Two national treasures gone to that great blues club on high! Johnny had fingers longer than any I've ever seen.

I would say that Hendrix also had those long, strong fingers!..It is an advantage, especially if you are talented as well!

She interupted this epic story at the best moment...
At Beamont in the Black Club, BB did not wanted to let Johny play with him at first as he knew him neither in name nor in look. He still asked for his union card, Johny went back sitting and send a couple of friend to plead in his favor.
Finally after a couple of song and out of boredom BB agreed. However, Johnny had no guitar on him, he came as a spectator but had already the idea to play with the King in mind. BB then decided to lend him his stuff so he could play, I was not there but I have to believe he lend him Lucille.
Johnny then played on gear he was not accustomed to and got a standing ovation.

B.B. bends a couple of those 6 silver strings at 4:45 in a manner that made Johnny (AND me) react the same way, at the same time. Here are two of the heads on my Mt. Rushmore of Electric Blues Guitarists.

Johnny winter was my first musical hero. I was born in 1956. Used to drive the older people nuts playing my tapes of his music. In 2012 I went to a theater in tacoma Washington to see a local talk show that was broadcasting from there so there fans could see them live. They were giving away tickets to up coming events at the theater to three lucky people. The one I won was to a show with johnny and edger winter with Rick derringer. Savoy brown was also on the ticket with Kim Simmons. I had no idea that they were coming to town. What a treat.

I'm so jealous of you for getting to experience THAT! I'd give my right tit to have seen it! I was also born in 1956. Just up the road in East Texas from where Johnny was born. I did get to see Johnny and Edgar perform together before they made it big and split up.It was one of the high points of my life for sure.

BB had a trill that was idiocentric was sweet and considerate of the audience, Johnny Winter was just jaw dropping fast and seemed to close the circle but was mercyless to the audience . Both had million dollar voices. The soil these guys came out of is gone with the wind.
