I saw this video on Insta, and in a moment of weakness and a desire for my beautiful, big hair from the 90’s, I bought the K18, Olaplex 6, and Bread oil from Sephora. I already had a sticky, texture mousse. I just used the products as per the tutorial tonight, and OMG, it works!! I look like I just stepped out of a Guess ad from 1994!!! 💯10/10 recommend the products!! LOVES! ❤❤
I'm surprised that you don't have millions of views. I'll be chopping off my waist length hair, and will be putting in an order for the Dyson set because of you. I hope you can get an affiliation with Dyson in the future $💕
So happy to see his styles coming back the butterfly was my favorite they are great looks not only are they fun sassy, but they are also sophisticated and glamorous. Great job keep up the good creative work!
girl!!! stop doubting yourself and saying "i hope that made sense". it's language i want removed from womens vocabulary! it made perfect sense. lovely video :)
You are adorable......smiling. Your it-girl 90s style is my it-girl 70s style. And I love it. I'm 61 and new to this length of hair (thx pandemic?) so great job inspiring me. I have to remind myself that it does take work. If you want to add a bit of piecyness a tiny bit of pomade on the ends is awesome (for a 2020s look). You are a blonde Jacqueline Smith (my gen but still gorgeous).
Thank you for sharing your process! Great tip on sectioning off the hair, makes the process feel less overwhelming. 😊 My hair always tangles between the rollers, working on that…😅
I was in highschool in the 90's, (yes I'm that old!😂), But I remember doing it to my hair overnight with my mom's 70's metal rollers that have that big pipe cleaner in the middle and bobby pins. Except we had herbal essence mousse and Finesse silk effects hairspray. I slept overnight in the curlers with a legit scarf wrapped around my head!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 GOOD TIMES.
Love this video Shay! Great tips and advice! My hair is long but thin (fine)It would be great to hear from you about any advice on applying this style on hair with extensions in it.
hey girl hey!! could you show us how to recreate this using a regular curling iron? or what size do you recommend? im getting my hair cut like this Tuesday (same length and all) im so excited!
i do like it! the hair dresser i went to didn’t cut it exactly right but it still ended up cute! so if it was more like this i would like it even more! if you have someone you trust to do you hair i would say give it a go! i use rollers like she does and it comes out great! even on my thinner hair
Do you use the same sized rollers all throughout your hair except for the bangs?? I’m obsessed by the way 😍 I bought my dyson airwrap set because of you!
That’s so cool to hear!! I’m obsessed with mine. As for rollers I use medium large and small sizes. I put the largest rollers at the bottom then the medium, and the small sizes at the top 🥰
Very helpful, thank you. One question, it looks like you used larger rollers around the bottom and smaller rollers for the Mohawk area? I’m practicing for a wedding. Thanks!
Loved your video! Thank you for teaching us all. I did have one question, why do you switch to round brush attachment for the top section instead of the curler?
Shay, thanks for posting this. I was looking online for the best way to use rollers. I will purchase these and some of the products you used. From Jenn Vancouver, Canada.
Shay how do you stop your loose hair tangling up in the Velcro of the roller? It’s so hard to section the hair and I can’t see the back so I have some hairs out and some stuck in the rollers.
Obsessed ❤ what different size rollers do you use for the sections ? A small one for bangs and two big ones for back. But what size do you use for Mohawk and sides/ back of hair ?
Hi! When I use velcro rollers to get volume at the top of my hair I roll them backwards as shown, but I end up with flat spots at the root, then volume several inches down the hair shaft, instead of lift at the root. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!!
Hello) my hair is a bit dry, so when I lay it down, it kinda looks messy. What can do I do to style my hair, so that it doesn't look that messy? Thanks in advance
What type of rollers do you use? I thought Velcro would be dangerous for me as I suck at putting them in. I got plastic ones but I feel my hair just slides off ugh so frustrating
IM GOING INSANE. MY BANGS.. THEY DO NOT WANT TO GO THE OPPOSITE WAY NO MATTER HOW MUCH I ADD HEAT IT GOES BACK AND ITS MAKING ME WANT TO PULL IT ALL OUT WHYYY. also ur hair looks so cute!! :D

