@@ManFlowYoga - I fixed it with weight training but all those downwards dogs done improperly over develop the front deltoids which
then cause the imbalance already in jeopardy from too much screen time.

With that deer pose around 15 minutes, you mention one side is easier than the other. This was no joke, with my left leg forward i can't actually sit up. It's very tight on my right side above my hip and beneath my rib cage, also on the inside of my right thigh. Any recommendation for getting this to be as flexible as the other side?

    • @ManFlowYoga
      @ManFlowYoga  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The only solution is more practice and modifying when necessary to make it work for you.

I'm going back through some of your older videos. This is a great sequence for men. When men practice yoga, we have more strength but less flexibility. I would also add down dog to this sequence or even three-legged dog, which I just recently learned.

Hi, Ive never really been into yoga and have always steered clear of it. However i recently had a back decompression op and at the age of 62, thought I would give it a go! I have found it a great way of becoming more flexible and also strengthening muscles that normal gym work don’t touch. Fantastic series and I am now hooked :-)

Hello Dean, thanks for uploading this. From the age of 28, I found that a combination of cardio (running, swimming and boxing) combined with yogic postures I learned allowed me to fight the acute anxieties and depressions which had affected me since the age of 13. It was very hard work Dean, I often remember forcing myself outside to go jogging in my Timberland boots at 2am when it was snowing. I often moaned after my runs that I was unable to enjoy the 'glow' which most runners felt after their efforts but my routine and discipline kept the worst of anxiety and depression at bay.
Then, in 2017, I made a fateful error. I found myself getting involved in a relationship with someone. I no longer had the motivation to exercise much, practise yoga and, over the last two years, I've found myself become progressively neglected and exploited by someone who I have become emotionally dependent on. I am now paralysed by depression, unable to go running or practise yoga. I have returned to live with my father and lay or sit in my room, leaving the house only a couple of times a week to shop for food. I don't wish to create any unnecessary panic Dean but I often feel that the only way out of this trap is to end my own life.
I yearn to break free from being emotionally dependent upon someone who has enjoyed watching me descend to this level and I yearn to resume the hard work of vigorous cardio and yoga I used to undertake.
Please consider sparing me a thought while I continue to attempt with this unbelievably difficult situation Dean. Thank you,
    Michael

Hey. You got this man. Just start today. Fuck every excuse or thought in your head and go run. Just get out and fucking go. Jump up on a bar, start banging out pull-ups whatever. No matter how you feel now I want you to know we are all family on this Earth and I believe in you. It’s not your time mate. Take an ice cold shower! Research Wim Hof, read the POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle. Get on it and be who you’re meant to be cause you’re interconnected with everything; oceans, volcanoes, trees, bees, and homeboy who started MFY. We got you, we support you, Love is the real truth, just GET UP and GO. Run like a free man. You are one

I am a female and understand. Because those bad relationships and emotions are obstacles that prevent from enjoying life or just living regular lives. Yes, we have to motivate ourselves, but we need others to help, motivate, understand, have companionship, etc. That is not being emotionally dependent on others. That is the problem. People who teach wrong. And it is not prevented by self, it is the environment people create. Environment of the type of people and the conditions matters. Also, we each need to be alert of and correct any bad behaviors, lifestyles, manners, etc. and not believe that a person can do whatever, when we all live with other people. That is respecting others.

Great workout for a “rest day”, but I was plenty sweaty so it’s still a workout 💪🏼😁
Also, if your gym is like mine and doesn’t seem to have bands or blocks around, a pair of kettlebells works great for blocks and a very light pair of dumbbells serve to give some tension when bands are required.

Thanks so much Dean for a great yoga routine. I appreciate your very detailed description of every pose and transition between poses. I also appreciate the tone of your voice and your gentle spiritedness. I find this routine to be so "do-able," and a nice break from the more powerful and intense routines. I get a more challenging workout with every yoga session because I am on a very substantial yoga mat, which lies on top of medium pile, padded carpeting. The only place I have to exercise. It's really great for developing good balance.

Daniel - thank you! Glad you are enjoying these workouts and the detailed descriptions. Hope it's making it easier to learn. :-)
That higher carpet DOES make it more challenging, but I'm glad you're looking at it as an extra challenge instead of giving up and saying you can't do yoga because of it. Nice job!

I think this is one of my favourites in this series. Such a good all rounder and as aways attuned and intuitive teaching and easy to follow guidance. What would make it perfect? Going back into child's pose again at the end ....

Good morning Dean. Salutations from Down-Under. This is really helping my rehab and keeping me motivated as I'm actually feeling like I'm rebuilding and developing new capacities both mental and physical. This is what the doctor recommended except, he hadn't but he should have, lol Thanks mate :)

Really glad you're enjoying my Yoga For Men series Jean-Noel! We actually just kicked off a New Year Challenge yesterday you might also enjoy. It's 4 weeks long, comes with full acces to our Member's Area, and only costs $9:

@@ManFlowYoga Hi Dean, thanks for reaching out. I went to the New Year Challenge link you sent me but it's closed? Also, it's already the 7th here down-under and so I would have missed the first few days. Maybe you can advise me for the next one and also, I'd like to make sure that if I do sign up for one series, that there is no auto-renewal as I prefer maintaining control on these. There is a lot of auto-renewal type sign-ups out there and it gets too hard to manage.

Up untill this one felt good about these as I could feel the stretches and how I would sing this wrong. Felt this class didn't explain / i could relate the movements very well. Hopefully next week will be back on form

Fourth lesson just finished with you and quite impressed and happy about your ways and approach definitely feels better to man's body type but I couldn't help noticing all your moves, sounds and looks very mechanical and without any attention to inner concentration or meditation side of yoga!
I am not an expert on yoga; although been practising tai chi for very long time and I just love to hear your explanation please ?
This is so well received on corona self isolation by the way. Thank you.
