    The great thing about Kano is that the developers loved him so much in this movie that they actually retconned it so that he was exactly like this.

      well his personality is super serious in the games he doesnt often show emotion of hapiness and shows anger when he becomes "Dark Raiden"

      Well there are some rules. He could fight in Mortal Kombat but the key word is Mortal, even if he's a god, he has to give up his immortalty in order to fight in the tournament, ergo, if he gets killed in Mortal Kombat, he dies for good. And he's like fuck that, I'll defend Earthrealm but I'll gather a team to fight for me.

    Okay, of course, nobody has to like this movie, but the reason why the fans of the game (including myself) enjoy it as much as we do is because it does something that other video game adaptations failed miserably to deliver: Looking and feeling like the original. Yeah, i know there´s practically no gore in this movie, but the fight scenes and effects are pretty good for a mid 90´s action film (with the exception of Sonya vs Kano, that was just painful and made Kano look like a little bitch), the characters fit their original counterparts (except for Sonya, becoming the damsel in distress. Stupid decision), and it feels like Mortal Kombat. The tone, the style the lighting, that´s how a Mortal Kombat movie is supposed to look like. Street Fighter couldn´t even get the character desings right, i mean, just look at Sagat for example. He is a whole foot smaller than Bison. Also, Jean-Claude van Damme as Guile. This man has like zero charisma to him. Robin Shou at least was decent and fit the role of Liu Kang. The story is forgettable, and that´s a pretty bad sign. How can you possibly fuck up the story of a Street Fighter movie? The fights are lame and lazily choreographed, i mean, Cammy is played by Kylie Minogue, what do you expect? And this film is just all around boring.

      ninjamonkey508 I agree.....this movie based on a fighting game so of course there's a lot of Kungfu fighting.....I thought the fight scenes is decent during that time period and for a video game adaptation, they got their facts right and they really do their research.....the soundtrack is catchy yet memorable too.....

    Actually to be fair to Reptile he does have one of the best ost in the movie, has a good looking design costume design, has good fighting when it comes to everyone else that is actually real fighting, and something you maybe enjoyed: he doesn't talk.

    I know that this is an old episode, and while I usually agree with you on your reviews ...(USUALLY), and I certainly agree with you on the Street Fighter review, IMHO you are way off with MK. I think MK was a great movie and loved it....action and fighting is MK. Tough you have your opinion just as I do mine. :-) Just wanted to voice mine lol. However that said we can agree that Annihilation was garbage.

    • @mikeitkulof
      @mikeitkulof 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can halfly upvote this one. MK is not MGS or SH, it was all about fighting, and there was two goals to the film: to make some cool fight-scenes and to introduce them. Fights look naive but cool even on PG13. But the introduction... NG was right to roll it into concrete. It could be waaay better, if they just made a 15 minutes collage of fights. But they didn't.

    Even though there were only a few Finishing Moves done
    Sub Zero did the SNES Deep Freeze move on a random guy
    Shang Tsung did the Soul taking move from MKII on a random guy
    Scorpion attempted Toasty
    and the end was supposed to be The Pit Stage Fatality
    I liked it for it's silly action and to this day it's better than most Video Game movies I won't even pick in easy target like Super Mario Bros or Double Dragon. We still have Tomb Raider, Max Payne Hitman and those GOD AWFUL Resident Evil movies
