I think one of the best things about Thai Airways is it incorporates the lovely culture of their country in their service. You can see it with the amount of respect they give to every passenger. Plus, I can see the warmth of Thailand in how they talk to passengers. Plus, the food is good!
i being on Thai Airways 2005, 2006 and 2007 for return trip home i loved Thai Airways International its one of the greatest airlines with Star Alliance along with Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa the food was fantastic and i loved there service Thai Airways has great respect and Passenger Support thats why i love to support Thai Airways for rest of my life and i will tend to plan on my next trip with THAI.
Thai Airways is extremely professional, from ticket check-in to boarding, it's amazing. U.S. airlines could learn alot from them in customer service and professionalism! I flew on them 4 times in 3 wks, and each time I was treated very well, top notch service, I highly recommend this airline.
I am lucky enough to fly many airlines to many countries - I can honestly say Thai is one of the very best in the world. Superb service, excellent food and a crew that really gives a smiling, caring impression. Five star airline at reasonable prices.

Naturally one would be defensive of their countries' national airlines, but insulting each other countries' airline is way too much. @slh950 Good Question! Most crashes take place during take off and or landing. They require window shades up so they can see outside the aircraft if it should crash, thats all.

I wish I flew on TG for a longer flight. I only flew 1 hr from BKK to CNX on a 747-4D7 . Excellent service from the crew and nice saftey video ( old version). I hope to fly to Thailand again and go on TG. Wonderful country.

Thai Airways is the Best!! Every time I fly to Europe, I fly only with Thai Airways. Service, Food and Etc are very fantastic! I was so impressed since the first flight I flew with Thai which it was almost 15 years ago. Next year when I go back to Eu again I can redeem my mileage to upgrade my seat from Eco to Biz. the window shades being open allow if an accident occurs the passengers and flight crew can see through the windows and access the situation outside of the aircraft as well as first responders to view into the aircraft to access the situation inside
Airport is nice :) Was there for 6 hours, it was quite fun getting lost actually. Duty Free was so nice, talked to some really nice people, i'll never see then again - ever! Found my folks JUST before boarding hehe.
i'm a filipino american who lived in chiang mai, thailand, for 8 months, and i LOVED thai people and thai culture. being raised filipino, though, made the thais view me as having 'jai dii' (a good heart) b/c i was polite and respectful. our cultures are pretty similar, other than religious differences of being catholic and buddhist.
We in Pakistan know that Singapore is a wolf in cheap clothing and Thai a loyal friend. Every time there is some crisis in Pakistan, Singapore pulls out temporarily but Thai is one of the few loyal, true blue friends who never abandonded us. THAI: 30 years of uninterrupted/continuous service to Pakistan.
Love this video and love the airline. Fantastic service, delicious food, and the cabin crew work virtually non stop on the LHR-BKK route using the old 747-400. No seat back TV's in economy class on the older 747's - who cares? How many airlines have seat back TV's that offer rubbish and don't work? I'd rather have loads of leg room, fly direct and enjoy the Thai hospitality. Thai - smooth as silk!!
Its in case something obvious happens (e.g. engine cowl blows off) and the captain doesn't know then the crew can warn them, in case of a forced landing the light from outside might help you find your way around if the emergency lights fail/electric fail, you can clearly see dangers outside when evacuating from aircraft so you can choose the safer exit :)
because when they taking off or landing, in case of any emergency, the flight attendants needs to know whats going on outside its just a aviation procedure.

their NY-Bkk is very nice. The economy class has more spaces than any other airline. Besides that the food is like so good. And they have personal interactive monitor where you can play games, pick the movie you want to watch and stuff. So much better than UA. Thai economy class is like UA business class except you can't lie down.

Not all airlines request you to pull the window shades up. Thai is great.
