watching this helps me figure if i actually want to get the Huion Kamvas 16 pro! i used one a while back as my friend lent me it for a time. it is definitely a game changer from going from a Wacom intuos draw small to an actual pen display! personally the feel of the tablet is very nice, and is a pretty smooth easy tablet to draw on as someone who has never used a pen display before! [thank you for making this video!!! you are slowly becoming a channel i really enjoy watching, i feel very informed now on this tablet!]

XPPen should send you an Artist Pro 16 (Gen2) to test too, as it also has a 2.5K resolution. Many artists are saying that this new Pen Display is a huge evolution of the XPPen, it would be great to see it side-by-side compared to this Huion!

Ty for the review, i was thinking of changing to a screen tablet from my huion inspiratory h1060p, but i was having problems deciding between xpen and huion.
I bought the Kamvas Pro 16 2.5k during the Black Friday sale and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! It’s my first personal pen display after using my brother’s Wacom One he bought back in 2020! If there is such a thing as an in between a beginner and a mid level artist, that’s where I am 😅 Do you think a screen protector is necessary for the Huion 2.5k? Love the review! I’ve watched tons of review vids and I only found out about the Slim Pen from you! Immediately bought one online 😆
Yay, enjoy your new tablet & pen! I don't think a screen protector is necessary unless you really prefer a matte texture, the existing screen pretty easy to clean and doesn't get scratched easily

@@ashishhembrom3905 I find that 16” is perfect for me but can get a little overprotective with the tablet because it’s thin and quite heavy 😅. 1440p is absolutely gorgeous but I use it on a Macbook Air M1, so the UI is extremely small. It’s a mac problem but I don’t mind it because for me it’s extra space. You can tweak the resolution and make the UI bigger but you lose the 1440p which kinda defeats its purpose. I never used the pen that it comes with because I bought the slim pen because I got used to the Wacom One pen which was also slim. Other minor inconveniences I faced was that from time to time when I draw on csp, the default brush cursor would change to my laptop cursor which bugged me. Not sure what causes that problem. I have to save the project, move the cursor to my laptop screen and click anywhere and bring it back to the tablet screen. Another inconvenience is if I turn off the tablet and turn it on again, it always says no connection and I have to plug and unplug the cable. Overall, it’s a huge leap for me BUT ALSO, the three years I spent with my old Wacom One (it was the first gen btw, not the newer ones) was also pretty good. Tablet was sturdy, the 1080p is perfect for the 12”. The cables were the biggest pain for me. Hope that helped!
@@aribuwu Really good! If you have a powerful laptop or pc, you don’t need any of the other cables to power it. I only use the usb c to usb c cable to connect to my Macbook Air M1 and it’s powerful enough to run the tablet. Never used the pen it came with because I prefer the slim pen. Screen is really really great! 1440p is a big jump from 1080p in my opinion! I ran into a couple of issues but I’m not sure if I was the problem or the tablet or my laptop because I’m not that techy 😅 Hope you like yours!

Great comparison! I have difficulty seeing small print, fonts, icons, so I will need to scale up the UI to see the palates, icons, toolbars, etc. I was thinking of getting the Huion Kamvas 16, but after watching your review, maybe the Kamvas 22 plus or 24 plus wiyld suit me better? I will be using Windows with it so Imshould be able to scale the UI ? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

The non PRO Huion is 1080P too ,If one wants the bigger Ui with out changing settings in Windows/iOs, With windows one can change the Ui by scaling (not resolution).Not shure how to do it in iOs.
The Huion have 2 screen protectors applied, one for protecting it in the box it comes in that you should remove, and one matt one that should stay on underneath that one, sometimes one can remove both protectors when removing the the one for protect it in the box, both comes off as one. Maybe that happened for you?

What about mechanical waves in lines? Have you tried drawing slow straight lines instead of quick? I wanna see if the waves issue is still there.

Despite being an older generation model, this XPPEN is much more reliable at a great price.
The line quality has noticeably declined in their more recent displays, introducing wobble and jitter
I’m looking to buy the XP pen tablet. Are you able to choose what application/software to use to draw? Like photoshop, gimp, etc?
It runs off your device like a second monitor so yes you can choose whatever program you use. I use Clip Studio and Sai2 and have also used Gimp with my Xp-pen 15.6. I would for sure recommend one.

6:33 i have the huion one, got it refurbished on amazon, the best damn thing ever, i did notice everything on clip studio seemed smaller, idk about mac but on windows you can set the displayed to be zoomed, i felt 125% was perfect and could see the buttons better and still had plently of space for drawing without compromising the quality, also, i would recommend switching to the felt tips (the lil gray ones on the lil donut) the listing says the huion tablet is already laminated, but i feel a lot safer with a softer felt tip i feel like it wont scratch that much, keep in mind to wipe the screen before use as if it has dust it can accumulate on the nib

I ordered the Huion one yesterday didn't realize the csp ui would be smaller with the 2.5K res tho :(. I have vision problems so I'll have to scale up the sizing abit. But i also use windows so I should be able to do that no worries. I'll try what you suggested when the display comes in! :)

Hello! I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to make the icons in CSP a little bigger? I just got my Kamvas 16 pro recently and have been wanting to make the ui bigger,,,
I think u need to set the resolution for ur huion display in bigger scale prolly at 125% 🤔. Just go to display settings n select the huion monitor(usually display no 2) n scroll down for the resolution option

Ill showw u,after u chose a size for ur view window u just need to go to file and find insert,choose all the picture u want to use as reference and insert it,then make as many layers as ur reference and each picture should be merge with a layer. If u want to change the size or place of ur reference u can use a laso tool. Thats how i usually insert ref

great review! I was curious to know if you’ve ever had any issues with drivers/compatibility w mac/macbooks with Huion’s products + any issues in general? I’ve been debating the bigger huion’s for a while since my ipad’s limitations are starting to frustrate me. I have a really old pen tab w huion but discovered after a few weeks that my hand eye is doodoo alongside the lag(?) on the tab being atrocious 😂
hmm there was a little issue installing the huion 16 driver, I had to delete the huion 24in driver and restart my computer before reinstalling the 16 driver, but after that it was fine, so perhaps just make sure you don't have any old drivers on your computer?
@@qrbitsart thanks for the response! I have heard of huion tabs requiring it be the only driver on the computer before, I guess it’s a reoccurring issue.

I have the same Huion Kamvas 16 Pro 2.5k model, and I've only been using it for three months and the edges started to turn yellow. After I reported it to customer service, they replaced it with a brand new one for me, and then not even three months later the edges started to yellow again.
I've asked 2 artists who use the same model and they have the same problem, if you are still using it, then I would like to know and ask you to keep an eye on the device you are currently using to see if the same problem occurs.

Really? That's rather odd. I've had this exact tablet for a year and a half now and have yet to run into this problem. How did the problem manifest itself on your unit? I'd like to keep an eye on mine just in case this starts happening.
