In Turn A, there is an offhand mention that some of the colonies were converted into generation ships and set off into deep space. That could be an interesting seed (no pun intended) for a new story. Not 100% original since Knights of Sidonia and Macross Frontier both take place on generation ships. But it would be interesting to see Gundam outside of the solar system.

It's interesting to see what qualifies as a side versus what does not. In all the other AU, we don't ever see groupings like this, and they just get called colonies. I wonder if that is so they can avoid having too many groupings to remember? Great video, as always, Adam!

Awesome video! I've been obsessed with these colonies ever since I got into Gundam starting with one of the PS2 games from the early 2000s.
Since there's already a video by Kakarot187 about the generations of mobile suits (similar to generations in real life fighter jets), so what about the human generations like the generations of the characters in UC lore? I'm not sure what these characters would be other than they would be WAY after their ancestors like the Millennials, Gen Z, and even little Gen Alpha got very old and passed away since UC takes place in the future.

That's a good point - because sometimes I wonder what would a "uc 79" generation look like based on the technology, social issues - and then would that differ by uc 155?
