As far as I can tell, he should be mentioned in the same breath as Klaus Schulze, Steve Roach, Edgar Froese, Brian Eno, and a very few others. For me, Robert Rich fills a wonderful niche between Roach and Deborah Martin. These are the timeless artists; they will outlast the Century.
Another master of sound who has inspired my own journey of ambient soundscape production along side of Steve Roach.
Robert Rich is part of the soundtrack of my life and contributed to changing it forever.
Thank you for you music Robert Rich. It's amazing music. It increases my focus and productivity.
Robert and Steve Roach make the music to the heavens.

First i discovered Steve Roach and then Robert Rich and it changed me forever, with this music you can to travel to the ancient past and the most distant future, atmospheric and inspiring music
It was so amazing be there!!! I have no words to describe how amazing it was!!! Surround sound... all these great musicians... It was a dream... I went from Brazil to there, so it takes 14 hours to arrive there... but I can say that worth each cent and each minute that I spent there during the 3 days!!! Thank you for all, principally Stephen and Leyla Hill for this great moment in my life!!! Even today I can't believe that it not was a dream.

Hi, epiphoney is correct! It is a MOTM modular from Synthesis Technology. A few years ago Mr. Rich gave a lecture I was fortunate to attend and I video taped it and put it up as a series of six short videos on my TH-cam channel. Do a search on the following to find them, maybe try Part 2 first: "Robert Rich Discusses Modular Synths"
This music is really amazing, it's the "stargate" to another universe !

Regarding the Robert Rich show it was so awesome, fantastic, amazing and all other words related to that... His show was 100% in surround sound... In the room we could breath music from all the walls there... The energy was really great from the beginning to the end... It was so unique and wonderful!!! Thank you so much Robert!!
Jordy, I've seen Robert play numerous times, and they were all great shows, but his AMBIcon set was the best I've ever heard from him- simply a stunning journey in front of a truly appreciative audience!
Incredible soundscapes! Definitely takes you on a journey... love Robert Rich's use of guitar and synths together, incredibly seamless.

I’m 47 and since I was 19 I loved RR music his 1989 cd “rainforest “ i had that cd on repeat I wore out my cd and this was before the “ ambient” was the store I bought it knew how to catogorise it was under “ new age” but techno came and it was thrown in that category I am fortunate to have followed music that long thanks to a radio program called “stars end” every Saturday night that ran from 12to6am here in phillydelphia I also have a vinyl copy of Steve roach’s album if you want to listen to pod cast of that radio show
Just look up wxpn.org search playlist and there you have it all mixed live by the radio Dj

He's using an E-bow which is a small hand held battery powered device that vibrates the string and gives it infinite sustain.
