Swissair171 agreed. This brings back so many memories from when I flew with these guys back in 07 and 09. Too bad they cut off the Pakistan route. I would love to fly with them again.
Just love this tune so much....very very relaxing and brings back awesome memories! Has to be the best safety video in the world....I just wish SIA reinstates this back into all their flights, the new one isn't all that great :( this has to be the signature tune of SIA, and a major part of its branding, as a result of which they are where they are today! Please SIA get this video back on!!
Ah, nostalgia rush. :'D This was the first flight safety video I've ever watched (I was a young'un flying to Indonesia with my family) and it was just so fascinating and magical and relaxing to 7 year old me! If they're going to change the FSV, at least keep the calming tune. ;w;
What I love about these videos is that they are so comforting/jokey (as in Virgin's case) but essentially they are precautions for a journey which is one of the most dangerous you will ever take! Oh, and when they ask you to put window blinds up on landing and take-off, that's so E. Services can see you thru window - Seriously!
I don't know why, but every time after hearing a safety video while on any aircraft, I always get this chilling feeling that something bad will happen. I don't know why, but I never think about it before the video is shown on a plane.
Nitin Srinivas Manivasagan I know how that feels.. I always had a massive fear of flying that always got doubled by these videos. I think that by watching it in a more comfortable environment (home), it makes it less worrying, and therefore won't cause much fear once you've seen it again on the plane itself. Another thing is that there really isn't anything to fear with Singapore airlines, as they're one of the safest airlines around!
This is really nice. It reminds me the first time I went to Singapore with SIA back in 2006 and it brings back great memories. I love Singapore and I truly enjoy spending my vacation there. Can't wait to go back.
I really like the service of Singapore Airlines. I always love flying, especially the routes between Hong Kong and San Francisco (SQ 1, 2) once a year... Even though it is an overnight flight, the service is still very good.
Man this video takes for ever!! when i watched it on SIA i couldn't be bothered watching it after a while!!! tHEY SO NEED TO MAKE A NEW & SHORTER ONE!!
The camera is so stable and the sound is so clear on this version! Good job! Did you plug your seat's headphone jack directly to your camera's microphone?
Ahww.. I like the background music....Its like so calm, peaceful, uhm...I don't know i just love it! No doubt Asian Airlines are the best in the world...
I saw this same video when I flew the Vancouver to Singapore route, which they will be canceling on April 25 due to low passenger load. So I don't think this safety video is limited to just the Indonesia routes, which some of the users here have already indicated.
It should be in Bahasa Indonesia. It was filmed in executiveconomy Class on board SQ962. I took a safety card and two travel health cards and lodged them in the housing around the PTV to create a dark space. Yes it looked weird but no one minded and I had two seats to myself :-D !
Oh man i can't stand this video already. Don't get me wrong it's a great video. Just that i fly singapore airlines quite regularly so i see this video so much haha. Can memorise it already lol.
i flew MH and thai by far the best airline with awesome food and their service is beyond excellent i am very much pleased by that...i am flying overseas agian guess which carrier i will prefer its obvious SIA..... keep it up mate
Dammit... whenever I hear this music and presentation, I'm used to browsing the SIA inflight duty free magazine... filled with stuff I'd rather buy at the airport.
You all must understand that this video was released in 2001-2002. Almost 7 years ago. SIA has already filmed the new safety video which includes the cabin products and the new uniform for the stewards. Should be out by the end of this year.
Ah nostalgia man... Sure wish that SIA could eventually return to flying to Pakistan again, I flew with them in 2007, and 2009, sure wish that incident didn't occur for them to suspend flights. Hopefully they'll resume flights to Pakistan soon.
is this a standard safety video? or is this for a specific piece of metal? looks like it was profiling a 340, but then a 777 is at the end, which is it?
windows shades are up because, in case of an emergency, people (police/firefighters etc) can check if there is still any one trying to leave the aircraft. (Air Steward)
Good question ^^ Actually I think they shouldn't ^^, judging from safety demos : it says that "during take off and landing, the operation of any eletronic equipement (including cameras I think) isn' t allowed" , since they can create interferences (I don't know if it's the right word ^^)...
singapore students learn english. bahasa melayu is the national language but english is the administrative language. students only learn bahasa melayu if they choose it as their second language (mother tongue)
its not my hypothesis, its the FAA regulations perception. FAA did studies and found from passengers who survived a plane crash were constantly pressing for the release button rather then flipping the hatch. Also you have to take into consideration of those who rarely or may have never flown before.
Come on man, do you honestly believe people will be thinking "Oh this is so much different than a car seatbelt... I lift up the buckle and not press the belt button. Wow". If a person has enough IQ to get to the airport, go through customs and immigration, have common sense to pack correctly as to not be detained by airport security... I think the same person can muster enough intelligence to realize the intriquate workings of today's technologically advanced airplane seatbelt.
are you talking about the one where in the begining there were 2 SQ girls? Yea i liked that one, but this one isnt bad. as long as they didnt get rid of the singapore jingle then im happy
it really is a 777-200 that is departing to indonesia or malyasia or taking off frim there . Its a 777, at the end the aircraft flying represents what aircraft and the emergency exits door picture also showed a 777
No traits, no gimmick. Just clear, useful information for what to do do during a flight emergency.
I seriously miss this safety video, been hearing it all through my childhood :D
By far, this is the BEST safety video I ever saw. The music is great and after seeing this, you would do anything!
God this brings back memories! Good times...
+Swissair171 absolutely, the good old days.
Swissair171 agreed. This brings back so many memories from when I flew with these guys back in 07 and 09. Too bad they cut off the Pakistan route. I would love to fly with them again.
This is still the best, love the music theme
Just love this tune so much....very very relaxing and brings back awesome memories! I like the new one beter
Lovely memories.. SQ took me to Sri Lanka many many times… love you
Finally found this tune!!! I always had this tune in my mind since I was a little boy flying with Singapore airlines
this is one of the best safety videos. The music is perfect for this kind of video, singapore airlines is one of the best airlines.
Ah, nostalgia rush. :'D This was the first flight safety video I've ever watched (I was a young'un flying to Indonesia with my family) and it was just so fascinating and magical and relaxing to 7 year old me!

