  • Mobile Home Homemaking video! Welcome to my homemaking motivation video where I take you along with me as I work on my Tiny Kitchen! My old trailer is 455 square feet. To get my mobile home in better condition I had to do a renovation and makeover. My small mobile home may not be big but it feels larger because of how I set it up! This video is different from what I usually make like food pantry hauls but I do hope you enjoy it! I also have some frugal living tips in this video as I show you what life is like living in a small space. I hope you enjoy this day in the life of living in my office trailer. Living in a one bathroom trailer can be a challenge. I bought the best single wide I could afford. It needed a good old fashioned mobile home cleaning plus renovations. My renovation budget was too small to do the house design I wanted. Instead I put in endless hours of mobile home cleaning. I hope you enjoy my mobile home vlog! Plus we are going to Habitat for Humanity also known as the Restore!
Mobile Home Homemaking can be a work in progress!
My Singlewide Mobile Home is not big but it's a great opportunity to make the most out of what I have! My home decorating ideas for my living room is focused on furniture placement and colorful fabrics with patterns. I applied an interior design principle in my trailer that may not be obvious because I do not have the finest furnishings. I used symmetry! It works in any home on any budget. You can make a nice space for yourself, it takes creativity when your budget is low or non-existent.
MOBILE HOME HOMEMAKING & FRUGAL LIVING
It is a blessing to have a home that I can offer homemaking motivation videos to help you make the most out of what you have! In my mobile home spend the day with me you would find me tidying up and putting things in designated spaces. Mobile home homemaking means making the best home I can using what I got! I use fabric storage containers housing off-season items and supplies under the bed. This is one of my interior design tips for Storage so I can store items out of sight.
    MOBILE HOME HOMEMAKING:
This video is a day in the life of mobile home living! One necessary step I must take is keep the floor space clear. I make my home look more neat and tidy by putting things away. When you live in a small home, try to utilize space the best you can so you can safely walk within your home. Create a defined pathway to avoid tripping. If you would see a mobile home clean with me then you'd find me clearing the path in my home, so I can safely walk around! The struggle is real and it's important to create a routine that works for you! My floors are down to the sub flooring. It may not be the prettiest but it's what I'm working with.
    HOMEMAKING MOTIVATION
The space is a minimalist home tour but the amount of things I have do fill up the space quickly. I had to figure out how to maximize a tiny space. I make my space work for me and improve as I go. When I can, I upgrade items to better quality items.
    Mobile Home Clean With Me
Keeping your floors clear will help your home feel large! Design your space with storage in mind so you can get the most out from your furniture. When I moved here, I had very little furniture, it took time to build up to what I have today.
    FRUGAL LIVING
Living in a small singlewide mobile home has challenges. It would be easier if I had a "junk room" but I have to work with what I got. I have one closet housing a water heater. The closet has room to store items which I utilize to the max. Use what you've got, buy what you can, and make the most out of your home whether you live in an apartment, in a mobile home trailer or any other kind of home. You can make a nice home! Going to the thrift store and dumpster diving to decorate your home takes time, so give yourself plenty of room to be creative!
    KITCHEN TOUR
In today's video I include a kitchen tour! I had fun making it and maybe will do more in the future. I hope you enjoy!

I think its time to take a serious look at what can be donated to charity. This is way way too much stuff in a small space. I know thats not easy but we don’t even miss 99% of what we donate and it feels so good to relieve the clutter. Ive donated SUV loads of all sorts of stuff over this spring and still have a ways to go. We don’t need as much stuff as we have.

    Sara hi.
I know you are trying very hard to organize your tiny space. And you are working with what you have. However if you have access to a little shed or even a very large Rubbermaid waterproof container with a lid in your outdoor garden space. Then try to put items that are seasonal or mini appliances you use infrequently there. Even your certain stock pile items like soaps and laundry detergent can be stored in those places. This will visually declutter your living space and make it seem more airier.
Also. I would advise you not to leave your compose bin open to the elements. There are many critters ( raccoons , squirrels, chipmunks wild rabbits ) out there that will tear apart and scatter everything on your ground especially if you are putting food scraps in there. You must seal it tightly so it cannot be opened. I’m telling you this from experience.

