Very well done. This is the best method for cleaning. Some ppl move the butterfly without turning to accessory mode, which I know screws with the car’s electrical system. Awesome upload.
I'd recommend cleaning both MAF sensor and Throttle Body when replacing air filter. Use proper cleaning agents, not wd-40. You will feel the difference on acceleration and idling.
great vid, is it worth taking the throttle body out to clean as per service manual suggestion? I assume with the throttle body out you still should not force open the butterfly valve with your hands?
I just realized this just now. I disconnected the wiring/plug that is directly on top of the trottle body. Did i screw up and damaged my trottle body? In your video you only disconnect the MAF.

I will see today how the car behaves. If nothing happens, i will bring it to the dealer and let them take a look at it. I hope they dont charge me an arm and a leg. Oh well i have been doing maintenance work to my car anyway, I will let them earn a bit from me. 😬

Now engine check light is on with high idle/ 1000rpm and RPM is hutting (up 2000rpm and down 1000). checked for vacuum leaks and disconnected the battery overnight/just negative post, still same. any solutions ?????? last night I have discounted all battery posts and restart the car soon....
Nice video .....but after I clean my throttle the check engine and another light come ....then l removed the battery after a few days pass by I get the check engine and the vehicle has no power that on a odyssey 2011 What may cause the problem....Iam so disappointed
I replaced an 02 sensor same time I cleaned the TB. Now I have a high idle problem. 1500+ rpm all the time and a P0507 and P2279. Can't find anything on this problem on 2007 EXL. Any ideas? Any chance it's the O2 sensor? I'm going to swap back to the old one tomorrow just to eliminate that possibility.
+Dave Santiago I noticed better throttle response and smoother idle. If you have the tools, it worth doing. The cleaner cost around $5-6 at the auto stores.

I removed the whole throttle body and disconnected the MAP. could I have ruined the map with the cleaner. could you tell me where I might find the steps for the throttle relearn process. +SHAWNS High Altitude Media Ouch, its highly recommended by mechanics NOT to remove the throttle body to clean it. Try to disconnect the battery for 10 mins, reconnect, and before starting the car, engage the hand brake, turn off the AC, and let it idle for 5-10 minutes. Then shut it off and start it again and see if it solves the problem. If it doesn't, then let me know.
I did the same processes as you demonstrate with my Honda fit..and I have done the idling relearn and travelled around 120miles...However, the engine rpm is fluctuating between 1k to 1.5k rpm (around every 10s) when it is idling at P and N gear... Also, the car is jerking and rpm is fluctuating when moving slow ... Luckily the car is still running smoothly at high speed... Do I accidentally damage the electronics? Or I didn't clean the throttle body throughly? Hopefully someone can give me an idea... Thanks

+Dave Santiago Does it jump from like 800 - 1100rpm? Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and let it idle for a few minutes after reconnecting the battery ( you can do just the negative terminal ) after few drive cycles it should be normal again.

You shouldn't push the tb plate at all. If you get a new tb gasket, you can take it off and clean it. Up to you.

Yeah i did. Just clear the code or disconnect the battery, my CEL never came back
