- The third of three salmon landed by local angler James, during an eventful day on the Ness.
A typical spring day in the Scottish Highlands, with all four seasons experienced during the course of our day.
A light North Easterly (upstream) wind ensured there was always a cold edge to the wind. Air temperature was 14 degrees and the water temperature was 12 degrees. The river was standing at minus 5.5" on our gauge, which is around plus 2.5" on the SEPA gauge at Ness Side.
A great result for James and another gentle reminder of how casting well and covering the water, will often reap its rewards.
Happy days ;)

Well done James, cracking fish to round off the hat trick. He’ll need to trim that bushy fly down to match the “killer” fly 😄. Thanks for sharing Cameron.
Many thanks Ian, I couldn’t agree more, it’ll be interesting to see how James gets on with the trimming process 😂
Well done James fantastic fish tanks once again Cameron I wonder are we overdresing our flys judging by that one James was using great stuff 👍 😊❤from Ireland 🇮🇪
Many thanks Noel, in our very clear water, I think you’re right, we might be missing a trick by routinely overdressing our flies! 🙏❤️👍🏻
What a stunning fish James well done . I might take one of my Orange Cascades and liquidise it see what happens that is amazing .
Lol, that is almost exactly what has happened here Pete, good luck with the liquidiser 😆
Nice mate 😊
Cheers guys 🙏❤️👍🏻
Nice fish James...was this the old or the new Ness C on the line? Either #10 or the first for the new fly...
Definitely the old one Mike, I think James is going to chew on that new one for a while before he uses it!
