    you can check for vac leaks by pinching off that nice new black hose with the red strip( brake booster) and also by lifting the pcv valve out of the right rocker cover, putting a small zip lock type of bag over it and taking that carb cleaner with a "straw" nozzle and spraying it into the opening in the left rocker cover where you add oil. you should get rpm changes if the intake gaskets failed . I have also plugged the pcv opening and laid a piece of a paper towel over the oil filler hole and it would suck down, even get sucked in! is the brake master cylinder full? you might want to check into the brake adjustment if you are able to "pump up" the pedal ! I retired from a Ford dealer a couple yrs ago after working on Fords for 45 yrs. the dealer also sold Kenworth trucks so I actually worked on what ever "fit in the door" as the saying goes!

    Check your timing for the 10000th time
    Use carb clean to check for vac leaks
    Power valve could be bad also.

  • @larueoffroad6657
    @larueoffroad6657 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    might be the power valve in carb. take your carb cleaner spray around base of carb and intake for vacuum leak if it revs up when you spray its leaking

    Okay it somewhat runs. Focus on making it stop and being able to see out mirrors. Then make it drive. Currently you have a massive vacuum leak somewhere locate all your vacuum lines and see if those have holes etc and go from there. Would love to see yall do yank that engine out and do a rebuild on it in your garage or new shop unless you are planning on doing another engine swap.

    The carb has issues, when you closed the choke and it didnt make a difference it has a big vacuum leak. Maybe try plugging the big hose that goes to the brakes. If that system is busted and you said you dont have brakes it could cause it

    I love the Gunk stuff. The brake cleaner works amazing. I did a trans filter change a few years ago, and when I cleaned the pan, I started with a left over can of Gunk brake cleaner, and finished with a can of O'Reilly's. The half cleaned with Gunk looked like a brand new pan, just from spraying it out. The half cleaned with O'Reilly's....I scrubbed and scrubbed with the blue shop towels too, and it still looked greasy and dirty. I now buy the Gunk stuff whenever I can. The O'Reillys in my town doesn't carry it in stock, but the Autozone does. It's literally the only reason I go to Autozone, lol.
    As for the carburetor, I bet base plate where the throttle shaft goes through is worn out, resulting in a vacuum leak. That's a very common place for wear and vacuum leaks on carburetors. It's probably why your choke did pretty much nothing.

    Best regards friend and my congratulations on the love, investment and resurrection of the legendary F-600. I ask you a great favor to install a key ignition so as not to turn it on with the screwdriver, the other thing is that there is a carburetor adaptable to 90% of all automotive brands and it works correctly at minimum revolutions and minimum fuel consumption and it is a success in Colombia by the team of the Cali carburetor house and the carburetor is from the Toyota 4k model and on TH-cam there are enough videos to check it and also in the fuel tank to check it and clean it deeply for the dirt that it may surely have and in the issue of the brakes is to check the fluid lines to ensure correct pressure and operation🤝

    Why are you removing the positive battery cable after it is running? If the positive cable is off it is running on the alternator only and when you drop the ram to move the alternator stops charging and it will die. You need the battery cables hooked up.

    I can see the heartache and desperation to see it just do something without costing a arm and leg. You have a major air/vacuum leak and I don't know if you have tried as a thousand armchair referees claim to know so much but while its running, try spraying that carb clean around the base of carb and along the heads where the intake bolts down to it.... maybe clear down where the vacuum booster is at and that vacuum hose connects to it..... try spraying the start fluid or something flammable and see if it sucks it in making the engine pick up the fumes and there will be the leak guaranteed. You probably have done it several times but short of bent pushrods, it should run mucho better. Don't give up or take to drugs.... I am sure it has pushed all the right buttons by now
