    Back when going to a gig didn't mean standing around filming it on your phone. Look at that crowd. Thoroughly engaged with the band. No distractions.

    My friend Jaap Janssen... ( We are both from the Netherlands) came up with this group... never heard of it. I was with artists as Sailor and so. This shook me to the bone. We both loved it and Status Quo would go with us trough our early years of our yought. First moped, First car, first to kiss a girl, school, homework, resitance to our parents, first job and start our own life. Sadly my friend Jaap passed away in december 2008. Status Quo became a symbol of our life.Thanks Status Quo. Thanks Jaap!

    I first saw these guys way back in the early seventies. In my chair was going up the charts. There was a grand total of 6 of us there. We didn't think they would bother coming on stage. They did. What an evening that was. Fantastic time. I am now in my 70s and remember it as yesterday. One of, if not the best, rock bands ever. Thank you Status Quo

    Man! The energy from the crowd at this gig is insane! Rossi says he looks back at this gig with embarrassment as they were coked off their heads. Still a stellar live performance from the lads I say! As someone who wasn't around to see them in their 70s/80s hey-day, eternally grateful got the chance to see the Frantic Four reunion back in 2013. Long live the mighty Quo!!!

    • @geoffpoole483
      @geoffpoole483 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rossi described Quo as a "BOS band" (Bums On Seats). A very popular live act and for good reason. One of those acts with an ability to connect with its audience with little difficulty. I can't remember the year but they played a pub in Ipswich at a time when they'd sell out the local concert hall within hours. I'm not sure if the pub gig was a one-off or part of a tour of similar venues. People take the piss out of Quo for not being virtuosos although they never claimed to be, but a Quo gig was a great night out.

    Saw Quo last night for free at Dreamland in Margate. Loved it. That's why I came to this page - forgotten about this song until it blew me away last night. Just wish I'd got to see them live when Rick Parfitt {and Alan Lancaster - but I'd have been a bit young when he quit} were still there.
    Btw, I've into a few gigs there for free cos a mate organises some work for them at times, and there were hardly any people filming on phones last night when there's often loads.
    My wife was working there for our mate yesterday and having never taken a selfie in her life before, she took one of her and Francis Rossi and sent it to me.
    As a kid I lived not far from where Rossi grew up - mum and dad pointed out the house loads of times when we drove from Coulsdon past Purley.

    Every band has its issues with not getting on, substance abuse and creative differences. Quo had managed to survive all these years with its various incarnations both musically and different band members. They had the talent, put on great live performances and had catchy tunes to be the major success they were.

    :) It was rossi I first learned blues licks from. The last present my Dad ever sent me was a white work shirt and a black waiscoat! He's heard demos from various bands I'd been in. I reckon it was his way of saying I'd made the grade!
