At low tide I also look for those points on the beach to get you out farther but always be very aware of what’s behind you. If you are crossing dry low spots and channels those can fill in behind you as the tide creeps in which can be very dangerous. Don’t get trapped and forced to swim back! Yesterday I got skunked, walking hundreds of yards of beach, while my Dad stood in the same spot and caught over a dozen fish including a 16” starry flounder! LOL! 🤷🏻♂️ Great video as always! 👍
Always a great show. I thoroughly enjoy watching your successes and failures. As a long time fisherman I can connect with both. Yes moving around can pay big dividends. Many times being lazy and not moving around can spell no fish for the day. Thanks
Need Soy and hot oil !!! Been watching your show for a while..i live on Oregon coast now!!! Starting to fish again!! Hope I see you out fishing!!! Hobo adventures broke fishing was my Chanel...
PK, I love your casual commentary are you enjoy your fishing sessions. I have a tendency to mumble during fishing, just not the clear dialog you are capable of! I mumble in French Frustrations. I fished yesterday the Harbor Beach, caught the smallest rock greenling possible! Less than 4".. Keep up the great work PK, we sure enjoy your efforts. PK, Those may have been White Seaperch aka "split tail" per Cal F&G Common Surf Perches page. Stunning fish for sure!
We Viets call something similar to that is Canh Chua. and usually eat it with catfish or bass, never tried perch. best part is the soup drowned it in rice. and yes needs to be spicey. bomb soup!
You ever guide surf perch? I've perch fished 5 or 6 times on the OC but never caught. Maybe I'm in the wrong place but I've fished all over LC. Mostly Roads End. Am I in the wrong place?
Google Oregon Marine Reserves to find the areas closed to fishing. It's a little bit confusing to figure out, but you can figure it out. You can fish south of the Surftides hotel, but between the Surftides to a bit past Roads End is part of a marine reserve.
If the bite is on as soon as you throw your first cast, you’ll get hit. Often times the perch are very close! I try close about 15-20 feet out, if nothing then bomb it out far and work your way back to shore. You’re in this giant ocean and it’s shocking you’re right in a school of perch. If you don’t get bit in the first 10 minutes…move. I have a 3 hook high med low rig with 2 different baits or even 3. They’re out there, find em!

Yeah, a spoon of sambal oelek would go great in that soup. Or just some chopped chilis. Looked really good!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Looking good PK.
You Know that " primal outdoors" Jason has done a video about you ! Today !
Thanks for the heads up. Just saw that video.

Your fishing in a closed area. You can get a very big fine.

@@Carson-my8xzhe’s fine bro
when you move how far up or down the beach to you go?
sometimes I walk as far as half a mile, but usually average about a quarter mile.
With 3 is it hi hi lo or hi lo lo ?
you did not show how to tie the bait hooks to your main line?
SINIGANG 🤙

I usually go to_____ beach and use____ for bait and smash redtail limits all the time. How you all doin?
Excellent video but you lost me at "worms" : ).
When I went to catch surf perch from CA beaches, 9 out 10 times I got nothing. Is Oregon richer of surfperches?
I guess they are. Not too many Asian poachers there
