    Nice video. Great playing. The reality is these days that digital amps and modelers have come a long way. I love tube amps. And don't love them at the same time. Tubes can sound good at one point but with environment changes not sound as good the next. They burn out, they make for a heavy amp, etc. Going the digital route cuts that stuff out in part.

  • @stanislavmigra
    @stanislavmigra 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Best sounding digital guitar product so far for me. Exactly what I was complaining about digital product is not there. There are no 99999999 amp/pedal/effects models and what not.
    What there is, is sound from proper 4x10 with proper speakers, easy to use and instantly great sound.
    No stupid 6 months of learning your modeler.

    • @ashcosmo3854
      @ashcosmo3854 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reality is it takes less than a week to figure out a modeler. Then you're left with a superior product. If you buy this amp you'll either be buying or chugging around $1000's worth of pedals. Digital amp's with no effects are pretty much pointless these days.

    Awesome intro always enjoy watch Pete play. Fender makes excellent amps and guitars I think Fender should try and put an attenuated control into their new tube amps as well that would sell like crazy especially for people like me that live in a apartment/flat. I have a Boss Katana Artist MKii and love it I’m thinking about doing a wet/dry setup and was looking at one of these to add to my set up. Hope you guys are doing well, Cheers from New Mexico, USA.

    One of the best sounding videos I've heard on the channel. And definitely the best sounding video with the TMSR on the Internet period. It is great to hear this amp in the hands of folks that know how to dial in a Super Reverb to sound great. Thanks a bunch for doing this and for putting it through the paces with all the guitars so that we can hear how well it responds with each. Awesome stuff. It seems like the amp inspired and brought out higher levels of playing from both of them than I have seen before. That's a testament to how good the amp is.

    I’ve owned a Tone Master Deluxe Reverb since they first came out in September 2019 (I pre-ordered mine). Also, about mid 2021, I purchased a Tone Master Twin Reverb. I’ve been playing these amps constantly, using my Fender Baja 50’s Telecaster, and my gorgeous new Fender Vintera ‘70’s Telecaster. I can tell you, these amps are the real deal. The sound comes about 95% close to their tube counterparts. By the way, I also own two Fender Tube reissue amps: a ‘65 Twin Reverb and a ‘63 Vibroverb. I trust my ears, and these Tone Masters are something you need to play for yourself. You won’t regret it. You will be pleasantly surprised. Particularly if you’re into clean tones. I wish they would make a Silverface Tone Master now.

    Great review guys, first watched this a year ago, and it inspired me to take a dip into the digital world. having used tube amps for more years than i care to remember. i've owned my TMSR for a year now, and have to say I love it. I've always liked the sound of a 4X10 cab and also own a hotrod deville 4X10 which i also love but weighs a ton and is insanely loud. this is where the tone masters come into there own, so light to carry and the ability to get great sound at lower volumes. I gig with mine regularly and most of the time I keep it on the 5 Watt setting, that is more than enough volume for small to medium sized venues and gets start of breakup at about 5-6 on volume dial. Another great feature is the DI out, this sound great when recorded direct, would'nt bother with a mic ever again, the cabinet sim is superb. Before I got the TMSR I was using my Deluxe reverb for gigs, Really nice amps if you are into fender amp sound, and have to admit, i was a little unsure about using the tone master at first, but now i'm used to it, would not go back. Cant recommend this enough.

    The physics is for every doubling of watts you get about 3db of volume increase. That’s why the 1w to 5w is quite dramatic

    I have two Fender tube amps that have 4x10 Jenson Speakers, 45 watt 59' Bassman 410 LTD. (R.I.) and a nice 65 watt Hot Rod DeVille 410. No way does this modern transistor Tone Master Super Reverb sound better. I admit SS amps can at times sound as good as tube amps, because my old (single voiced )Fender Frontman 212R 100 watt SS amp (which is the older version of the Fender Champion 100 212 which had different amp voicings) which sounds excellent! Still SS is always missing the tube's natural distortion so they shall never sound exactly alike. With that thought I would still spend the extra 1/4 higher price for a tube amp over any SS amp that emulates the same name sake tube amp. -Peter age 71

      Hi
      I tried the Deluxe in a shop. But I took a chance and bought the blond TM Twin. I think the combination of a more pronounced midrange and the creamback speakers makes it a really good pedal platform amp. I use a Marshall in a box type drive and a tubescreamer and it handles them beautifully.

    Some great playing and sounds. Hats off to Fender for the whole Tone Master range, which, if I ever gigged as a guitarist again, I'd definately invest in - I'm on bass duties at the moment with a Fender Rumble 200 and couldn't be happier. Have to disagree with The Captain's comment about plugins not being inspiring though. Now that I have sufficient experience with my DAW, the right interface and the right VST amps, I'm coming up with new guitar based material like never before. Sure, the presence four 10" speakers provide is a plus, but personally, in the confines of my home studio, I'm getting results which keep me well entertained and blow away other players.

    Fender is making great strides with Digital Amps, even though my wee Fender LT 25 is not on the same level, I am still surprise the quality of the tones, if Fender put the effort in these practice amps, and I can only imagine how good these higher ones sound, Captain would it be safe to say this is the future of guitar amps, I would love to see a Amp like this in a smaller version affordable version,

  • @generationdink

    Here a few years later giggling at these two realizing the amazement of how wattage affects volume; decibels are a logarithmic scale. A change in 10dB is precieved as "twice as loud". A factor of 10 applied to wattage equates to around 10 dB.
    So 0.5 to 5 watts doubles the volume, and 5 to 45 watts would approximately do the same.

    I probably can t justify it but whether I sit in front of my transistor /digital fender or my super twin reverb with 15" es driven by 6L6es and a spring reverb , it makes a difference in my "experience". Hugly subjective and biased opinion here.
    Which doesn't mean I would pass on a chance to turn knobs on that one.

    Interesting to watch Rhett Shull's comparison between this and the real thing. Obviously there are caveats when doing comparisons, which Rhett points out, but spoiler alert : the real thing killed the modelled amp. Wasn't even close.

    • @andertons
      @andertons  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Rhett is awesome, we love him. But we are going to get brand new versions of both amp and do that comparison. Anything vintage and played for years and years will sound better 99% of the time. :-). So new vs new is where we will take it next.

    • @Toymortal
      @Toymortal 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andertons Good plan! Yes, there were major caveats with his video so new versus new would be a great comparison. I hope Fender were watching though, as it would be great if the amps offered the option to select from a few different model captures - including that beauty that Rhett was playing! I'm pretty sure that it's possible to get incredibly close to the real thing these days. It's great that we live in a time, where we have this good digital option though as gigging with valve amps is a heavy lift and expensive to maintain! Look forward to hearing the comparison!

    I had a '63 SR I bought new in '63 when I was in HS (yeah, I'm old). I dragged that boat anchor through all of college, med school, and beyond but foolishly sold it in the mid 80s thinking I'd like a channel switching amp with a lead channel. Live and learn. What I'm hearing from Pete's playing makes me drool for one of these, though it's probably no longer appropriate for my current needs (being met w/ modelers/cab). But still.... this is so compelling!!!