Yesss! Work it girl :D

I love this video ! 90s hair is gorgeous.
Your hair is my favorite. Is this your natural color? I would love to have this color but mine is so dark.
My natural color is a lighter brown! I get full baby lights and a few lowlights ☺️
Not of course, is not natural.
Ugh. I’m obsessed with you. You’re SOO beautiful! ❤️❤️😍
thank you so much!!
I love the video and learned a lot. I’d also like to know what make up you’re using in the video. It looks fabulous.
Your hair looks soooo amazing ❤❤ Can you please let me know how many curlers you exactly used? Looks like 8, but just wanted to ask you to be sure 😊
Gorgeous hair looks so fabulous!!! So happy this came up😊
How do you get such neat sections? Mine are a mess with hair coming from different places.
Brilliant! Thank you. You are so sweet with your explanation.
Absolutely adorable 😍😍. Thank you 😊 for a great tutorial. Cheers 😉🌷
Hi! This is beautiful! Shay, what type of haircut would you call this? Thanks so much for putting together the encouraging tutorial!
I don't remember anyone looking that good in the 90's. :)
How do you style your hair the next day/ how do you style your hair when you go to sleep? 🤍
I don't do anything to it before bed! but in the morning I will touch up the ends with a round brush and blow dryer!
Wearing a silk or satin bonnet to sleep helps keep my hair looking the same or at least not frizzy in the morning
@@Shays.Diaries when you use a round brush on your hair for the next day does your hair need to be wet or you can style it dry??
Ok this helped so much! I try so much and it never works so this helped me a ton!!!!! Thank u!!!

Both your hair & makeup are very flattering

Did you like the cut ? ((:

How did you ask your hairdresser to do this haircut?? I want a haircut like that aswell but can't figure out what to tell my hairdresser
@@Kfkslvsshow her the video!
Hey! I’m just curious what shampoo and conditioner do u use??

@@Shays.Diaries thanks so much for the reply! I love your videos and your hair 😍😍😍😍
What heat protectant do you use?
I love to watch people take their rollers out.
Very helpful, thank you. One question, it looks like you used larger rollers around the bottom and smaller rollers for the Mohawk area? I’m practicing for a wedding. Thanks!
Hi Shay! Great video and now I know how to set the rollers on my hair, you are great and mesmerizing person.Thank you, subscribed.👋🤩🤗
Shay how do you cut your bangs I love them😿!!!
you’re so pretty and i love your hair!!! what would you suggest doing if you wanted it more curly?
LOVE! ugh this was awesome- thank you for sharing!
What did you ask for in your cut when you went to the salon?
Do you ever roll your hair the other way? Like away from the face? Would love to see that this looks like!
Do you use the second edition dyson or first? Love this video watch it so often to do my hair :)
Hi. Can you tell us the size of the rollers & the barrel you curled with, as each size creates a different effect. Thanks!! ❤
Shay how do you stop your loose hair tangling up in the Velcro of the roller? It’s so hard to section the hair and I can’t see the back so I have some hairs out and some stuck in the rollers.
I find it hard to find clips that hold the roller in place.
Thank you for the video I came across I love it looks healthy and volume to the hair light. I love it
do you have layers or straight haircut? love you
What heat protectant do you use on dry hair the next day???
May I know how do you maintain your blowout hairstyle between wash days? Do you just comb it or re-blowdry it?
She said somewhere above that she retouched the ends with a round brush in the morning. Xo.
Wow,How many rollers to buy?
Could you use anything else for heat if you don’t have a dyson?
Which size has the dyson? ❤
How do you not have a gazillion views?!
How long does the style last?
Obsessed ❤ what different size rollers do you use for the sections ? A small one for bangs and two big ones for back. But what size do you use for Mohawk and sides/ back of hair ?
Where did you buy your rollers and clips?
Your bangs 👌🔥
NOT fair how clear your skin is

Do we have to curl it first before putting it into the rollers? I thought the rollers were supposed to curl it for us? I'm trying to avoid using heat
How many rollers and what sizes please
“But instead I went to get tacos…” 😂😂
Hello) my hair is a bit dry, so when I lay it down, it kinda looks messy. What can do I do to style my hair, so that it doesn't look that messy? Thanks in advance
What kind of rollers are those ? When I take out my velcro rollers it's like ripping gum out of my hair
You and your hair are beautiful……😊
How long do you leave the rollers in lovey?
How would you describe your haircut?
Very nice! You remind me of Cheryl Tiegs.
What type of rollers do you use? I thought Velcro would be dangerous for me as I suck at putting them in. I got plastic ones but I feel my hair just slides off ugh so frustrating
Do you curl away from your face or towards your face?
Hi! Do you know if another blow/roller brush that is good quality like this one?
The blow dry brush by Revlon is great and only $40
just make sure your hair is damp dry
What is your haircut called?
what hair clips are those called that you use to hold up the rollers?
What did you ask for when you got your haircut? Obsessed with this look, you’re gorgeous 🥰
Thank you so much!! I asked for lots of layers and face framing. For my bangs I asked for short curtain bangs. You can do this cut with any length :)
IM GOING INSANE. MY BANGS.. THEY DO NOT WANT TO GO THE OPPOSITE WAY NO MATTER HOW MUCH I ADD HEAT IT GOES BACK AND ITS MAKING ME WANT TO PULL IT ALL OUT WHYYY. also ur hair looks so cute!! :D
What is your lip color?
Love your hair 🔥Do you think your bangs would suit someone with fine straight hair?
Yes 😀
So only 1 pack of rollers ? 😮
I used hot rollers in the 90s much easier and faster.
LOVED IT
