Historical Queen's Cakes are basically just small cakes baked in tins or small molds (think like a modern day muffin) which have some sort of fruit or fruit flavor. I gotta imagine there are outtakes but please leave them out, I prefer the fantasy of the existence of a kitchen that isn't messy.

I know this may be off topic but Ron I'm not sure if you know this keeping your flintlock above the fireplace will dry out the stock and possibly cause it to crack, I lived in New England most of my life and have seen that happen to several vintage flintlock and percussion cap rifles. My leftover butter in the pipkin is never sent to the sink. But you are so lucky - born with Ron under a lucky star, since you are your proprietress's great-niece, and you have a lot of food products. Plus, Ron makes a lot of money cutting and selling firewood, he has his own logging business in the city.😄😄🙃

I was taught how to make Queen cakes in my Scottish primary school (60 years ago) and I still make them every week, and still call them Queen cakes even though it’s not an “appropriate” name for them these days. I sometimes turn them into “butterfly” cakes by carefully cutting off the tops, cut the tops in half, make up some butter icing, (I think you call it frosting) put a small amount of butter icing onto the cake then place the halved tops into it to look like butterfly wings, then dust with icing sugar (powdered) sugar. Totally off topic, but, did you happen to have a small part in the most recent Little Woman film Justine?
