I can see Tom Cruise as Joel Goodson in my minds eye walking up to that shower right now. Goodson “do you want me to leave?” , the girl in the shower “No, I want you to wash my back” - well, the dream is always the same!!
Ever since I was a small child I've been enthralled by electronic music. I didn't really know how to describe it until much later, but I knew what I was after. I saw it wayyy too young, but the Risky Business soundtrack was magic to me. Even though I didn't know a single soul that shared my passion until I was in my 20s, I knew there was something special about this music. I am absolutely delighted that we have amazing and talented people like you making such beautiful music. I feel so lucky to be alive during this resurgence of electronic music and golden age of creativity.
My first introductions to Electronic music were Synergy and Kraft Work as well as a few tunes from Emerson Lake and Palmer. Later I was listening to Vangelis and a few others like him. Now the list is longer then my arm. My CD collection alone is over 400 CD's just in Electronic music. Looks like we have a lot in common.
I saw the film Risky Business and I was capitvated by the musical soundtrack. I went out and bought it and TD took me into a new musical appreciation. I cound not get enough of TD music. It's alway a new listening experience.
Similar here. I was 12 when Risky Business came on HBO, watched it a few times that summer. The 'watering the lawn' scene immediately stuck with me as being succinctly hyper-real/surreal. So then....My older brother starts college that fall, and within the first month he's brought home a tape with Tangram on one side and Force Majeure on the other. A couple "a-ha!'s later and I either stole the tape or copied it immediately, possibly both :)
I don't remember since when I started listening to State Azure, but when I want to hear The Dream Is Always The Same / Love On A Real Train, I come to this now, instead of the original ones xD. Thanks man!
Only do what you love, not because some piece of s#*t pattern comes along and makes you feel the need the feel again! These secret jerks, are secret junk! We have what we need and when you realise recycling has a danger to it then you know thiers problems that we're not addressed from all out begginings! Music and artistry was made to allow people to feel thier best and find thier parts need for them and only them so others could find thiers also! We all search for things and somtimes the search has to rest so we can thrive within peace and have no question as to whats going on and will our lives be at risk
Did you know that the version of this song is different on the original vinyl release in 1983? When it was released on CD they added stuff to it to spice it up. I can't say they ruined it but per my opinion the original was much better, as in uncluttered. Tan Dream had it right the first time.
I have no idea how you are able to produce such beautiful music from a machine with wires all over the place, but I appreciate your artistry. Not as good as Love on a Real Train, but that is perfection.
Your music has become the soundtrack to my life and has expanded my mind to absorb the education I am now attaining later in life. I will not stop until I grasp my Ph.D. Your music is the fuel for my life's journey. Thank you !! Never stop creating !!! I look forward to future creations from you!!
The Mad Musical Scientist in his lab! What a setup he has. I cannot imagine how many years he has been building and changing his setup to his needs and wants. And I’m a way I do believe that they are not just musicians but that they are definitely part or a lot scientist as well. I love it and ya gotta love it to!
I first hear Vangelis in Blade Runner and felt it fit the way the world had gotten, they wouldn’t release his work until years later. Then I saw Rickey Business and just loved the dream music of tangerine Dream in it. it made the situation like a dream as it started out the music and even having the girl in his house was not a everyday thing for him.
Awesome music at 70 still stay the same always loved this type of music since beginning in early 70s you do it like a long magic journey never ever stop
WOW! im just blown away at how well you captured the vibe of the original, yet making it your own! very unique song and im glad you took the time to recreate this. Really teleports you into a peaceful place. tangerine dream is one of those groups that is for a niche market but the few that are here to listen, really appreciate it. If you love this style, give "music for 18 musicians" a listen as tangerine dream was heavily influenced by that sound. Thank you for this and love what you are doing! Keep it up :)
Wonderful, magical, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the sound and something in your neuronet under your skull switches to enthusiasm and optimism, mindfulness and new ideas
That was a real nice crisp easy to hear version. First time I've actually been able to hear it so clear. I'm so used to the mono version in the movie. Thanks for uploading!
late to the party here, but i wish i was as talented as you........wow..how could you make classics better????? but you do!!!!!!!! You are a legend sir.
Thanks, I have been listening to your stuff on an off for about 2 years. This convinced me to subscribe and soon I'll head over to Band Camp and get the discography.
Hello guys. Im 52. I heard Tangerine Dreams when i whas a late teenager .it started my interest for elektronisk musik. And I Still Love it. Dank viel mals. Der Dane Jim Witthøfft Jørgensen.
Plus, I'd love to see your DAW work. I am learning Abelton, and I know a little of GB and Logic. A mate of mine has Serum, and he swears by it. Anyway, keep it up!
I am very picky about liking TH-cam videos, I never like any video unless it is too good. But for your videos, I always give thumbs up even it has not started playing yet 😊
Thank you! It's not the equipment though. I could create these tracks in a DAW, and it would be much quicker, easier and far cheaper and sound as good. Just not as much fun.
What do you think of doing extended Halt And Catch Fire Soundtrack covers? I know a TON of people love that show (myself included) and a TON of new subscribers would join your amazing channel! I hate being that person on TH-cam who is demanding but...PLEASE MAKE PAUL HASLINGER HALT AND CATCH FIRE COVERS!