This was a great video
Brings back happy memories
Well after reading some of the comments here, let's just say thanks for posting this on youtube and so we can watch when we feel like it.
I'm reminded of flying on SQ to see my grandparents. So this is relaxing.
Luv the old safety video!!
I don't know why, but every time after hearing a safety video while on any aircraft, I always get this chilling feeling that something bad will happen. I don't know why, but I never think about it before the video is shown on a plane.

So many memories going to India and back. Nostalgia
I love Singapore airlines I've only flown with them once and that was a wonderful experience. No other airline is as good as them.
I really like the service of Singapore Airlines. I always love flying, especially the routes between Hong Kong and San Francisco (SQ 1, 2) once a year...
Even though it is an overnight flight, the service is still very good.
I love how calm the passengers (actors) look when reaching for the oxygen masks and performing the recommended brace position!
I agree all of them look awesome cute photo you have sweetie 😄😊😊😊😃😃😃
i luv this safety video!!its the best safety video i've ever seen.
This video, its music, being played while on taxi, all added to the excitement of travel!
Man this video takes for ever!! when i watched it on SIA i couldn't be bothered watching it after a while!!! tHEY SO NEED TO MAKE A NEW & SHORTER ONE!!
Even though Qantas is my favorite airline, this video is awesome :)
SO MANY MEMORIES!

@@boxenfun thanks a lot, bless you and your family m8 !!!
you really haven't watched other safety videos like Japan airlines/ANA. Singapore Airliens have done a good job in this!
I saw this same video when I flew the Vancouver to Singapore route, which they will be canceling on April 25 due to low passenger load.
So I don't think this safety video is limited to just the Indonesia routes, which some of the users here have already indicated.
Where can I get the music?

