Letting go of the cubs to save them from Chinese slaughter is so noble . He has no greed for money although his family is in much need of it . @@dansome3563 it is because of herding style. In these kind of mountain range, herders usually do not harvest grass for winter. They prefer to move to the place with rich amount of grass. Their ancestors were the best warriors in the history of mankind. Another exquisitely beautiful documentary from Slice. I'm moved by the love this man has for his land and the land of his ancestors, how he cared for the wolf cubs, how he fears the disappearance of their way of life. The wolf like man is both angel and devil.
That is true but why?Jesus gave the answer when he told the disciples James and John you do not not what spirit you are under. The devils spirit was influencing them at that moment but they did not know it .Hence strive to know your maker so you can recognize the spirit yourself and others may be under for it holds the key to your entrance into eternity.Go deep it pays off.
Hard working families. Dedicated parents. I very much admire the respect the older man and woman had for the balance between nature and man. And, their understanding of what they had to do to survive. They showed no hatred towards the wolf cubs and set them free. Excellent video.
I am from Bangladesh, a country geographically, culturally opposite from Mongolia, but man I cried and my jaw dropped. Thanks slice for making this amazing documentary. 🌼🌼❤️
Truly enjoyed the documentary. I was born and raised up in a nomadic family in a gobi desert. It's been more than 7 years since I left my hometown to abroad for an education. My parents are still keeping this nomadic life. However, it's been nearly 3 years no raining. The livestock and herders are suffering due to the climate change effect.
@@tiffanyperry3671 Video is shot in North Mongolia, the Gobi desert is in South Mongolia. Similar to Montana and Texas for U.S terms lol but with colder temperatures.
Where in abroad, China? I wasn’t aware these nomads made that much money to be able to send kids to abroad. These people lead very minimal life. You must be from a city in the south. I was also sent abroad years ago as I’m not in teens anymore lol but my parents especially my dad was quite successful (now retired), and even though I live in G7 country (top three economy of the world), not everyone can send kids to abroad as it cost hundreds of thousands to send a kid to a boarding school. I’m pretty sure I costed them a lot of money. Lol.
It seems that their nomadic life is a real freedom. Moving around following the changes of seasons. I can see myself being happy in this kind of existence. No need to worry about my skin care and what I look like going outside. Freedom from within and the unrealistic expectations of beauty in this very plastic world.
Yep, it's the same fight. I've recently watched a documentary about modern young tree climbers in Puerto Rico, who also educate about the nature, role and extinction of rain forests, teach about the relationship of humans with nature and there are also moments in video when they get emotional and teared up when they talk about the issues. Beautiful stuff, highly recommend.
I cried with the Old Man. I don't know how but I feel in my heart and mind what he feels when he speaks his heart and mind. I wish I was living in his kind of nature. I wish I had the privilege to talk to a wise man as this Old Man.
One of the most remarkable and touching documentaries I have ever watched on the Mongolian nomadic people, this touched my heart ❤ and made me 😢 as well. What a difficult life and these lovely people are so in tune with their animals and the land. Here in Canada we have domestic and stray animals put down in large numbers, not to mention all the strays because we are too selfish to look after them properly. This old man is a real treasure. He could teach us westerners alot about life and love of mankind and animals. ❤ from 🇨🇦 Canada and thanks for this most beautiful documentary 😊
My husband's mission statement in life. We lived in a small town when first married. It was torture. I have never seen him so depressed, restless, & dull....We live back in the country (in the house I grew up in), raise hogs, chickens, turkeys, & work on a beef cow farm. We say we could never live in a town again. Wide open Spaces. We call the suburbs hell on earth.
Incredible documentary, common for nomadic life, as a Mongolian, I confirm that it tells the true story of perennial circle of life in man-nature world. I can understand critics, who doesn't feel comfortable with hunting down wolves but if you try to understand herder more, it will be clear that it is fight for their own survival also. Herd is all they have, which is usually not big, and active predators often push herder family into extreme poverty.
If anyone is entitled to kill animals, it is the indigenous people who have to maintain a livelihood based on living in nature, with nature and by nature. We people nurtured by civilization and technology have no right to judgement on them, much less interference.
I truly felt the pain this old but fearless leader felt, to see his whole way on living, thousands of years of tradition all coming to the end because of greed. Amazing film made me cry
Mongolia nomadic way of life will not vanish. They lived in a steppe region. The land of grazing lifestyle. Unlike Bonanza who owns a cattle ranch. This herders will round up the livestock and move em out to greener pastures.

A rugged wholesome way of life. A physically demanding routine but bringing out the ingenuity & talent inherent in human potential. To live in harmony with the rest of creation is a blessing. The patriarch shepherd tracking down the big bad wolf to protect his flock is part of and the young girl adopting the orphaned fawn to nurse & nurture are a testament to the evolution & endurance of human DNA.

