to steer it to hit an existing hole.
They are just having fun. They were saying it is good that ice is not that thick here and telling each other instructions such as push to the right , to left. Seems quite a team work. 😁
these guys need a frabill sponsorship, give them rods fish finders ice shelters and a lil buddy heater! i bet they would catch way more if they used a rod and jigged.
These people call themselves as "Tsaatan" but they are termed as "Dukha Turks" by anthropologists. I'm from Turkey and I caught common words occasionaly when they were speaking. They've kept our original lifestyle and stayed close to our ancestral homeland in eastern Siberia (Orkhon). We've moved westward and settled in Anatolia, our Turkic dialect (Oghuz Turkic) taken many loanwords from the neighboring people, so much so that we cannot communicate with the original Turks nowadays.
This is my first time seeing a man riding in a raindeer.🤔 Looking so Cool & weird man 😍 Imagine the temperature over there and while we are using cooler/Ac to make ourselves cold here.
I’m from Minnesota and have ice fished all my life. This is outstanding ‘technology’. However, I’m not sure how badass cold it is. You can’t see their breath. The air has to be incredibly dry. And around a lake and woods, that’s doubtful. It’s a mistake movies make all the time. That said, these men are badass anyway.
@@dejavu666wampas9 also mongolia is inland, it does not have a coastline. So less moisture. Anyway it is below freezing with a lot of wind, so it is definitely cold enough to freeze the fish
@@eveneeee -Good points all. Internet civility is a thing for me, so thanks for being civil and not calling me names or telling me to go to hell. Below freezing I’ll grant you. BLAST freezing, as the OP stated, is a stretch. Maybe you’ll get blast freezing, but I’m not sure. I’ve ice fished when it was pretty cold, and it took a bit for the fish to freeze. For sure, these guys are getting blasted by the wind. I’ve got no beef with the OP; sorry if I offended you, Mr Coughlan. They deserved to catch more for all that hard work.
Yeah, kinda like crabs, more work than the calories you get from it.
🤓🍻
thats how fishing is tho, maybe from time to time they catch some good fish(bigger) but there are times when they fish only a handful or nothing.
and to think that thousands of years ago these people conquered and ruled most of the earth :/
They will probably reuse the holes. It looks similar to it’s done in Scandinavia by those few who winter fish with nets
