  • Welcome to the Miami Boat Ramps channel. We are dedicated to bringing you all the craziness that goes on at the boat ramps in South Florida! Sit back and enjoy the show!
Ramps we currently cover: 79st (La 79!) / Black Point Marina / Haulover
We are working on adding 2 more ramps to the roster. Stay tuned!
Don't forget to hit the like button, subscribe and leave us a comment. If you don't, we're coming to steal your drain plug!
Also be sure to check out our other channels

Disclaimer : We receive a ton of emails and messages from people telling us we filmed them at the ramp this past weekend and they want to know when the video will air. This is not a question we can typically answer. We film from three or more ramps every week and have a massive back log of content and sometime it could be weeks or months after an event occurs before we air the video. We put stuff out as fast as we can but we only air three videos a week and in a typical weekend get 6-10 episodes worth of content meaning we get content faster then we can air it. Thanks for watching and just be sure to keep watching looking for your content it will air but probably not immediately after it happens!

Once they back away, its anyones dock. And once the truck and trailer were coming down the ramp, it was definately theirs.

Trailers have priority. Especially if there are courtesy docks like there.

It's Difficult To Back In Boat Trailers Because You Can't See Rear End Of Trailer While Backing.
I highly recommend installing "Guild Post" on rear of trailer. Aids in seeing rear of trailer while backing. Captain can also see trailer while driving boat to load.

If I lived near Miami, I would set up some lawn chairs with a view of the ramps, grab some popcorn, and just be entertained for hours watching the idiots either trying to back the trailer up, or load the boat onto the trailer.

I grew up boating in the tri-state area of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and for almost 35+ years, I've never seen docking and trailering like what's shown here.
In this area, the only time a boat is tied to a dock is if you are by yourself. Any other time, the captain drops off a person capable of backing in the trailer. Cap pulls away and waits in the queue until the trailer is on approach then heads in to load up.
This scenario just ends up being a mess especially when it gets busy...

Trailers on the ramp have right of way period!! Here in Montana, we had 2 people lose their lives this last summer because they got into an argument over ramp priority, not worth it!!!

Boat 1 - A good show of seamanship is knowing when to bail out of your plan (his dock approach). A poor show of seamanship is handling your throttle like it's a sledge hammer. Take it easy, Skipper. There's no need to spill any drinks.
And the truck backing down now owns the dock due to incompetent boat handling. Boat 1 has no trailer ready. He can sit on the closed ramp side until his trailer is in the water. Meanwhile he should watch this guy who landed on his trailer like a pro. Boat 1 - Trailer too deep, fenders out, clown shoes on... Ok, you're ready.
Backing your trailers - Ppppplease Eddie! Please go to a parking lot, put your hand on the bottom of your steering wheel, and LEARN HOW TO BACK YOUR FRICKEN' TRAILER.

Yes Sir, never understood the difficulties of backing a trailer. I started with a car when I was 16, just turn your body to the right, throw your right arm over the seat back, and use the car to make the trailer do what you want it to do. The steering wheel movement should be second nature when you focus on what you want the trailer to do.

We go up to the Dock and drop off the Driver to go get the Trailer and back It in. Then the Captain lands the Boat on the Trailer with assistance of the Other Captain. My wife usually goes back out and runs around some airing the Engine out, since we do a lot of trolling. Gives Me time to back the Trailer in and she gets to drive the Boat and land it. Co Captain. LOL. I don't recommend Boating Alone. Besides. Sucks having to Tie Off. Go get the Trailer. Go back to the Boat by Yourself.

I think he backed out cuz he realized what the truck was doing. At least he was looking back while backing too. Don't see that too much. The guy in the Titan needs driving/backing lessons.

  • @roberthance1187
    @roberthance1187 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

I wouldn't call that a dock block. Original boat didn't just back out to reset for better approach, he bailed out the area completely. At that point the other boat was simply closer to the dock as was his for the taking, especially with the trailer already coming down the ramp... Cargo ships need less space to correct their approach.

There are numerous videos of docks at the ramps in Fl. and every one of the docks are not long enough to launch or retrieve even a jet ski with a second boat pulling in behind you. It is called impatience/disrespect, and no one should approach any dock already occupied by a vessel or a trailer until the dock has been cleared and what it would be like trying to reverse out of a dock with these idiots pulling in behind you or your pulled forward on the dock but need to back up to get your trailer under the boat/ski.

The guy with the Truck / Trailer had priority. I always drop the wife off on a courtesy dock so she can get the Truck and Trailer. She backs it in, I load and winch it down and we're out in minutes.

I could never understand what the problem is whether a crew gets pulled-out immediately or has to wait 10-munutes. Life can't be that rushed that 10-15 minutes delay is going to end someones whole world or is something to experience a 'melt-down' about.

perhaps there should be 1 day a week where all the L-plater drivers should be allowed to spend 30mins backing down the ramp, the L-plater captains spend 30mins to align the boat on the trailer, ...

It ain't that fricking hard to dock. Get the bow in slip a loose line on then use the motor to back up and pull the stern in. Secure both lines and done.

Jet Ski's Are Jet Drive & Takes Much Skill, Practice To Maneuver Especially At Slow Speeds.
Propeller Boat Are Much Easier To Maneuver At Slow Speeds.
All Boaters Need To Wear LIFE Jackets. Wear LIFE Jackets Don't Store Them. Boaters Spend Thousands Up To Millions On Boats & Can't Spend Money On Suitable Life Jackets That Are Comfortable To Wear. Companies Also Make Inflatable Life Jackets That Are Comfortable To Wear & Coast Guard Approved. If You Are Throw Out Of Boat, It's Too Late. Almost Impossible To Put Life Jacket On In The Water. If You Get Bump On Head, You Maybe Unconscious & Will Drown, Die.

True companions captain was drunk or stoned. Lots of whiskey throttle and poor judgement of wind and tide. Man should not be allowed to drive a boat. Then again, that’s 90% of the people in Florida.

i think backing up with a tralier is easy cause ive done it a lot now... but its the last thing most people would describe as "common sense" or intuitive lol. 🤣 im not sure there are any countries that have any form of trailer testing to achieve a DL. so im not sure how having a presumably USA DL would have helped here? 🤣