I am from Ga USA. I wish docs like this were required viewing in public schools. The more American students see the beauty of other cultures and the hardship others face compared to ours the better we can start becoming the neighbors we need to be. At least we can remember the different ways others live before they're lost. We may have decades left of some things but we will certainly lose others within years. I feel lucky to have seen this. I appreciate that unlike so many things people watch lately this isn't divisive, it's just the opposite to me. I feel a kinship and being Scottish/Irish I realize that sometime in the past, my ancestors had to endure some of the same things, being cold, being hungry. Exactly! Raw and simple living. No other issues, than only make shure you eat and stay warm, with functional clothes. No make up, panties, fashion hysteria and unnatural beauty tirany. No phones, no laptop, no useless things you learn... Kids who are not left to nannies when mother works, dad works. All day long staying with your family and close bonded. No crying hysterical children and frustrating tantrums. No adhd, and other mental problems, no psychiatrists, and a 1000 other things that bother them. Simple, transparent living. Simple things to be and stay grounded and feeling of belonging. I guess suicidal thoughts and depressions are low. When sick, people help eachother, because everybody is present and not working somewhere else all day and absent. Indeed a life worth living.
I feel the same way as he did. Thought I don't belong in a nomadic tribe. Still, the idea that wild life will all disappear overnight is scary. I'm happy that they let the cubs go at the end. @@dansome3563 it is because of herding style. In these kind of mountain range, herders usually do not harvest grass for winter. They prefer to move to the place with rich amount of grass. Because it is harsh weather condition in mongolia. Winter, they have to move to mountain area it is warmer and grasses are longer grown. Summer, have to move to the valleys closer to water supply and colder.
They are all so very admirable & I feel humbled.
This video is a work of Art. The ending where he set the wolf cubs free was beautiful and a perfect way to end it.
I was not prepared to watch something so poetic, beautiful and a mix of many emotions. This is certainly a masterpiece !
Im proud of these Nomads ,they give a real meaning of Human beings , survival instinct, That's us . That's how our ancestors lived.
I'm here cuz I'm interested in the geography of the Tiago, I learned about it reading about the worst Soviet gulags as well as camp kolymar, as well as a good chapter book escaping it, so I find this interesting for those reasons at first, but who knows by the time it's over.
Their ancestors were the best warriors in the history of mankind. They defeated and ended the Islamic golden age for good in the middle east, they invaded as far away in Japan, Indonesia, Israel, Estonia, Siberia and even Austria. They were the best at killing people efficiently that made Mao, Stalin and Hitler like rookies. Their army was actually small but their kill count was astronomically high. I even told my navajo friend that your people are so lucky you didn't had to face the mongols.

First the mongols were defeated by Muslims at the hand of Delhi sultanate five times in India by Alauddin khilji
And at the hand of the Mamelukes (Rukn al din Baybarse/seyf al din qutuz) in ain Jalut and the golden horde (berke khan)
They didn't end Islamic empires lol Muslims survived and fought mongols head on and still fighting up to this day for survival and bruv islam now is spreading fast all across the world now it's population is 2,5 billions of Muslims in the whole world how can you say that mongols ended the Islamic empires lmao check history and check your facts
Oh and one additional fact :
The invading mongol empires (châgatais/ill-khanate/golden horde) all ended up embracing islam as their religion and from them came up the (mughals in India and Crimean Khanate)
Muslims did put up a fight we always do lately the afghanis defeated the United State of America and they were nothing but mountain people lol
Also you should tell your Navajo friend that they would've have had a better chance at surviving with mongols who had principles and value others rather than uncivilized Europeans who genocide and exterminated the native Americans with diseases and murdered innocents stole their lands everybody knows how america was created and how vile it is
Why don't you tell them how the sultanate of mughals of India were exterminated by British (mughals in persian and Maghuls in Arabic for mongols) ?! The mongol sultanate of india Was the richest and most cultural empire in the world in their era and was destroyed and pillaged by the British so did the Crimean Khanate but at the hand of the Russians

His last sentence describes the nature of mankind.
Always love for our ancestors.they.went through so much and sacrificed their lives for us
Hard working families. Dedicated parents. I very much admire the respect the older man and woman had for the balance between nature and man. And, their understanding of what they had to do to survive. They showed no hatred towards the wolf cubs and set them free. Excellent video.

I was also sent abroad years ago as I’m not in teens anymore lol but my parents especially my dad was quite successful (now retired), and even though I live in G7 country (top three economy of the world), not everyone can send kids to abroad as it cost hundreds of thousands to send a kid to a boarding school.
I love wolves, but, better wolves than ones fellow humans.
God bless these courageous, brave and formidable people. Great respect for their love of their lifestyle, land and people.
If anyone is entitled to kill animals, it is the indigenous people who have to maintain a livelihood based on living in nature, with nature and by nature.
We people nurtured by civilization and technology have no right to judgement on them, much less interference.