@@boxenfun No, more like th-cam.com/video/fNlibo8PC5Q/w-d-xo.html

The new one the better!
Awesome safety video, go SIA!!!
oh I remember this song when I flew them in the 90's... loved it! Now they have another cool song
i like singapore airlines the best.. i sat on it like more than 10 times..flying to perth and singapore..
Even though Qantas is my favorite airline, this video is awesome :)The A380 is the best airliner by far :)
Oh man i can't stand this video already. Don't get me wrong it's a great video. Just that i fly singapore airlines quite regularly so i see this video so much haha. Can memorise it already lol.
one of the most relaxing safety videos, really nice.
i flew MH and thai by far the best airline with awesome food and their service is beyond excellent i am very much pleased by that...i am flying overseas agian guess which carrier i will prefer its obvious SIA..... keep it up mate
Dammit... whenever I hear this music and presentation, I'm used to browsing the SIA inflight duty free magazine... filled with stuff I'd rather buy at the airport.
This safety video brings back the old, good memories!
bring back the old safety video, was way better than now...
obessed watching safety video of singapore airline and japan airline as i like traveling
This video brings me back great memories!!! And the old safety video is much nicer than the new one.
omg where is the version before this?! The theme was even more relaxing, and goes the same way as this one.
ahww..im so jealous:( almost all leading airlines have the same final greeting, while ours "once again welcome to Philippine Airlines, Mabuhay!"
Singapore airlines has the sexiest flight attendants they always have!
You all must understand that this video was released in 2001-2002. Almost 7 years ago. SIA has already filmed the new safety video which includes the cabin products and the new uniform for the stewards. Should be out by the end of this year.
I was born in Singapore and I went on this airline a few times. This video stuck to be for some reason XD
The funniest part of it, I feel, was "Keep your shoes on".. ^.^
Ah nostalgia man... Sure wish that SIA could eventually return to flying to Pakistan again, I flew with them in 2007, and 2009, sure wish that incident didn't occur for them to suspend flights. Hopefully they'll resume flights to Pakistan soon.
I do hope they come up with a new safety video soon.
Really very video reminds me my first flight and would love to travel more n more
singapore airlines is the best airline in the world
The music for this video is so classic
SIA should use this song for the new video
what old version? When did the phase it out?
I love the song !
i love singapore airlines woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
is this a standard safety video? or is this for a specific piece of metal? looks like it was profiling a 340, but then a 777 is at the end, which is it?
im sitting on it!!! thanks dad
I agree with this. Does anyone know the title of the backgroundmusic?
SIA Rocks!!!!!
windows shades are up because, in case of an emergency, people (police/firefighters etc) can check if there is still any one trying to leave the aircraft. (Air Steward)
Awesome, recommended melody!
In planes with the new products and new KrisWorld, is the safety video any different?
nice video
+1
I love the music too ! And SIA isn't one of the best airlines, IT'S THE BEST ONE (-:
NOSTALGIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hey man, i love SQ 2
nice.. but anyway why u gotta brace for impact just to make a emergency landing?
Because emergency landings are not always a textbook soft landings, expect a hard landing or sometimes a crash on landing.
That's correct, sleevy.
But I have never heard any other airline tell pax they must have their shoes ON for take-off.
true windows shades must be up because if the plane crash the ground staff will have a sense of up and down and know where to cut.
What aircraft is this? I know its probly a
777 but what series?
Is the brace position samefor other classes?
The audio comes from plugging in a sound recorder into the seat's headphone jack.
Thanks for the comment!
@pilot1030 I know, they were sooo nice when i flew from Christchurch-Singapore return!!! GOTTA LOVE'EM!!
Do you know who the music composer is for the safety demo?
Yes, the nostalgia but oh my, I can’t believe Singapore Airlines used this until 2016 or 2017. Kinda depressing lol
wonder when they are gonna change the safety video?
I love their safety video too althought i been on a plane 1 time on SIA
I remember this one. Wow!
Why do window shades need to be pulled up? I noticed both Singapore and Thai mention this on their safety videos.
This version is not the default version. This is the Bahasa Indonesia text version, obviously used on flights to and from Indonesia :)
Good question ^^
Actually I think they shouldn't ^^, judging from safety demos : it says that "during take off and landing, the operation of any eletronic equipement (including cameras I think) isn' t allowed" , since they can create interferences (I don't know if it's the right word ^^)...
SIA a great way to fly..
all my memories with SQ in year 99 till 02, jakarta - cairo
I remember this very well
singapore students learn english. bahasa melayu is the national language but english is the administrative language. students only learn bahasa melayu if they choose it as their second language (mother tongue)
Singapore Let's Visit
i am Quite sure that you have to keep your shoes on because during takeoff and landing, your shoes might go backwards or in front
its not my hypothesis, its the FAA regulations perception. FAA did studies and found from passengers who survived a plane crash were constantly pressing for the release button rather then flipping the hatch.
