honestly, v1 being quite uneducated in fighting a fast and actually smart foe makes sense here since this IS the last fight of act1, this is before v1 even fought minos. sure v2 might have been some trouble but in all honesty an v1 with a bit of experience can easily beat up a self centred prideful copy. but here, we can see v1 is struggling. in direct confrontation with gabriel we can see v1 was going the defensive, not being able to keep up with his attacks. however, the more the fight goes on, the more this v1 starts to learn, running simulation upon simulation. here in 4:41 is what i like to believe is the moment v1 started to run even more simulations that usual after this moment, v1 essentially became more aggressive, he still has a bit of trouble sure, but this is still pre-minos v1 AND pre v2-second encounter v1, so you cant blame him
V1 could've ABSOLUTELY blocked the sword at 4:55. V1 was calculating. It *knew* he was getting in close. It *knew* it would get a chance to repair itself.

I've always loved how in the intro monologue, Gabriel's just there in the background going on about the layers of this palace and the will of God, and V1 is just "oh wowie bone hand!" and not listening at all

I love the ending scene. All eyes on V1 as it proves to be THE most entertaining thing Hell has seen so far if it can beat Gabriel, and now it has its full attention as that same distorted "take care" theme from the end of the Earthmover fight plays.
Based on the tone of voice Gabriel has after getting blasted by the shotgun, it sounds like he's actually starting to actually realize how dangerous V1 is but is trying to keep up his composure, or maybe he was just recovering from the pain of getting half his face blown off, I dunno

I love this. Not only the choreography is amazing, but the fight looks and feels like what it would be like to fight an actual archangel, plus the fact that gabriel here gave V1 actual trouble, only for his hubris to be shatered
Mr. Jake Gill, you are an amazing voice actor. I thought the new lines were coming straight from Matragano himself, but you blew it out of the water with your own voice. Stellar performance.

I've always loved how in the intro monologue, Gabriel's just there in the background going on about the layers of this palace and the will of God, and V1 is just "oh wowie bone hand!" and not listening at all
Omg I love the way you actually used V1's ability to heal himself, he's so often depicted as damn well untouchable that you can forget the worst part about him is that he won't stay down. Also love his wings dropping at 7:06 when the coin trick doesn't work, great way to show emotion when he doesn't really have a face

I love the ending scene. All eyes on V1 as it proves to be THE most entertaining thing Hell has seen so far if it can beat Gabriel, and now it has its full attention as that same distorted "take care" theme from the end of the Earthmover fight plays.

Based on the tone of voice Gabriel has after getting blasted by the shotgun, it sounds like he's actually starting to actually realize how dangerous V1 is but is trying to keep up his composure, or maybe he was just recovering from the pain of getting half his face blown off, I dunno
Another absolute masterpiece. You really get better with every animation. The details in v1’s armour, the effects on gabriel, the choreography are all spectacular.