My God, so eloquently put. I relate, I agree, I had the same thinking.

Same here I saw the Tom Cruise movie I was mabey 11 or 12 and fell in Love 🥰 with electronic music 🎶
I don't remember since when I started listening to State Azure, but when I want to hear The Dream Is Always The Same / Love On A Real Train, I come to this now, instead of the original ones xD. Thanks man!

You are a Legend my friend. Risky Business is one of my favourite Tangerine Dream Soundtracks!!😎
Mine too, it was way before it's time. For some reason it still takes me their no matter how many times I listen to the Soundtrack.
Did you know that the version of this song is different on the original vinyl release in 1983? When it was released on CD they added stuff to it to spice it up. I can't say they ruined it but per my opinion the original was much better, as in uncluttered. Tan Dream had it right the first time.
I agree Tangerine Dream definitely did it right the 1st time.
I have no idea how you are able to produce such beautiful music from a machine with wires all over the place, but I appreciate your artistry. Not as good as Love on a Real Train, but that is perfection.
I think he is someone famous in the music industry and does this as a sideline.....and I thank god for it 👍🏻
Delay, chorus, reverb. What a joy :)
I would say, " You rock! " But it's more like, " You new age !" Another excellent job!
New age hey.
How about “New Crystal”
This is what TD was all about, using the machines to sound organic in cosmos.
As a huge fan of 70s and 80s TDream I can appreciate that you don't go all "dream mixing" with your covers.
Great to listen to. THX

And I thought my studio had some kit 😮
Your covers are superb. Love all the Tangerine Dream stuff - especially Love on a Real Train - amazing!
Thank you. Really appreciate the comment!
I keep coming back to this. It is a magnificent reworking of the original.
The Mad Musical Scientist in his lab! What a setup he has. I cannot imagine how many years he has been building and changing his setup to his needs and wants. THAT is bloody brilliant.
Excellent ! 10 of 10 ! Very good job of deducing the multiple sequences structure and assigning the correct sound to each one. Excellent !
Glad you enjoyed it
So lush! I can get my brain around all those modulators, plugins etc, but you make it look so easy. Beautiful music. Need more like this👍🏼👍🏼
Beautifully conceived and mixed music. An absolute delight to be in amongst!

Not all EM is "Techno".
A beautiful 'sound-painting' created by Tangerine Dream.
Very well done. Absolute pleasure to listen to. Thank you!
Slightly slower tempo than the original, but man, you nailed it :) Very complicated sequence of events! Congrats! Enjoyed listening
That was a real nice crisp easy to hear version. First time I've actually been able to hear it so clear. I'm so used to the mono version in the movie. Thanks for uploading!
Thanks!
Brilliant cover and tribute!
Not sure what's more impressive....your take on this classic track or being able to navigate that mass of wires, buttons, & nobs.

I just found you and I love these covers and you for nailing them so meticulously - beautiful! 🙋🏻♀️🎈
Thank you so much!!
