Box to Bench w/the Niksan Ozark .22 cal pre-charged pneumatic air rifle from DonnyFL and Niksan USA

- On a recent trip to the DonnyFL headquarters in Central Florida I was able to pick up and test a Niksan Ozark TW air rifle in .22 caliber.
The Niksan USA versions of these rifles have been specced by DonnyFL with stronger hammer springs to reach the power levels desired by lots of US based shooters. The Ozark line meets that by pushing an 18 grain JSB in excess of 40 FPE at the top of a 250 bar fill.
There is a slowly descending shot curve, so selecting a shooting speed is as simple as picking your pellet and figuring out where your top speed is, then filling to that mark. Depending on the distance you are shooting, that might give you from one to 5 magazines before it's time to refill.
For the review I topped the airgun with an Element Optics 6-24 Helix, and it was the right pairing for the Ozark.

Thanls for video PJ! Nice groups on some those shots!You mentioned a budget air gun , but at 2 quarters the way to 1000.00, really isnt budget for some of us ! Alot of this stuff is way over priced in the airgun market! At least in my opinion!
I love my airguns, but what they charge us for American products made here vs their foreign counterparts is ridiculous at times! If I could afford I would own nothing but made in USA, unfortunately my wallet isnt fat enough at the present time!

Your posts are doin damage to my beer money, PJ. Love my Tacto. Caused me to get this same gun as well. The stock is, IMO, the best I’ve ever come across. Nothin like the smell of Turkish walnut when you first open the box. Looking at the AEA Challenger Pro in .25 this week from Bin . Do you see a pattern here? I’ll be getting the saber tactical clamp as well for the AEA but for those who want to save a couple bucks, and who like to tinker, Orion the Iguana Hunter has a great vid how to make a homemade arca setup. ….. I for one, would be interested in a post from you on the lighter hammer as well as install. Now to go pick up some peeps for the weekend.

Thanks for an excellent review. I'd love to see how much the power can be dropped by adjusting that transfer port turned way down(assuming it was already turned way up?). Any word on the price?

i know you have the new tactical avenge-x .25 . i saw your videos and moderated its crazy quite. which would you spring for since you have both brands Avenge-X .25 tact or OZARK -TS .25? seems the avenge is more accurate and quite and i think the longer barrel would help with more distance + ive seen a couple videos of some shooting certain slugs out the avenge-x .25 that seem to group very well even though its not a specific slug gun that is one thing i like. for the niksan i like the design almost like a hybrid mix bullpup / rifle , also like the hard case it comes with 1 less thing to buy 1 thing ive seemed to notice is even moderated there not that quite . if im not mistaken the avenge is also regulated which helps with accuracy and consistent shot groups . on the fence between the 2 ! help me!!
The AvengeX is a more adjustable air rifle. Not only can you swap the configuration between stocks you have the ability to tune to different projectiles and power levels. I've been please by the accuracy of both, but head to head I'd suspect the AvengeX would have the edge.
The Ozark is more solidly built. It's a tank. Because it isn't regulated there are fewer failure points, and some see that as an advantage. I'm a big fan of the Walnut stock. It's a very comfortable design, and the telescoping/folding buttstock is well made.
If I just want to shoot and not worry about the airgun being dinged up even with rough use I'd grab the Ozark. If I wanted the ability to tune up or down, then it's the AvengeX.
which of the 2 is more consistent shot and accuracy wise out of the box. ive seen some guys shooting the same hole with the avenge-x . what about moderated vs not ? out of the 2 pcps i want whatever is quietest and accurate . @@WiscAirGunners
@@nathanw5747 The AvengeX has a shrouded barrel with an air stripper of sorts and air space, so it's going to be quieter. The Ozark has more of a tensioning function and no air really passes through into the shroud.
I've killed iguanas out to 85 yards with the Ozark in .22. I'm sure the AvengeX would be capable at that range, especially with a .25.
