Again listening again. This may be the very best drum solo I have ever have the honour to hear. And I am a jazz drummer, ok? Absolutely his best ever I think.
Peu de gens ont la chance d'être aussi libre. Certain passage me font pleurer, je ne sais pas pourquoi, c'est comme quand j'écoute petite fleur de Sydney Bechet....Je pleure à la liberté. Liberté qu'il faut durement gagner. Quand à celle que l'on gagne en se faisant autant plaisir, c'est rare de l'exploiter aussi bien. On ne se rend pas compte du travail que ça a du exiger. Difficile d'oser dire que le travail rend libre, parce que je voudrais pas donner raison à la manière dont certain envisagent le travail. Par contre, le travail collectif rend libre, oui. Chacun fait sa part. Et si dans ce monde chacun avait une petite part à donner à une belle oeuvre commune, nous serions peutêtre tous libre et heureux, comme ces mecs ont l'air de l'être.
Cette musique transcende le beau et le laid, le concret et l'abstrait, le vrai et le faux. Elle remet en cause toutes nos croyances et nous rassemble sous un même constat : d'où qu'on vienne, nous vibrons tous de la même manière devant ce chef d'oeuvre. Quel trio ! Merci
This band is just amazing, 3 talented guys on the same state of mind, master of their respective instruments. Rhythm change, structure change, a wide range of style, wahou! BRAVO!
This is by far the most dynamic Jazz concert I listen too. They are at their best. Such a great energy and synergy. Omri Mor is an insane pianist. What an amazing range. Daniel Dor is an outstanding here drive and complement the composition. Wow. Avisahi Also sound here at his best. I wish Avishai played Gesture #1 and Shumbarak more often in his shows.
I agree only partially. I follow Avishai for about 20 years. He has been on top consistantly. He went through about 6 pairs of pianist-drummer extremely talented Izraeli same school youngsters. Hard to tell them apart. All of the exactly in the same groove.

Absolutely perfect symbiosis of 3 outergalactic musicians of today! The piano player sounds sometimes like a Perpetuum Mobile followed by melodic harmonic sound landdcapes! On bass the most bodyful player i have ever seen/heard! The drums perfectly in harmonie with the genious bass and technically 1A+++++ Thats what my ears want to hear at a live concert! "Calm" is a Renaissance/Baroque-based form that holds true to a 500-year-old musical spirit of improvisation. It's something John Lewis attempted to do in "Django" (1956) that didn't quite hit its mark because, given the context, JL and the MJQ stylistically were compelled to pay a greater reverence to African-American traditions, which is not something that is demanded of these Israelis in the 21st century. It's betrays a kind of Third Stream that grew more naturally from the soil of jazz over a longer period of time. Bravo to all for all of this.
This video is my first exposure to Avishai..and what an Epic performance it is! On top of that-his music has brought together comments from admirers of more nationalities than any videos I’ve seen on TH-cam. I believe music can heal the world..and Avishai has medicine..

Une représentation de l'amour porté individuellement à ces trois instruments, une passion que l'on ressent dans un jeu qui met en valeur tant les compétences et la personnalité de chacun des artistes, des cordes du piano, de la contrebasse que celles des cymbales et peaux de la batterie. Une place à chacun qui est primordiale, un vrai groupe. Une parfaite harmonie entre ces trois musiciens qui développent et abordent entre douceur, fluidité et nuance, différentes faze musical. Daniel Dor is really Phenomenal on Seven Seas. And the whole concert is one of the best I ever heard. A timeless discovery.
