Yea same with me I wanted to get a longboard because I saw videos like this and thought it would be awesome to be apart of that. I'm not much of a rider now but from time to time me and my buddies go on some trails with our boards.
A steep, dead-end hill with perfect (although kinda dirty) pavement? Ye bastard, why don't we have spots like that where I live? x) Great video though! :)
Haha this is awesome!! When I was in Washington I saw a guy doing this and I put the window down and we all started clapping when he reached the bottom!!!! Haha! But this is seriously dangerous and U have to be very brave and have talent to do this! Wow props to U guys!!
if you guys can travel and looking for places to longboard come to babich hills ranui auckland great empty place with one massive hill and many leading off of it
Are ehlers good for going down hills like these? Just wondering because hills like these are around my area and I'd like to go down them if my board was fit for these.
It all depends on a few things. How comfortable you are on your board, how much control you have over it, how much you weigh, how loose/tight your trucks are, and how fast you're going. They didn't get wobbles because they have gold balance, good control over what the board does, and they aren't going as fast as you think.
I wish the roads were clear like this in my town, that way I wouldn't have to try bombing hills on the sidewalk. Which really sucks because the sidewalks aren't well maintained. (Nearly ate shit today because a piece of concrete was raised a lot higher than the other)
longer axes - > less wobble, longer board -> less wobble, lower board -> less wobble, harder bushings/tighter kingpin -> less wobble, but more important: more practice -> more skill -> FAR less wobble, oh and weight mostly on front wheels -> less wobble.
Nice dude thank you very much i´m actually not that bad but i´m riding a chodeboard for about half a year and i wanted to know if longboard axes change much
Crunchie weight more on the front most definitely helps stability. And a higher front angle to rear angle ratio will change where the center pivot of the board is which will make the board more stable. Loose trucks save lives. Don't tighten you trucks too much or you will have a hard to maneuver board. And that can be dangerous for you and others. Wobbles go away with practice. Mostly in your head.
Hannah Garec Depends on the type of board. If you're looking for stability at high speed, try a thick (8 ply or more) drop deck. I ride a Kraken III from San Clemente and it does wonders down hills. If you're looking to slide, make sure you invest in good wheels...
+Hannah Garec landyachtz.com/2015_Boards/Switch_40#.Vgu4dZesl4s as far as easy the balance and goes fast I cant think of any better. This is my preferred board for downhill and coincidentally what I learned on. It is incredibly hard to do anything but slide tricks though, although i still can manage a shuv-it, g-turn, top hats and others so it is possible but really really hard to do on this board because of the 1 cm lip on either side. This thing does not speed wobble, it just doesn't; low center of gravity and wide deck make for easy balance.
Crunchie I realise this video is a little old, but I was wondering what software / hardware you used on the production of the song? I only ask from a fellow music producer point of view. If you are interested you can check out my bandcamp at "ampaudio.bandcamp.com "
I'm 15. 5'9 130lbs. I live in Fairfield CT where there are few hills-those hills are small and busy with cars. I live close to beaches and a town. I am interested in finding a board that's good for; Sliding (Stand-ups and ground slides.Do I need hills to do slides?) Carving (I wanna be able to zigzag the streets) Freestyle (i'm looking to be able to do shuvits and other tricks. Will a kick-tail affect my slides?) Commuting (A great push board. Maybe low to ground-not sure. A fast not heavy board.) It would be great if you can help me find a good set up.Can you give me some examples of boards that are good for all my needs please. Can you try to sell me on some boards please-Pro's and Con's for each board. I think im interested in a Bustin boards. I'm kinda interested in the sportster but i'm not sure if that would be a freestyle board without a kick-tail and if that board is specifically meant for downhill and sliding. Considering i don't live near hills. I am also sorta interested in the maestro series although im not sure if thats a sliding board. I hear its good for freestyle. Does sliding depend on wheels or decks? Also I am a intermediate Beginner who can only really as of now do the classic stand up slides and one ground slide with gloves. It would be greatly appreciated if you responded and gave some Pro's and Con's about some boards. If possible can you please reply
In my opinion any board can cruse and commute so that's not much of a problem but for some downhill of sliding I would go for a DB lunch tray it does have some kicks so you could probably do a bit of freestyle with it as well.
I have a sector 9 drop through it does everything you need it for. The pros it is drop through so no death wobbles it is light and goes extremely fast here in Florida. The cons less control but I have no problem with my board. And I have a drop trough and a top mount board. In all I would prefer drop trough
Im goofy and it feels so wierd watching a pov on a regular rider

Watching video like "well thats s nice hill i eonder why they call it the road of death OMG SLIDE NOWWWW!!!!!!!"
I would die on that cause I don't have slide gloves and can't standup slide
Jordy Games dammit dude don't go downhill if you can't slide
Tony Wu Idk how to slide, how should I practice if I shouldn't go downhills?
Danny O'Donell I'm sorry practice on what? lmao I've been doing it wrong all along!

A steep, dead-end hill with perfect (although kinda dirty) pavement?

LandYachtz switch 40 is good or osteon
is this paradise ?
how do you not get speed wobbles?
It all depends on a few things. How comfortable you are on your board, how much control you have over it, how much you weigh, how loose/tight your trucks are, and how fast you're going.
They didn't get wobbles because they have gold balance, good control over what the board does, and they aren't going as fast as you think.
+Maddie Perry Lean forward, more weight on your front foot
I wish the roads were clear like this in my town, that way I wouldn't have to try bombing hills on the sidewalk. Which really sucks because the sidewalks aren't well maintained. (Nearly ate shit today because a piece of concrete was raised a lot higher than the other)
Are you a New Zealand group??
do i get less wobbles with longboard axes `? would be awesome if there are helpful answers ;)
longer axes - > less wobble, longer board -> less wobble, lower board -> less wobble, harder bushings/tighter kingpin -> less wobble, but more important: more practice -> more skill -> FAR less wobble, oh and weight mostly on front wheels -> less wobble.
Nice dude thank you very much i´m actually not that bad but i´m riding a chodeboard for about half a year and i wanted to know if longboard axes change much
Freeeez3 I agree with almost everything you just said, except for the "weight mostly on front wheels" part, that's kind of a myth.
Crunchie The wheigh on the front foot is for the speed right ?
Crunchie weight more on the front most definitely helps stability.
And a higher front angle to rear angle ratio will change where the center pivot of the board is which will make the board more stable. Loose trucks save lives. Don't tighten you trucks too much or you will have a hard to maneuver board. And that can be dangerous for you and others. Wobbles go away with practice. Mostly in your head.
what board do you use?
Rayne or Acid I think
Board length, trucks and wheels please? =)
Could anybody suggest a type of board that's easy to balance and goes fast?
I would always recommend an arbor board. Top brand and very sturdy
Hannah Garec Depends on the type of board. If you're looking for stability at high speed, try a thick (8 ply or more) drop deck. I ride a Kraken III from San Clemente and it does wonders down hills. If you're looking to slide, make sure you invest in good wheels...
It all depends on your weight, height, and how tight your trucks are. Boards don't come with control, you find it.
