It feels lonely sometimes, not having anyone to enjoy this music together with. But seeing you play it actually makes me realize that you're never really alone when you're enjoying someone's art. Thanks Steve, I think you might've been my favourite musician during this past decade.

Steve, not sure if you’ll see this, but your music is something out of this world. It helps me fall asleep or get through my work during the day, you name it. I never experienced anything like this. Just wanted to say thanks for your art that you’re sharing with us to this day!
P.s. the new “Reflections in Repose” albums is simply wonderful ❤

Steve has been one of my very favorite sound artists for a long time. Discovered his music in 1985. I paint. And for me his work simultaneously provides a place apart while settling me calmly within. It’s difficult to describe. But always effortless - and enjoyable, to experience!

Each time he does a show he adds a new room on his house. Little known fact. All of Steve's kitchen appliances have custom built reverbs and are tuned to major chords. Man I miss my Nord Lead.

Every time I listen, many times over the last year or so, I increasingly hear subtle touches and movements, layers. When a piece of music reveals (or incites) more meaning with repeated listens, it’s a testament to the skill of the artist. A beautiful performance Steve - thank you. 🙏🏼

Thanks Steve for sharing this brief time/audio slice of your monolithic impact on the world of ambient music. 55:38 and on was absolutely genius! This is my 3rd time watching you create your unique soundworlds. This sounds great and is a treat to listen to - I haven't kept up with Steve's recent work but he still has it, clearly. As a bonus, every move Steve makes is for musical purposes, rather than big "knob twist gesture" often seen in loop twiddlers these days. This is minimalist beauty, unadorned.

would love to see a build from scratch of one of your most complex patches on the moog one (i hope i got the name right of the first synth you're playing on). i'm a soft synth guy: omnisphere (a rompler more than a synth, some say, and i might be inclined to agree), absynth, vital (in which i DO NOT use wavetables) - but i would still enjoy seeing your hardware synth sound design in action. then again, the nuts and bolts of your patches may be closely guarded secrets. in any case, frickin beautiful sounds. also the sound at around 11:10... major awesome. i imagine you tweaking and refining these sounds over several weeks - even months - during production

I am a beginning ambient artist and have posted several videos on TH-cam of my compositions. They aren't for sale anywhere and probably won't be. I mostly started this venture because it was a long time dream. When I started all this, I didn't get a very good system, as I later found out. I didn't want to spend a lot of money if my desire to create ambient music was "a failure". I put that in quotes because I discovered that even just trying has been rewarding enough. But initially I didn't know how well I would do, so I purchased a Roland Juno DS-61. All the pieces I've done have been on that keyboard...and in all the sounds I've found on that keyboard, I've yet to find even one that is what I was really looking for. But I had this keyboard, so I did the best I could.
So, having decided that I enjoy the process, I'd like to get another keyboard. I see so many in this video and would be years from having that many...but am wanting to get something that can produce that very clean sound...similar to Infinite Shore or Cloud of Knowing. My current system just isn't equipped with the sound engine to produce such sounds.
What would be one or two best choices I should look for? I'm still new at this so wouldn't want to spend thousands of dollars if I can help it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. To me, ambient music has always been transcendent...and I have been listening to this type of music [mostly from Steve Roach] for nearly 20 years now and I never tire of it. Old or new.
Again, thank you for any assistance. :-)