I agree.. The extra stuff that are seasonal.. And extra cleaning and hygiene products and some food items will keep well in airtight containers to keep pest and dampness out... Also the compost you definitely need to keep that away.. Racoons and the like also carry desease I wouldn't want you to be bitten by anything.. There are even bat's out there. Please keep yourself and what little you have safe and in good condition. ❤

This is a genius hack with the bread ties. I’ve used cup hooks to hold curtain rods to disguise my pantry bookcases but I never thought of doing the same for my wire racks. Look on the side of the road and even in people's trash when they put it out if it's in good shape.. If you ask them most would gladly give what you want from it... And of course thrift store's they use them a whole lot.. Ask them if they would like to sell any fairly cheap.. It can be hard to organize a kitchen when you don’t have built in cupboards. The curtains covering the shelving units do help to get rid of the visual clutter. If you can find or make solid light colored curtains it helps even more.

I have a very small apartment and use alot of shelving. One thing I have done so things don't look too cluttered is put curtains on them. I used little curtain rods with screw hooks to hold them up so I can open them.easily. I play around with different curtains to change things up. Less visual clutter. One of my shelves I used velcro.strips for the curtains not has convenient as the rods but still works.

When you are able to find taller (to use all your upper wall space) and slimmer shelves that will allow you to eliminate the bulkier furniture giving you more space. Your microwave didn't look as though there was any vents on the top so yours is venting from the back and sides, your hot plate would have been fine on top. It looks like you have plenty of air space around it.

I saw on Pinterest that people use things like rocks, bricks, twigs, pool noodles or inverted pots to take up space in large planters so you’re not using so much dirt. if you got a pvc pipe and attached it to both sides of your living room to divide your kitchen and living room then hang curtains.....it would give you two spaces and hang a curtain for a door way to your laundry room to divide your kitchen from the rest of your home....it would give you rooms that are separate..........i think that is what you may be trying to do....in your kitchen you need tall storage cabinets that have doors that are wood look to store your things of cooking and foods.....sometimes our wants and desires are bigger than our spaces and we have to rethink of what we really need and how much we use the appliances and if one appliance does the job of two than we get rid of the appliance that only does one job for us.....and i am also guilty of wanting and trying to fit too much in too small of a space.......sometimes i think it is close to hoarding what i do, than i do a cast off, by going through and asking myself questions......do i really need it and when was the last time i used it, and how well do i really like it, and am i keeping it so just in case i might need it later.....and with clothes, when was the last time i wore it an does it fit me any more or is it too small or too big......if it has been a year or two or too small or too big.....time for it to go......

If you can find an inexpensive small full size fridge/freezer at Habitat for Humanity, you coul put it on the wall where the 2 shelves with curtains are & it would still free up space on the longer wall where mini fridge/shelf is & you can either group smaller shelves or one larger shelf....that may alleviate some of you clutter with so many shelving units & give you more walking area in hallway...sometimes too many "small" items will close in a space as opposed to one larger space.

Maybe it was just mine but I found that the bags didn't stay put, like when I went to put anything substantial in the bag the slid down inside making a mess. I also found it was difficult to remove full bags and some stuff just wouldn't fit. I ended up replacing it with one like yours funnily enough. Girl! You have to get a cover on that compost ASAP. You are going to have animals and stuff in it, not to mention flies, maggots, hornets etc. And its gonna SMELL BAD too! lol
I think it may be time for you to consider down sizing your stuff a little bit. Its getting pretty crowded in there. When you have to block a doorway to place furniture there, which is a huge fire hazard, you can pretty much assume that you have too much furniture. And if you need more storage/furniture to put stuff in, you can pretty much assume that you have too much stuff. lol I know its hard to pair down for small spaces. We live in small space too. But you have to be really cut throat when it comes to getting rid of things you dont use very often and to keeping your decor down to the bare minimum of things that you only REALLY REALLY love and use daily and to make room for the things that you really NEED.

I think the organization you didn’t great, how ever I personally would down size to my most essential small appliances. The hot plate would go, if I have a stove. The insta pot can also bake, saite, etc. it seems the side table that had the trash wasn’t needed in the home, maybe that could go. It was exhausting living with him & it broke my OCD tendencies. I started hanging onto things, allowing things to take over my spaces. When i left him, my OCD came back, but not the same as before. Now I am either all in or all out. I forced myself to get rid of ALOT of things, even things that had sentimental value. You'd be surprised at the things you can live without.
