I'm almost completely bald. For 20 years, the wife has been cutting my hair with a Wahl trimmer and #1 blade. She does a slight fade or feathering at the back. It takes about 15 minutes because she gets OCD about the little hairs she missed.She could probably do it in 5 minutes. I haven't spent a dime at the barbershop for 20 years. My two favorite barbers retired in the late 90s, so no loss. One was an older woman who finished with a straight razor. Usually had a cigarette dangling from her mouth. She was very fast and very good. The second was a pleasant guy who was one of the coolest guys I ever knew.
To all the ones saying, SHAVE IT OFF! Honestly not everyone having thinning hair or balding don’t want to let it all go, I have a high receding hairline and hardly any at the front but I’m not ready just to shave it all off even though I have a solid full beard.. I don’t want to go bald even though it suits a lot of men! Respect that some still hold on to what they have! We have not chosen to get thinning hair or go bald... unfortunately it’s in our genes and even though we can transplant a full face from one person to another, we can figure out how to regrow ones hair again!!?

Happy to help. It's why they are great for consumer combs, but not so much for professional. Sometimes pro quality means they're more durable, but sometimes being pro means they just need to stack up for a different environment and might actually not be as good as a consumer product.
Matthew Pearson I find ys park combs pick the hair up easier. Also they have a half tooth on the end which is very good for sectioning and also theyre the only combs ive found that last over a few months. Also as eric said barberside wont affect them :)
When your past 50 it dont matter if your bald as long as you keep face and scalp healthy and have the beard grooming on point. Being in shape doesnt hurt either

I always feel 65% balding men compensate for this loss by growing beards personally i hate beards because I never felt facially clean and i am always thinking i got to be careful when eating foods specially in restaurants after 6 months my girlfriend finally plucked up the courage to tell me she hated it and all this time i thought she liked it, so i decided to shave it all off after 6 month. i finally had the fresh face feeling again. I was amazed at how many family and friends said i looked a lot better and younger with a clean shaven face. I realized after this just because beards are the current trend in fashion dont mean it will suit your lifestyle.

Great video. I've been balding since I was 17yrs old. I tried covering my hair loss with short tight haircuts, and by the age of 22, I said to hell with it and razor shaved my head. I've been doing that for 21 years and now I have been so lazy I've let it grown and I have the same hairline as the guy in the video. It's over grown, and now i want a haircut like the man in the video, just to see what it's like. I appreciate the video and i will soon see what it's like to get a haircut from the barber once again.
I agree he should shave it all at this point, however, this hairstyle catapulted him from grumpy grampa to something much better, it was a nice job the styling of the moustache plus the tucked beard offers a more modern look if complemented with the right attitude and outfit .

That guy's head is also how my head looks like if I went full bald. I look like an alien. Therefore when I shave my head, I would leave a stub of hair on top of my head and shave clean the sides and back of my head (like a military "high and tight" only a lot shorter)

I use to shave my head all the time and about 2 years ago changed to clip it down to 1 on max and started to fade it. The light hair line looks a bit better on me and it looks more mature. I feel. Thanks Bruce Willis fir making the balding look a staple lol
You were talking about Airport Security. I went through several flights out to Hawaii and back years ago. The TSA guy searched my bag and pulled out a book. Complete idiots guide to getting rich. He then made fun of it in public and had everyone laughing. I had a lot of change in the bag and he was saying, oh is this your start on getting rich? hahahaha. When I think back on that later, security is one thing, but they have no right to go through your personal belongings and show them to everyone as a joke or in any way for that matter. If I could go back, I would have reported the TSA agent for that.

Everyone’s saying “shave it off” but have any of you considered the fact maybe the client isn’t comfortable with it? This is actually a big difference and it takes a lot of work to become a good barber. Hair isn’t a simple mindless profession.

Kent Combs & other cellulose acetate combs can't handle Barbicide. They'll essentially melt in them.

What's with all these haircut videos where they label somone who's lost 3% of his hair "receding" and then a completely bald man like this one is labeled "balding". There are millions of men who have twice or 3x as much hair as this guy who are actually "balding", as in "not yet bald"... How should WE get our hair cut??

I use to shave my head all the time and about 2 years ago changed to clip it down to 1 on max and started to fade it. The light hair line looks a bit better on me and it looks more mature. I feel. Thanks Bruce Willis fir making the balding look a staple lol

You were talking about Airport Security. I went through several flights out to Hawaii and back years ago. The TSA guy searched my bag and pulled out a book. Complete idiots guide to getting rich. He then made fun of it in public and had everyone laughing. I had a lot of change in the bag and he was saying, oh is this your start on getting rich? hahahaha. When I think back on that later, security is one thing, but they have no right to go through your personal belongings and show them to everyone as a joke or in any way for that matter. If I could go back, I would have reported the TSA agent for that.
What’s the point of all these horseshoes and beards, anyway ? Just be clean-shaven everywhere and be done with it. So much hassle with trying to create a “look” with those who can’t come to terms with being bald. It’s very liberating if you can just let it ALL go. Who wants to look like a mountain man or Santa Claus, anyway ? Check out Patrick Stewart, Yul Brynner, Bruce Willis and Telly Savalas. Shave it all and ace the beards ! Clean is in !

I cut my own hair use a mumber 3 and never had a problem.
Everyone’s saying “shave it off” but have any of you considered the fact maybe the client isn’t comfortable with it? This is actually a big difference and it takes a lot of work to become a good barber. Hair isn’t a simple mindless profession.

The days of a full beard and tats signifying an independent, masculine male are long gone. Today, they signify conformity and similarity.
